    who got a tummy tuck?

Are you offering Andree?! Cause I'll come along with you! haha
  2. I agree, the doctor is a fool. It's amazing how little people (dr's) know about the lapband.... especially in the provinces that actually cover the procedure. I wouldn't be surprised if he was thinking she meant the VGB (vertical gastric band). If she doesn't want to find a new Dr., maybe she could contact the provincial weightloss program (sorry, cant remember what its called) and see if they could send her some info on the band, and/or stats on how the first patients banded there are doing so far, and she could present this to her Dr. (smugly, of course!)

    Saskatchewan Gal

I saw a lady for a fill last time I was home in Saskatoon... if you need her email address, email me and I'll send it to you. She was banded in Mexico and I don't think is primarily associated with any one surgeon (although Dr. Cobourn's office got in contact with her for me), so is probably fine to do anyone's fills.

    Argon's Activities

I stopped taking the pills a couple days ago. I'd had a perma-headache since I started them, and haven't had it since I stopped. I'm going to start again in a couple days just to make sure it is the pills causing the headaches. I really hope it isn't. I just found a 'doctor' (she's a nurse practioner actually) and got the nerve up to talk to her about my issues, and now we're doing something about it, trying these pills until I can get my blood work done to rule out anything there (who has to wait 3 weeks to get in to have blood drawn!?), and now I'm going and having to move. She's amazing, and I'm so comfortable with her, and now I'm going to have no one. Since you can keep your old health care for 3 months after you move to a new province, i'm actually considering driving back here to see her while I can. If my blood tests reveal nothing, and she wants to keep on with the antidepressants, I'll give that a try again. I know it was only a couple weeks, but I wasn't feeling a thing with the antidepressants, only the pain in my brain. Uggg... what to do. I went and got an apartment in Halifax AND a fill this weekend. I'm totally going to lose this Christmas weight in no time. The apartment is pretty awesome. I'll post pictures when we move in. It's more expensive than I would have like, and I didn't get the minimum requirement I wanted, which was a dishwasher, but I guess I'll have to suffer. Apparently dishwashers are rare in somewhat affordable (and not brand new) apartments :smile2: And you wouldn't believe how much you have to pay for parking. Mind you, my only option was underground parking, which is nice, but still expensive! But with this place, we've got a private balcony, almost full wall size south facing windows in the living room with a unobstructed view of the 'Commons' and Citadel, hardwood floors, a gym and an indoor pool!! The gym doesn't get much use either, they say. I figure we can say we're saving the cost of gym memberships that we can factor into the cost of rent, right?! I'm so gonna spend 2 hours a day minimum there!! I'm also gonna grow some balls and go swimming!! I won't be working for a while, so I don't have an excuse not to do this. I'll definitely take pictures when we get there, cause i'm sure you're all dyin' to see everything Anyways, I think the next time you hear from me will probably when I get back on track and FINALLY reach my goal, and then WAY surpass it! Take care you guys, I hope you're all doing well  Mandi

    I Won

Congrats Andree! That's awesome, good for you!! :smile2:
  8. You know, this IS the Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery AREA of the site, and the title of the post warns that there are 'risque' pictures in it, so if you didn't want to see it, you shouldn't have clicked on the thread.
  9. I'm watching it right now! I don't know, Oprah thinks she's got something to prove, I think.. I wish she would though!
  10. I like driving, yes. Tell us about this clinic Petey. It's just weird when someone joins up and their first post sounds like an advertisement is all... ya know?

    Benefiber

Is there any reason why I shouldn't/couldn't add a whole bunch of Benefiber to a whole container of milk (or juice or Crystal Light or a jug of Water, for example) and leave it in my fridge for a couple days? Is there anything saying what you add your Benefiber to needs to be consumed ASAP? I just know I would be alot better at getting it in if it was already in the things I consume most. So what do you think?

    soda

It's up to your surgeon... whatever he says is what you should do. What's more important to you?
  13. Why would we be interested in an American clinic, in AMERICA, when we're Canadian? What's closer to Ottawa and Toronto than Ottawa and Toronto? If you have a great clinic to tell us about, just do it! Geesh.

    Ladies? (waxing question)

OMG, sausage wallet!!!! That's one image I'm gonna be stuck with for a while. Grooooosss! hahaha I also admit to wanting a brazillian, but I'm too scared to go. Not about the pain, but of someone being down there and seeing all my loose skin and . (before it was all my fat) Don't they sometimes make you get into different positions to get at all the vital areas (like on all fours)? That's the last position I need to be in!

