    Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! Sorry, I don't post on weekends either, but I'm happy to report that this weekend was MUCH better than last weekend (notwithstanding my decision to eat FUDGE yesterday! umm, hello?!?!?! well, I'll forgive myself because Flow came to town today and I'm a chocolate addict around this time!) Puddinpie -- ever consider FUDGE for your "free day"!?? That will definitely get your calorie intake WAYYYYYYYYY over 1200 :):) Actually, when I used to do WW, I remember people talking about free days as a way to break the metabolism... I don't have that problem yet. I need to work on getting "good days!" but then I think a free day sounds like a good idea. Ok, so here's my weekend so far Friday -- walked about 15 blocks -- 150 cals Powerbar 240 milk -- 90 cals grilled chicken w/light dressing -- dressing is about 45 cals and chicken is about 180 = 225 cals Cantelope/melon -- 50 Hummus -- 125 Grilled chicken -- 200 Tahini -- 250 Half a small pita-- 50 ------ 1230 total cals - RMR -150 cals = -695 Saturday -- GYM FOR ONE HOUR! 20 minutes on elliptical and then 20 minutes with weights (500 cals):clap2: Powerbar -- 280 Grilled chicken breast-- 150 Honey mustard -- 40 crackers -- 60 cals low fat cheese 60 cals ham -- 70 cals milk -- 90 chicken KFC with no skin -- 200 3 white wine spritzers -- 200 half a Protein bar -- 140 --------- 1290 cals - RMR of 1800 - 500 cals = -1010 Sunday -- walked around Newport, went sailing (but just sat there really!) Maybe 150 cals Powerbar -- 280 milk -- 90 bloody mary -- 120 2 clams casino -- 130 bit of fried clam -- 30 cals 3 french fries -- 40 4 bits lobster salad - 120 butter -- 100 fudge -- 220 peanut butter - 190 milk -- 80 peppermint patty -- 160 popsicle -- 25 ____________________ 1575 cals - RMR - 150 = -375

    Oh! I forgot to ask a question -- I can't figure out how many calories I should count for my daily lunch of grilled chicken. It's this skinless, white grilled chicken breast, thinly cut strips... and I put about 2/3rds a cup of it in a soup cup and add some light blue cheese dressing (VERY TASTY AND FILLING AND EASY!). Anyway, I can't really figure out how many cals the chicken has??? I don't think there's much oil in it, if any.

    Hello all!! Ok, I'm happy to report that I had a butt-kicking class at my gym last night. I used to go pretty frequently last year and then just completely fell off. Nore sure why... Oh yeah, because deep down in side, I HATE EXERCISE :biggrin1: :biggrin1: Nah, it feels good when I'm doing it but the before and after are tough! ANyway, point is that I was nowhere near as strong as I was last time I was in the class -- could barely do 5 pushups-- BUT I MADE IT THROUGH THE ENTIRE HOUR WITHOUT QUITTING! So, I'm giving myself a big pat on the back for that one! Teresita -- how in the world do you get down the McD's french toast sticks?? yummy, yummy, yummy... I'm too scared to try and maybe that's for the best !! :brick: Kee -- good work on the walking! Watch out, the SARGE IS WATCHING US!!! Ladies, I want full food reports ASAP! Wednesday 4/26 cup of milk -- 90 cals 1 cup of grilled chicken + broccoli + light dressing = 200 protein bar-- 240 big leafy salad with cucumbers, 1/2c grilled chicken + light dressing = 150 popsicle -- 60 cals ______________________ 740 - RMR of 1800 cals = -1064 :clap2: Thursday 4/27 --HARD EXERCISE!!! Burned almost 800 calories in one hour Body Sculpt Class!! Powerbar -- 280 FF Tuna fish -- 170 Watermelon -- 50 cals Chili -- 200 cals Milk -- 150 Cheese -- 60 cals 2 crackers -- 60 ______________________ 970 total - RMR of 1800 - 800 cals of exercise = -1630 :clap2: Friday (so far) Powerbar 240 milk -- 90 cals grilled chicken w/light dressing -- dressing is about 45 cals and chicken is about 180 = 225 cals _______________________________ 555 cals as of 3:19 pm.

    Kee!!! I totally do the same thing -- I'm sure we all do! And the funniest part is that I was just admiring your weight loss of 26 pounds and getting all jealous and thinking "damn! I've only lost 17 pounds!!!! DO NOT SABATOGE YOURSELF!!!!! YOU'RE DOING SOOOO GOOD!!!! You'll just have to starve yourself the rest of the day and go for a nice long walk tonight too! Good luck!!!
  7. Hmmm... the fact that I can probably eat most of this stuff makes me think that it might be fill time.... whattaya all think? I really haven't lost much at all since surgery, although I think a lot of that has do with me drinking way too many liquid calories (hello booze!!!). That said, if I can keep my calorie intake down to about 1300 is that good enough or should I kick myself in the butt??
  8. Not at all in my opinion. I went back 3 times in a 3.5 week span until I felt like I had decent restriction. I had NO desire to wait around and still eat like I used to. Some folks are more cautious though... but NOT ME!! :grouphug:

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

    Hi Sarge! I'm reporting late this week -- I'm very sorry!!!!! thankfully I lost the 3 pounds I gained last week, so I guess I'm about where I started... so 4/10 = + 3 pounds to 222 4/17 = - 3 pounds to 219 PLUS, I just bought a tape measurer TODAY so i'm going to get started doing that too! Thanks everyone!

