My pain is in center of my chest and back. Same thing as you, I’m almost certain it’s the hernia repair. On 12/15/2018 at 09:17, Khrymson said:
My doc fixed the same hernia in me, and I woke up with the most excruciating back pain from it. One of the resident docs said the hernia repair wasn’t what was causing my pain, but couldn’t give me a better answer as to what it was, and it was exactly in the middle of my back where my diaphragm runs.Khrymson and quana711 reacted to this -
Yesterday was surgery. He fixed a hiatal hernia that I didn’t know I even had. Sore this morning, especially when using the incentive spirometer. Took my first drink this morning and it was so good.

I’m scheduled for the 14th.

Wickedwinner - I’ve been on my preop diet since the 30th. Eating very low carb, portion controlled meals. Also just had my preop appt yesterday with the surgeon, lifestyle specialist, and dietician. This week I plan to get my house in order, some meals planned for my family, and then pack my bag. I’ve known since September 27th that surgery for me would be the 14th and I’m still nervous and feeling scatterbrained and unprepared. ❤️

While I appreciate support I’ve decided I am the ONLY person who will use this tool to succeed or to fail. I am the one who has gotten myself to this point (obesity and all the things that come with it), no one forced me to eat crappy or not exercise. So yes, if my family gives me good jobs along the way, ultimately I have to support me and be my biggest cheerleader and also my biggest critic.

❤️❤️❤️ my surgery is the 14th and I’ve been all over the place emotionally. I have doubted my decision, thought it was the greatest idea ever, almost convinced myself I could lose the weight without surgery (because the other 300 times don’t count), and right now I’ve settled on the emotions of who’s going to do everything around my house while I’m healing and can’t. No one seems to be able to find their own heads let alone do the vast amount of chores/responsibilities that I have. You are not alone and we will support you. I haven’t told anyone other than my mother, husband, and 2 of my older children. I am not sure how to handle negative comments so I’m not opening myself up to them before surgery.

Just finished my pre-op education class and whoa... so much information. The only thing left for me before surgery December 14th is my pre-op diet that I start the 1st which is low carb high Protein, and then my pre-op appointment with the surgeon on December 6th. I’m going into this holiday season grateful for a new lease on life. ❤️

I haven’t been binging, but we do visit favorite restaurants on date nights and I’m making a lot of my favorites for thanksgiving. I’ve tried to be conscious of when I feel full and am trying to stop then rather than “cleaning my plate”. My surgery is the 14th, so December 1st is the day I start my Pre-Op diet. I’m blessed that I do not have to do a liquid diet like most, but rather a low carb, low fat diet.

Had my EGD today, my H-Pylori is gone (thank the lord, I was dreading more pills lol) and I have a small hiatal hernia. Otherwise I’m in great condition and approved for surgery December 14th. by my surgeon. Just waiting on the final OK from insurance. How’s everyone else doing?

I have my psych evaluation, pre-op education class, & pre-op doctor appointment scheduled. The only thing I’m waiting on is my EGD.
Psyched reacted to this -
I tested positive for H-pylori, so I am on day 10 of 14 days of medication (20 pills per day UGH). I asked the nurse if this was going to slow things down or change the plan and she said no. As of now, I have my psych evaluation November 6th., Pre-Op educational meeting at the hospital November 20th, and my pre-op appointment with the doctor on December 6th. The only thing they haven't scheduled yet is my EGD. If I haven't heard from them by the end of the week I am going to call 1st thing Monday morning. It's getting close! Hope everyone is doing well and is on pace to have surgery still in December.

I have my psych evaluation left to submit to get my pre-certification for surgery. I’m nervous but they seem to think it will all go through without a hitch.

Yesterday was surgery. Today is going good. Hurting mainly at hernia repair site while having some spasms when I drink. Otherwise I’m walking every 2 hours and feeling more normal every minute. How’s everyone else?
