    Argon's Activities

Thank you, ladies. Now can someone offer me some advice? I came home to surprise my mom for Mother's Day, and was planning on staying 2 weeks for some old fashion quality time, and leaving this Wed. That is until Thursday night when my mom's heart stopped, we called 911, I had to perform CPR, and she passed away at the hospital. I cried that night, off and on, but haven't been able to since. Everyone offering me support and hugs and crying, and I'm shedding barely a tear. I feel like something's wrong with me, and people probably think I'm some cold, heartless bitch. My mom was/is my best friend. Now a little back story. My mom had MS. She wasn't really in physical pain, but it was hard for her for sure. She was tough and never complained. I tell myself, to try to explain why I'm not crying my face off that how can I be sad when I know she's finally at peace, and if she had to go, this is one of the best ways it could have happened. Am I in shock? I guess I feel numb. Maybe I'm in denial? I have fleeting moments when I want to go tell her something or call her, like I used to do everyday. I want to be sad. Maybe the funeral will be where I crack.. it's on Tuesday. Anyone?

    Argon's Activities

Well, size 6 is pushing it. If anyone wanted to buy me clothes, I'd definitely recommend no smaller than a 8 to be safe!! But thank you Wheezy, how are you doing? And yeah, maybe I'll hold on to the ticker a while longer. I just feel this weird obligation to update it (even though I dont), and when its not quite right, I scream "The ticker is a lie!!!" in my head!! So, I AM going forward with the home staging career change. I'm obligated now. I'll start the course as soon as I get back to Halifax (in SK) right now. And hopefully not be more than a month or so before I can start actually working at it. I'm pretty excited. I think it could be great. Anyone have any tips in the way of write-offs for someone who will be primarily working out of their home?

I feel like getting rid of my ticker. I flucuate up a few pounds, and feel like it's a big fat lie... i'm just so sick of seeing it, and feeling like I need to constantly update it!

    Argon's Activities

I feel like telling someone about this cause I'm excited! I had a job interview a couple weeks ago, and it went fairly well, but they still haven't made a decision. It's a scary job, and I'm not sure it's something I even wanted to do... BUT it would look really good on a resume. Anyways, I came across an ad for a 'school'. They train people to do 'staging' for real estate, and guarantee you a job upon completion. Either part time or full time. Even if I could only get on part time (25hrs a week), I would be making a good $5000 more a year than I would if I got that other job (which would be full time, and a ton of unpaid overtime). Full time, I'd make nearly double!! It's only $1000 for the course, and you have up to 6 months to complete it, but can finish in as little as 4 weeks. If for some reason they don't offer you a job upon completion, they will give you back your tuition, and if they do give you a job, you get that money back as a bonus on your first paycheck!! Can't lose! If I get offered that other job, I am 99% sure I'll decline it. I think doing this staging would be fun, and so much less stressful than the producer job I was gunning for. So I am very excited. It's totally different than what I've been doing, but I've always been a big re-decorating person, and into real estate, and I think I would do really good at this, and actually enjoy it! I'm in Sask. right now, surprised my mom for mothers day, but as soon as I get back to Halifax, I'm signing up!!! Yay!!!!

    Nova Scotia

Whoah, Doddie, hun, it's me! I've been there, done that. I'm asking he can have it done in a private clinic and have the province pay for it. The wait for Moncton IS like 5 years, so yeah... that's not happening. I will definitely contact the province and see what they say. I'm just hoping there's someone here who's gone through it. (I posted on a few other boards, so hopefully I'll find someone)

    question need a quick answer

The beauty of the band is you can do whatever you want! If you can fit it into your alotted calories and it doesn't slow you down, go for it! Honestly, I've never stopped myself from eating or drinking something I really wanted.

    Goal weight

You're definitely not too optimistic! You can get to whatever weight you want. Those people you see are not giants.... some would say they're selling themselves short. Good luck! (I'm 5'6" and my goal weight made me right in the middle of the healthy BMI range, and exactly half my original weight)

    40 pounds out the WINDOW!!!!!

