  1. I was sleeved back in November and have had no regrets. Of course the first 3 weeks post op were not fun at all and I kept asking myself why did I do this to myself but that was because I wasn't able to eat "real food" and I was missing food that I could chew. Once those first 3 weeks were over and I stepped on a scale I felt so much better!

Now that I can eat whatever I want I sometimes struggle with temptation at times but that is just because I need to develop a new and more healthy relationship with food.

    Good luck to you:)

Hey there- was hoping you were doing well, I am so sorry you have been through so much. Glad to see you back here and yes join the FB group!

Hi paddyski! Congrats on all of your success! I don't come on here much (I used to come on a few times a day and now it's maybe once a month) and I don't do FB (I know-I'm weird) or else I would join you all on the FB page. Good luck and I hope to see you on these forums:)

It seems to be extremely common. Some sort of metabolic or hormonal reaction. Weeks 2-6 were really bad for me, my fingers and toes would regularly be numb with cold but it has gotten better. I am 3 months out now and while I am colder than I used to be pre-surgery but it is better than those first few weeks. If it lasts it will be nice to not sweat like a pig all summer though.

Yes! Before surgery I would always be hot but I now I'm always cold. But just like Swanton Bomb said, I am hoping this means I won't be a sweaty mess this summer! :)

  4. I'm so sorry you are going though this. Speaking with a counselor or attending a support group might help but also try not to beat yourself up about it. Focus on the changes you can do starting now that will help you get back on track. I've had some trouble finding some good "on-the-go" Snacks but those are really helpful so that I don't get really hungry and then binge on whatever I eat next. Good luck to you and your family.

  5. Hello fellow November sleevers, remember me? I've been MIA since my surgery but have been thinking of you guys, especially my date twins (11/6). Last year was good in terms of my getting the surgery but was rough because I was grieving the loss of my dad and then a close friend right before Christmas. Grief and trying to eat healthy are not a good combo but I have been pushing on and still am losing at a good pace (60 pounds so far) especially since I don't really exercise though I am moving more and love the energy surges I have been having.

I haven't been on here since right before my surgery but everyone seems to be doing well:)

You got this, I was hoping that day 4 would be easier for you! my husband keeps saying it will all be worth it... lol I know he is right but at the moment I am just going day by day! I am fearing the weekend because I don't want to too much downtime to focus on my hunger you know?

Thanks, paddyski, I need the encouragement:) This is just kicking my bum big time-I don't have much energy, the shakes (I have to use New Direction) are causing fun gastro issues for me, and I want something other than the shakes, broth, and Jello. Everyone says week 2 is better so I am hoping that's true for me too:unsure:

yes I have two days where it is just Clear Liquids and shakes, but the 1st 12 days include 4 shakes and veggies no corn potatoes or peas and 1 fruit a day I haven't gone to hog wild but I had a pretty serious Headache this morning I think. I just had to order more shakes and I got my Vitamins ordered so I feel better about that still have to get the Calcium but I think that is it. Crazy how everyone's diets are so different, even in my pre op class there were people on a 7 day diet and that was pretty different from the plan I am on... how was you big class did you have that yet? I felt like mine was pretty informative I was glad they gave us the presentation by email after. But I felt reassured that this is what I need to do, it helped to ease a bit of my anxiety.

I went to the class and it was informative about the pre-op diet and what to expect at the hospital and the process of healing after surgery. Yesterday I had to go to the hospital for pre-admission bloodwork and another EKG (mine was done over 6 months ago so I needed to get another one). The whole hospital smell got my stomach in knots and made it even more real. Time seems to be going slow and fast at the same time for me

Hi All, Is "November Sleevers" an actual group to join up to? Or, is it simply a post?

My goals are a speedy recovery....hoping to feel good (with exception of incision pain) by 1-week post-op. Also hoping for no serious short or long-term complications.

It's better than 80% likely that these goals come to be....if I follow the program 100%.

If the above all goes well....it's guaranteed I will lose a great deal of weight and be much healthier.

    Hello and welcome! :)

Hi everyone, scheduled for the 30th Nov provided my consultation goes to plan on the 19th. Having it done in the UK living in Ireland. Going through cycles of nervous/excited/apprehensive about the procedure. Mostly worried about the complications and ability to stick to the diet afterwards. Im a doctor myself and I'm also worried about going back to work afterwards as i've a demanding job and i'm on my feet 24/7 How are people preparing for life at work after surgery? Any tips you've uncovered re tubberware, lunch boxes etc... Im not planning on telling anyone about my procedure unless I have to as I don't like the idea of people judging me. That said im really looking forward to being able to smile at myself in the mirror again, not have to worry about seats being too narrow or clothes not fitting.

Hello and welcome! I am with you on looking in the mirror, narrow seats and clothes not fitting. I also hope to soon enjoy posing for pictures again instead of trying to avoid being in them:)

Are you on full shakes or allowed veggies too? I am allowed veggies on mine which I think is saving me at this moment but you are right we can do this!

Hi paddyski! No, I unfortunately can't have veggies. I would give anything to have something with a crunch and ice is not cutting it:unsure: Oh well now I have something else to look forward to after the surgery-crunch! :D

I am scared but thinking only happy thoughts (if you every seen Peter Pan movie) my happy thought is my daughter (13 yrs old) I hope you guys keep in touch with all the November surgeries. I am doing the liquid only but I’ve noticed I started getting headaches I am sure it’s withdrawals of sugar etc. Don’t want to take Tylenol just yet. Prayer for everyone.

Hello and welcome! Yes, I've had the headaches too (I'm getting sleeved on 11/6 and am on Day 3 of the pre-op diet) and I figured it was my body's way of asking where the yummy carbs were:)

Wow!!!! I am having surgery on November 6 as well. I guess we will all have turkey broth for Thanksgiving. I am excited even though I won't be eating my way through the holidays. I am excited about a new year and a new outlook. Hope we can all stay in touch along this journey.

By the way, I am getting a revision from Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve.

Yes, I was thinking turkey broth on Thanksgiving and if all goes well have mashed potatoes for Christmas:)

Hi. I am still waiting for approval. Hoping to get a date in NOV. Dec at the latest. Of course having met my OOP for my insurance I don’t want to start over next year 😭😭 so fingers crossed. I have been trying IF to prepare. I notice lots of different pre Surg diets and post surg diets. I guess every surgeon has developed his own plan that works. For me, when I get the date for surgery, I will do a 10 day liquid diet before. I am hoping the IF I am doing now will prepare me. I although it seems impossible to really prepare. Good luck πŸ‘πŸΌ everyone.

Hello and welcome! Good luck and let us know what happens:)
