Today’s outfit. I am in some of my new everlane work pants, a thrifted sweater, and a thrifted men’s wool vintage blazer. I go back and forth sometimes on whether to tuck in my shirt or not, because I have tummy loose skin/flab. I decided that the overall look was better tucked in on this outfit. Oh! I am officially “overweight” now. For the first time in my adult life, I am out of the obese category. Of course, I lost 3 pounds yesterday due to a stomach bug, but I don’t care, I’ll take it!

    What a F@#ckin miserable weekend!

Oh AJ, I’m so sorry for your loss. She was a gorgeous pig.

    Gurgle sounds

Mine talks all the time, especially right after eating. It’s been fine, just a bit embarrassing at times 😂

My first thought when I saw the pic, before I read your post was that those socks would be PERFECT with your super cute Adidas dress! I’m still jealous of that dress.

I made a quick change to go out to dinner. Please excuse the clothes strewn everywhere, my MIL delivered a bag of her old work clothes to me.

I popped over to the thrift store. Nothing exciting to report, but I did get a pic of what I’m wearing today. I’m in my new favorite jeans that I wore yesterday. I also dragged out my converse. Well, I guess I did find some brand new high rise dark wash Levi’s for $12, so that’s exciting! I’ll get a pic tomorrow.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

I haven’t noticed that. But, my dysmorphia is in full force, so it’s not easy for me to note changes. My running speed was impacted in a MAJOR way. It was pretty startling. And my energy level after running was much better. Like, I felt fine and could do housework and cook afterwards instead of just crashing out for the rest of the day. I even feel up to running my planned short run today! That would not have been a possibility before.

I love all the stripes happening in this thread! And you look great (well, okay, maybe not the hair 😂). That cardigan shirt set is absolutely perfect on you.

    Robotic sleeve surgery

My surgery was robotically assisted. I was thrilled when I found out - more “arms” able to work, better visibility by the doctor, and let’s face it, human arms are pretty dang fallible. Everything went great - no complications. The first week post-op was rough, but that’s just because it’s major surgery.

    Looking for Honest Friendship Advice

I get it, I really do. The shame and humiliation of being morbidly obese can be so hard, and such a barrier to overcome. I have very few people that I had very honest conversations about my weight with - my cousin, my partner, and a few very close friends. It was hard. But, once I could be honest about it with them, I was able to go on walks and just say “okay, I’m sorry, I need a break”. Before I would have avoided going so that I wouldn’t have to face saying that and being the stereotype of a fat person holding everyone back. The perception that I was holding them back was my own. Once I voiced it, they were able to correct me, to tell me that they would much rather spend the time with me than zoom at a faster pace. But that conversation was TOUGH for me to bring up. It took some major work to get to the point that I could. Please don’t be ashamed of yourself. You are worthy of respect and kindness, especially from yourself. I know it’s easier said than done. ❤️

    Looking for Honest Friendship Advice

Have you tried having an honest discussion about it with her?
  21. I actually like going out to eat more now than I did before. Most of my frequent restaurants are used to me eating just a tiny bit. The reason I love it is because I can get a box and enjoy the leftovers for several more meals! It’s awesome. But, I can see how if the server is acting overly concerned that it could get awkward. I wish I had saved up more money for clothes. I love clothes shopping so much now. My sense of style also changed completely. I think it’s because I feel more confident? I’m not sure.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

This week my calories were in the 1000 - 1200 range each day. My carbs were around 100, and my protein at about 80. I got some cottage cheese to try, I remember disliking it in my teens, but MsSS has inspired me to give it another go. My weight stayed pretty consistent this week, which, given the increased carbs is awesome. Increased carbs tends to = water weight gains for me. My size has shrunk, so I’d say I’m still losing fat. Our household has worked out a meal scheme. My husband and eldest are each responsible for one dinner a week, I’m responsible for 2, and youngest (the best cook) is taking 3. The dinners each have to include a veggie as well as protein. Tonight I made chicken pot pie from one of the Skinny Taste books. I subbed gardein scalopinis for the chicken, and used vegetarian “chicken” broth. So, the whole family can eat it. I have to say, the increased carbs have me feeling a MILLION times better. My weekend trail run is up to 4 miles, I added in tempo work to my during the week running schedule, and I don’t even feel like utter crap! I was really feeling run down prior to switching to maintenance.

I hate the slimies. And yes, grocery shopping makes all the difference in my ability to keep eating decently.

Pants shopping is a PROBLEM. But yeah, that’s just how my ass is pretty much. I don’t know why I got to keep it, but(t) it stayed. My boobs mostly stayed, but they are definitely suffering from the weight loss. Which, that’s what surgery is for! I’ll be getting a tummy tuck and a boob job. My thighs have a boatload of loose skin, but matter to me less than the other spots, so they will be lower on the priority list. OK, what you guys were SUPPOSED to be noticing is the cute buckle detailing just under the belt. I spent too much on these jeans (woooops), but that buckle was irresistible.

Thanks! I don’t know that they are specifically butt lifters? But they are doing good things for my buns, for sure!
