I too wanted to avoid the dumping and malabsorption. My husband and I entertain a lot. He’s a gourmet home chef and we host dinner parties during which we paid wines to courses. I also don’t have aspirations of being skinny. I want to be healthy and live a life not impeded by my weight. I have no goal weight. I have a goal lifestyle.

Down 15 pounds preop, another 6 since surgery 12 days ago. Plus, I’m 57 with my post menopausal metabolism. Not exercising much yet - that will start soon. -

Making it too hard. Just calories. I am expected to exercise 30 minutes a day too. -
My first little NSV 12 days out from sleeve - I left my clothes in the dryer until fully dry, not worrying about shrinkage.

My Nut has a goal of 800-1200 cal per day. And MyFitnessPal keeps yelling at me to hit 1000. I’m perfectly happy to target 1000/day. -

My hub is in the hospital, so I’m navigating the hospital cafeteria. Spicy Pinto beans with extra broth that I use to mash and a dollop of guac are fabulous! Greek yogurt, hummus and cottage cheese are also working well for my week 2 sleeve post op. Yes -

Well I have enough clothes in various sizes to closet shop for 80 pounds. But I did buy my favorite work slacks in several sizes so I can always have pants that fit me. -
Getting to eat very mushy real food. Yum.

1 week out. Gained 5 post op but now 4 pound loss. But constipation problems that have just resolved, so I may have a laxative effect. -

I truly feel your pain. This is gross, but I sometimes have better luck squatting in my shower and using my hand held shower to moisten down under.

2 days out here with sleeve. No pain, just a little discomfort so I’m using Tylenol. -

Congrats surgery twin! I'm focused on 60 grams of protein and 60 ounces of water. Using 2 premier pure protein for 60 grams of protein. Decaf coffee in the morning for liquids and drinking 2 tumblers to get me there. -
Home from surgery. Went well and I was discharged yesterday before noon. Just using Tylenol for pain. Definitely not hungry. I did gain 4 pounds.

I had no pain whatsoever. Mosquito bites hurt more.

Questions on your experience with the Lap Band

The only lap band procedure my surgeons are doing is removal. I have mine removed a year ago. Going with sleeve tomorrow. But for the first few years I was very happy with it. But the dilated esophagus, horrible heartburn, pain with eating had to go. I would not recommend. -
My surgery is today. Feeling scared, but also determined.