Congrats Sweet! You're doing so awesome... I'm happy for you!
  12. Today, so far, I love it. I have the love/hate thing too. I may hate it later on today, who knows. I love it today, cause even though I'm completely defilled, every time I weigh myself, I haven't gained 10lbs like I'm so sure I have! I'm actually maintaining.... and it's CRAZY! :rolleyes2:
  13. Wow Amy, you look awesome!! I have the look in your first picture, and would love to look like the 2nd one!! (also curious if you've lost any more weight since the TT!)

    Too much milk?

So long as it's not causing me to gain, is there anything wrong with drinking ALOT of milk? I'm talking probably 5 gallons a week. (a gallon is 4 liters, right? I'm Canadian, so I'm trying to translate for the US!) This has been going on a couple months. It just makes ma belly feel good! :tt1:

    Too much milk?

I had a full blood work up done just a little over a month ago, and everything was fine, so I don't think that's a problem. We wouldn't be saying I must be lacking tar or nicotine if I was seriously craving cigarettes though, would we? Really, I just think I like it... abnormally much. Is there anything you can do to prevent kidney stones from forming while still letting me keep drinking milk, I wonder? I do plan on cutting down, cause it's just ridiculous, but still... I could already be growin' some stones as we speak. The pus in milk will definitely stick in my mind... thank you! haha Maybe that'll aid in my recovery! Yikes, we ARE getting ripped off on milk I guess. Gas just went up too, and is now $1.28 a liter (=4.84 a gallon) for regular. And isn't it bad if you guys pay more than $4 a gallon?

    Too much milk?

yeah, I eat normal meals like everyone else. I don't understand how I can eat normally and drink so much milk and still be ok, but as long as it's working, I'll do it, cause I loooooove milk! haha My boyfriend and I joked that I transferred my addiction from cigarettes to milk, and now I've got a gallon a day habit! I get a little antsy if I start running low, and can't get to the store. I purposely drive all the way out to costco for milk because it's $5.19 there, and $7.19 at the nearest grocery store. I'm hardcore! lol (how much would a gallon be for you American folks, by the way... out of curiosity?)

    Too much milk?

Yes, I understand about the calories, but like I said, if I don't gain, I don't care how many calories I'm eating (don't and never have counted calories). I'm wondering if there are physical problems that can come with large milk consumption.

    Wierd Question for Women

I too am quite deflated... to quote some wise person I once read here: "I lost my boobs, but I still have the bags they came in!"
  20. what if you tell them that you're a back sleeper, and it chokes you at night while sleeping!?
  21. Hello Canadians, I'd like to know who you were banded by, or are getting banded by. Thanks!

    Ottawa support group

What I was just wondering is if yes, they're ok with you going to see other people for fills, but don't want to be involved with training or recommending those people? What is it that this Dr. Bishop is waiting for before he'll do fills? Just wants to know that its ok for him to do your fills? Is he the Dr. doing fills for SWLC? (I'm just being nosey, obviously... haha I'm no where near Ottawa and not from the TLBC either  )

How did you decide on a goal weight?

I just divided my start weight in half, which also happened to be in the middle of the healthy BMI scale, and that was that. Never thought I'd actually get there.

    Ottawa support group

I'm just curious, has the TLBC 'approved' any outside Dr's to do fills on their patients before? (ie: are there any Dr's they send patients to, or do they just give the DVD and you're on your own to get your GP to do it for you?)

    Scared

Welcome Sphil, Don't worry so much  and stop reading in the lapband removal and the complications areas! The instances of those kinds of problems are really low if you look into it... and you know you're always going to see more people talking about what goes wrong than what goes right, right?! It's good to be informed and know what COULD happen, but now you know, move on and start looking at all the success stories! Mandi