Donna D, you better update that ticker! You too Maria!! I know, Toronto would have been nice, but this is ok too. Halifax is nice, although things I'm hearing about its crime level are scaring me!! Toronto is bound to happen someday, I'm sure. I actually can apply for EI because of 'spousal relocation', so that's nice. Yes, I hope the medication works... poor Dan indeed!

    Argon's Activities

How's the baby doing, Maria? And how about that fill? I went to the Dr. today (nurse practitioner, actually... bless 'em), and got put on Effexor XR . I'm sexually dysfunctional, and we're going to see if this helps, until I get my bloodwork and results done, and see if anything there is the problem. I'm desperately in need of a fill, I haven't lost any of the weight I gained over Christmas. I wanted to go last weekend, but since I have to go to Halifax in early Feb for apartment hunting, and since my fill person is 3/4 of the way to Halifax, we're gonna do it all at once instead. Bad idea, perhaps. It kills me to wait! I'm looking at apartments with gyms in them, and/or pools, and I tell ya, I'll be working my ass off if I can get in to one of those buildings. I won't be working, so I fully intend to hit the gym every damn day. 30 days until I'm done work, and only 22 of those are actual work days! Woo woo!
  18. You could also just eat smart, (and/or what you want), in just smaller portions, or make less.
  19. Who are you being banded by, by the way?
  20. Dana, come here : Canada Local Lap-Band Support - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support and ask that question. You'll have more luck with Canadians. I don't remember anyone mentioning any fill Dr's in Edmonton, but that doesn't mean there isn't. Someone will be able to answer you, and if nothing else, you have lots of choice in Calgary!

    Argon's Activities

Oh boy... defilled, now refilled, but still not losing the weight I gained with that wonderful defill (10lbs!!)! Dr. Cobourn just happened to be coming to Saint John last weekend, so I made the trip down there and got filled back up to 1cc (was at 1.3 before defill) I guess I'm going to have to go and get another little fill. So weird... what would be good for me?! Seems like SUCH a waste to go and get 0.1cc (money/driving/time wasted, I mean). But I don't want to go up to 1.2cc, when that could be too tight, you know? UGG!!! Dan's job in Vancouver pretty much fell through, but has a new, good offer in Halifax (more money even!), so that looks like that's where we're going to go. Not until March though. I want it NOW! I want to quit soooo freakin' bad. There was talk that they were going to take me off my current job, and put me in a diff. department that needs help... then upon asking about that further, I was told they were more thinking of switching my job into a coordinator position, which would be even WORSE than my current job. Waaaay more work, more stress, more contact with b!tch-face, and no more money. THAT especially makes me want to say "ummm... actually, I think I'm just gonna quit." I don't know what I'm going to do. Sooo confused. So... Dr. Cobourn seemed to know alot about me! Some people around here are tellin' him my dirty little secrets (i.e. being engaged)! It's ok, I just couldn't understand how he knew when he congratulated me, then he told me!! Did something kinda somewhat stupid, and let Dan convince me that we desperately needed a HD LCD TV! So we went to the Futureshop, and walked out with a 37" LG (brand) LCD (you know, the skinny flat screen kind) TV. They had a pretty good promotion with no interest, and 24 equal payments. No penalties for making larger payments, if we're feeling saucy... which I am sure will happen. It's really nice though, I'm pleased enough. :welldoneclap: Got our kitties spayed on Friday, and thought everything was going good until tonight, one of them was being verrrry sleepy and lethargic, and shivering. Called the emerg. # for the vet and he reminded me that when we got them, they were kinda sick, and he had told us that the virus can resurface after stressful events. Guess that's what happened in my baby, Pan. We're bringing her in tomorrow morning... I'm a little relieved, cause I thought she was surely dying from lack of uterus. I hope it IS just a cold and it goes away soon, cause it's very sad. What else can I tell ya? I gained some weight, I'm not changing that damn ticker, I dislike my job, can't lose that weight, been cooking waay too yummy of meals, and stole away my kitties' womanhood. Oh yeah, I have an unnatural new addiction to Old Dutch Popcorn Twists. Really.... it's disturbing!

    It Wasn't Slipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jessiebear, I'm curious what your weightloss pattern has been like. You said you had the same fill for 2 years, banded for 3, but you're a little over half way to your goal. Have you steadily lost the 90lbs over 3 years?

I can still wear my bigger shoes, but recently I've bought some 8.5's and 9's, when before I was always needing 10's.
