Hey guys! Hope all is well with everyone. Just an update, after having gallbladder removed I feel SOOOOOO much better. I've noticed that I am able to eat pretty much everything (just in smaller quantities). The diet has started to struggle a bit when it comes to making the best choices. But at least I realize it and can correct it ASAP. In June I hit the -100 lbs mark and broke down in happy tears in the locker room at the gym. It has been very hard not to compare myself with others who have had the same surgery. But we really are very different and will lose/gain at different rates. Best of luck to everyone! Remember not to be so hard on yourself. You did this because you love yourself and want better health for yourself.

Got a Facebook memory today of me at my highest weight. It just happened to be a year ago today. I can't believe in one year I have lost 50 lbs! Y'all that's the equivalent of my dog! Of course 40 of that has been since surgery but I don't care! That's 50 lbs gone forever! Hopefully before 2020 it'll be 100 lbs! I just wanted to share, thanks for reading [emoji1]

Hope your gallbladder surgery goes well. I had mine out 10 years ago, and haven't missed it a day since. I was in soooo much pain before it was removed, and it made a huge difference for me. I hope your experience is similar.

Surgeon says gallbladder comes out tomorrow. Praying that this will put an end to the painful episodes and trips to the ER that I’ve been having recently. Hope everyone is doing well.

I know a lot of people think "what the h3ll have I done". I was one of them. Your body I, furious at you for the lack of food, you're swollen from surgery still, and all those hormones are pouring out of the fat that is melting off of you. But I promise it is fleeting. It happens around a month to 6 weeks. When your diet is released to more normal foods. When your body adjusts to the hormones and diet. And when YOU start noticing the difference in your own appearance. Hang on. It's not easy, and mentally draining at first. But soon you'll forget you have been sleeved. Thinks become normal again.

Sludge hurts like hell. I dealt with it for 3 years before finally with fighting I convinced them to take my gallbladder out. You don't need it and sludge can cause it to become necrotic, like mine did. It will also cause all your other organs to become inflamed and hurt, like your pancreas and liver. Fight to get it removed, I would if I were in your place

Bought myself a new Fitbit to Celebrate making it a month after surgery. Helps that it was on sale at costco. :)

Thank you for saying this. I don’t know if anyone follows Dr. V on YouTube... but he has given me a lot of really good information and it’s totally worth checking him out. He has a YouTube video on working out after weight loss surgery and I found it very interesting. He doesn’t recommend going to the gym for most due and it makes total sense.

Well, bub, there are a lot of fat people on here and many reasons that make it harder for people to exercise ranging from not wanting to be fat shamed at the gym, family responsibilities, economics, or a disability like I have. DO NOT FAT SHAME PEOPLE HERE. It's very rude and I reported your post.
"Sorry I was just playing." Does not excuse unacceptable behavior.

Big milestone today. I ran out of excuses to not exercise since my 10/15 surgery and got back on the treadmill and made physical therapy appointments. (I have a bad back.)
I also started counting calories, Protein, carbs, and Water, which is not required by my Surgeon during this adjustment period.

In order to help me get through my stall (and save myself some mental anguish), I downloaded the Baritastic app and added my pre op measurements and now my post op measurements. Even if I can’t see that I’m losing or the scale doesn’t move, my measurements don’t lie. My body IS changing, and I just need to relax and trust that this WILL work. It has worked for others before me who were not ideal patients, so it will work for me. And it will work for you too! God Bless, don’t stress. Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’re body will catch up.

I’m relieved to hear that I’m not the only one going through a frustrating stall so soon after surgery. I’ve been a little hard on myself because the scale hasn’t moved in 10+ days. My pcp took me off my thyroid medicine and I swear that has a big part in it because I’ve been feeling sluggish and a bit depressed. I wasn’t ready to be off my thyroid med yet, and it makes me angry. My numbers were low normal (just like when I was started on on my med). I get to have my thyroid levels retested on December 24th. So fingers crossed for good news

Every doctor has their own food progression plan for their patients so I'm not sure if you are eating too much or not but I do know you are not alone in the stall. My surgery date was 10/29 and I haven't lost any weight in 8 days and I'm only down 8lbs since the 29th. It's frustrating especially since my program seems to be one of the stricter ones. (I only get three small meals - 2 oz. - per day and three 8oz. Protein shakes) but I keep telling myself there is no turning back now and eating like this, there's no way this stall can last forever. I asked our nurse about it and she said for the first 4-6 weeks, the body is focused on healing more than weight loss and things will pick back up. I hope she's right and not just trying to appease me for the time being.

I had my VGS surgery on 10/26. I have not lost any weight for 13 days. I am just starting soft foods and I try to eat between 5-6 meals a day and I have about 2 oz at each meal. Am I eating too much?

Seems most of us who were sleeved in the last 3-5 weeks are all experiencing the frustration of the scale sticking. Sucks! But it seems to happen to everyone...it will pick up for us too!

Yes, as soon as I stopped the pain meds the muscle spasms went away. Hopefully yours is the same way!

I have had some Premier Protein and Bone Broth with as much Water as I can sip in a day. I started taking my Vitamins again as of yesterday. Flinstones x2 day, liquid Calcium 2x day, B12 and b50 b complex once a day, plus my levothyroxine. I was thinking it might have something to do with the b vitamins. ?? We’ll see if anything changes today. (Fingers crossed). It’s been difficult for me to rest.
