Yes great to hear that all is going good you deserve to brag I'm 8 days post op and doing good down 26 lbs from starting my liquid diet before surgery
but still struggling with wired feeling of fear and anxiety/ depression not sure how to describe it I should be very greatful for everything I've gone through I know God has me and he will see me through this. God bless everyone on this journey

Congrats on getting here. Don't let the nerves get the best of you. Concentrate on the excitement. It's a new challenge in your life but one that you do not have to go through alone. Just from this site alone you will get tons of encouragement and support, as well as knowledge from those that have been through it before you. One week before my surgery (8/20) and I am a ball of nerves!! I have been fine up until I woke up this morning feeling like I was on the verge of an anxiety attack...smh lol. Now that I am done with all the insurance, pre op appointments, fmla/std filing, picking up meds, pre and post op grocery shopping, and start 7 day pre op diet tomorrow, it is finally starting to hit me that this is really happening. Like, I am having major surgery, with knifes cutting me and taking out part of my organ, and my life will never be the same (for the better!!!) Lol. I am still so very excited! Just a little nervous now that things have slowed down and I am in the final stretch to the next chapter of my life! Please keep me prayed up!!

My consultation with my surgeon was in December 2017. Surgery was in June.

I know everyone wants the process to go quickly but I’m so thankful it took longer. I really got to prepare and deal with my issues with food. Made the pre-op diet and liquid post-op diet a breeze.

Yes, my surgery went well. Came home the next day, little gas, no vomiting or nausea. Day 2 pain was a 5, Day 3 the pain is a 2 and more discomfort than anything. I'm trying to get my fluids in. But everytime I take a sip, it hurts!!! Ughhhh

My surgery is tomorrow! I am sooooo utterly nervous! I know I will have to take a Xanax tonight in order to relax. I am also going to be freaking out and shaking tomorrow at the hospital. I promise to let you know how it goes! Just know that my fear is so bad that I feel like I am going to die. This place has really helped me with my nerves. Since your mentality is so negative, it is imperative to make sure to listen to positive support from others!! Good luck!!

Prayer on the way and congratulations! Make sure you have your lap bar down because you are in for one heck of a ride!!! I am almost a year out and still can not believe how well this thing has worked and how much more energy and stamina I have. I do believe you will come out on the other side thinking this was one of the best decisions of your life!

It’s finally here- I go to the hospital tomorrow morning for my gastric sleeve surgery! Strange mixture of anxiety and excitement. All prayers and good vibes appreciated!!!! See ya on the losers bench!

Just curious on how long some ya'lls process was from first surgeon/doctor consult to surgery date. I feel really lucky on how fast everything has gone for me (mainly due to the minimum requirements from my insurance). Had my very first surgeon consult on June 27th, insurnace approved July 25th, and surgery scheduled for Aug 20th! My nerves were bad waiting just the one month...lol. How did ya'll do??

For my surgeon’s office you have to go to an informational session before you can be seen in the office. I went to that session at the end of February 2017, first consult was March 2017, 6 months of insurance weigh ins and finally had surgery November 14, 2017.

No more than me , Darlin' No more than me. Some days it seems like a beautiful dream come true!!!🌈

Well I'm not too typical but here it goes .
March 9 2018 went to informational seminar
April 25 2018 Met with staff psychologist at OSU
May 24, 2018. Met with CNP, Dietician , Exercise Therapist , had weight recorded, did presurgical blood work
June 6th 2018 started on Vitamins and minerals to address deficiencies
July 17 2018 Met with Surgeon for Pre-Exam
August 24 2018 meet with Anesthesiologist
September 5 2014 RnY surgery at 7AM
If that doesn't look like enough specialists-- met with Pulmanology,Cardiology and sleep Study Specialists December 2017-January2018 while enrolled in different program- transferred over and glad didn't have to repeat!😛👍😷🏣

My friend had her surgery last August and she struggled in the beginning. She cried a lot. She had regrets. But as her stomach healed and she was able to actually chew food it got better. Our relationship with food will absolutely change but remember why you did this.

My first consult was April 10th..... I had all my appointments done by mid may. All results submitted to insurance and a week later I got my surgery date of July 16 which was perfect timing since I work in a high school. So it was quick I thought

My consult was May 30, 2018 and my approval was June 20th and surgery was July 3rd. So I am currently 4 weeks post-op.