  12. Wow guys! I'm so happy to know I'm not the only drunkie-pants!! I really, REALLY appreciate all of your suggestions and I think I may try the "no drinking for one month" test. It's absolutely true that I just flat out do not lose weight when I'm drinking. I guess 1 drink wouldn't kill me but it's NEVER one drink for me. I go out with friends for "one drink" on a Thursday night and then it ends up being 6 drinks and staying out until 2am. That's sort of the NYC lifestyle and I DO love it, but I've totally put on 30 pounds since I've lived in evil Gotham and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize what the culprit is! I'm actually moving out of NYC in a few months and kind of looking forward to it because I'm hoping it will "Slow Me Down." But trust me, I DO drink very low cal drinks -- almost exclusivly I drink vodka and seltzer Water now. I didn't think selzer has any calories but someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong. Wine makes me get really woozy and I didn't think I could still drink beer. Do y'all still drink beer? I tried a sip right after banding and was in pretty bad pain so I haven't tried it again. BUT I also thought that some people thought it could lead to stretching of the pouch -- what do y'all think??

    Exercise

    the best thing for shin splints is to ice your shins for a half hour after each session and do it religiously. i have been informed that the pain DOES go away after a while once your body has gotten used to the strain again. Ice really helps a LOT though.

    So I realize that like many of my fellow bandsters, I tend to eat a TON of food at night! I'm a total "grazer" and basically HAVE to be eating something the whole time I'm watching tv... I know, I know, that's bad. But still, I'd VERY much appreciate any quick and easy: dinner Ideas?? Snack Ideas??

    Hi RoRo, I'm not really sure if I need a fill. I had a pretty bad PB this past weekend and still definitely get the "golfballs" once in a while. Doesn't that mean I'm restricted enough?? I really don't know... there's no science to this stuff, that's for sure!

I still have a problem with getting up to about 1500 a day (which I never really thought was that bad given that I'm 5'8)-- what is everyone's average, depending on their weight??     Thanks everyone -- C, what is a crispy mini? Also, I do try to eat the frozen dinners, but they have a lot of carbs that don't really fill me up. I really think it's just psychological though! I feel like I NEED to eat chocolate and cheese (my two biggest vices by FAR) every single night!! Help!!!!!!

    Hi All, as much as I hate to have to count calories, I think it's probably the only way to help me! I have a REALLY hard time staying below 1200 cals a day -- does anyone else have a hard time with that? I think I'm at a pretty good level of restriction, although I think I may be having the "soft food syndrome" issue. I'm totally scared of solid foods because they're so hard to eat! Monday 4/17 BFEST half a protein shake with water and splenda -- 65 cals teaspoon of Flax seed oil -- 70 cals LUNCH yogurt -- 180 cals one snickers mini -- 45 cals Instant oatmeal with water -- 130 cals One Mrs. Fields Cookie (ugh!!) -- 220 DINNER one piece of ham -- 60 cals but but pb'd it up 3 mozzarella sticks - 240 2 Kavli crackers - 80 cals tomato/bruschetta sauce with crackers -- 25 cals tomato soup with skim milk -- 225 + 91 = 316 two fat free WW fudgcicles 60 cals each = 120 cals ________________ 1485 Total Cals Tuesday 4/18 (so far) MORNING protein shake with water -- 120 iced coffee with skim milk -- 50 cals flax seed oil -- 80 LUNCH 2/3rds cup grilled chicken -- 110 cals fat free blue cheese dressing - 60 cals SNACK yogurt -- 100 cals 520 Total Cals (as of 5:30 pm)

    Road to Onederland Challenge!

    Well, how did y'all do on Easter break? I gained about 3 pounds unfortunately... Went out to dinner 3 TIMES with my BF's family and they don't know I'm banded, sooooo.... instead of ordering solids and worrying aobut PB'ing at dinner, I ate pasta, eggplant parm and veal parm!!! Aghh!! Plus, lots and lots of booze and several cookies and sweets! And here I am getting soooooo discouraged, but what do I honestly expect to happen right?? I guess 3 pounds isn't actually all that bad in a way. I just get sad because I look at the calender and realize it's been almost 3 months since surgery and I haven't lost much at all :confused: Ok, enough whining! I am back on track this week ladies!!!

  25. Since I got some real restriction a few weeks ago, I have PB'd twice. Once last night on a piece of deli ham of all things! Ugh... so not fun and very, very painful. It's very weird what causes it...
