  1. i have to travel alot with my job also. i am now 4 weeks post-op. everyone is different and you should probably ask your surgeon what he thinks about you going that far away so soon after your surgery. i went back to work 1 week after surgery and ended up having to take more days off because i was just soooo tired. plus it was a very emotional time for me (which i didn't expect) and it would have really upset me to have to be in a social eating environment. good luck:smile2:

  2. i'm having the exact same problem. it started yesterday and hasn't gotten any better today. my doc says it's normal. i haven't had much pain near my port for over a week, but this really hurts. it's like a sharp stabbing pain right at my port. is that what yours feels like? i'm really kind of worried.

  3. i'm feeling really sad. i feel like i'm being left out of everything that goes on in my family. we all have let our lives revolve around food and right now i'm the only one that can't enjoy that aspect of our life and i'm feeling very isolated. i wish my husband were a little more understanding and not have them all eating my favorite foods and having cookouts while i'm going through this liquid diet part anyway. he also invited a friend's kids to spend the weekend with us without asking me and i got overwhelmed. i'm kind of angry with him for doing that, but i also feel a little guilty because he and the kids did not chose to have this sugery. so i have alot of emotions floating around right now.

  4. hi, i had my surgery on 4/15/08 and i'm having alot of the same feelings that you have described. i have broken down in tears twice now watching my family eat real meals while i sip broth. i also find myself getting angry with my husband for continuing to make a big event out of dinner (pizza last night and a cook out for the extended family tonight) but i know he doesn't mean anything. i am so sorry to hear about your loss and i hope that all of us who are experiencing this sadness will cope and come out ok in the end. my prayers are with you:smile2:

  5. hi everyone~ i just got my band on april 15th. this is my first time on this site, even though i've been going through the whole process for almost a year now. i am about 5 days post op and feeling pretty good physically. i am having a hard time emotionally though. i really hope that is going to get better soon. but, i have already lost weight so i'm very excited about that.

i'm glad to be here and i look forward to reading about all the good/bad things we are all going through. it's nice to know there are ppl who understand:)
