  1. My doctor doesn’t need me to be on a liquid diet, however, I’m a little apprehensive so I’ll probably do a 5 day liquid diet at the end of May.
  2. Funnily enough, only my partner and a few friends I’m not that close to know. I have a weight loss Instagram account (@drasticdea_x) and a few family members found it, except my parents. My mum is completely against the idea and talked me out of having the VSG last year. I’ve decided I’m not going to tell her until the day of or day before surgery. I can’t afford to hear any negativity right now. Another close friend of mine is extremely judgemental and believes obesity surgery is for lazy individuals.
  3. I work a desk job too and plan on getting back into work the following Monday too. I will be leaving the hospital on a Friday.
  4. Absolutely!! Wishing you all the luck in the world!! ❤️
  5. The fact that you trust the surgeon is so key! I'm really glad you were able to find a good place to have it done at an affordable rate. I'm really lucky that my insurance here in the US covers it, even if I have to constantly push back against them ? And as far as this being your first surgery... while no one ever really wants to have surgery (I think??), I think it will help that this is something you chose as a step to help yourself become healthier. Plus you have some time to prepare yourself for the idea of it! I was terrified the first time I had surgery (two years ago... and an emergency surgery at that ☹️), but things wound up going extremely smoothly. Just remember you're in good hands and have a team taking very good care of you! Thanks for the encouragement! I’m constantly reminding myself of this! Thank you! ❤️
  6. Thank you! ? first week of June! I’m quite nervous tbh as I have never had an operation in my life! But i feel like this is my last chance to change! How’s things with you?
  7. Absolutely! Wishing you the best of luck! ???
  8. Hey! I will be travelling to an obesity specialist hospital in Turkey! It’s thousands of pounds cheaper to get it done there and I trust the surgeon I have chosen! Bariatric surgery in Western Europe is so expensive! And the NHS wouldn’t support me because I didn’t have enough health issues.
  9. Hey Kassandra! My name is Deanna! I am 25 years old from London, UK. I have a partner, no children and have decided to undergo the Sleeve surgery abroad in June because I want to improve the quality of my life. I’m 5ft2, 290lbs+ I have PCOS and my insulin resistance has really messed up my cycle. I haven’t had a normal period for over a year and I’m afraid of how that’s affected my ability to conceive. I have been obese since childhood and do not want to be obese for the remainder of my 20s and upwards. I like being curvy so I don’t want to be slim/skinny but I definitely want to feel fitter and healthier in myself.
  10. Yeah lol wishful thinking. Tbh I’m not looking to be “skinny” which is what I’d be if I reached the ideal weight for my height. I like being “thick and curvy” just healthier with less belly lol I’m 100lbs give or take from achieving that look.
  11. Hello ? I will be having my Weight Loss Surgery in June 2019 and ideally, would like to have plastic surgery 6-7 months after just in time for my birthday. How long did you weight before having plastic surgery?
  12. That’s awesome! I’m hoping I’m as successful as you! Ideally I’d like to lose 100lbs in 6 months. I’m currently 288 with high muscle mass. I’m hoping my muscle will assist me with the process! Either way, I won’t stress too much!
  13. Wow! How did you lose so much weight so quickly? What was your regime if you don’t mind me asking? When did you start working out after surgery and how often? And any foods that helped you with weight loss?
  14. Unfortunately, I have also been morbidly obese - since 5 years old, so I had no reference. My doctors wanted me to be between 117-130lbs for my height, but tbh that's way too small for me. I do not want to be thin - I like being curvy, however, I have chosen 170lbs simply because that's the highest weight I can be to qualify for liposuction and a breast augmentation.
  15. oh okay awesome! sorry i wasn't sure because of your profile haha!
  16. Yes - I started piling on the pounds at 5 years old. I recall being 180-190lbs at 13 years old - US size 14. I was put on diets constantly and forced to be active, but I kept on getting bigger and bigger. My parents would shout at me in frustration as they didn't understand why my weight kept creeping up. There were snacks all over the house - my parents were and for the most part have always been of average weight, or at most 15lbs overweight. I don't think they thought for a second they'd end up with a morbidly obese daughter. Especially, my dad, he was and still is very athletic. He was a Judo Instructor, he swims, cycles go to spinning class, runs 5k and 10k marathons - he's also done a triathlon. I am an only child, and I think the degree of loneliness I felt growing up as an only child drove me to overeat and overindulge in video games - 16-hour gameplay. Waking up at the crack of dawn and not resting until 11 pm. I had some good times, but I honestly think I was depressed between the age of 10-15 years old most definitely.
  17. Yes, I think I am in the same boat. I have high muscle mass too. Ok - I'm going to go ahead and get the sleeve.
  18. Amazing! So inspirational! This has made me feel good about my journey! ?
  19. ballroom competition? wow! that sounds amazing! I don't think we have anything like that in the UK - not London anyway. You've made amazing progress! I hope to be in your shoes once I have my surgery. This will be my first operation ever and I'm not having it locally - I'll be travelling to Eastern Europe/Western Asia where it is cheaper. Were you over 300lbs on your surgery date? or did you have to lose a little on a liquid diet beforehand?
  20. 96lbs in under 5 months!! Wow - what do you think made you successful with weight loss in such a short period of time?
