I waited oh God probably almost a year before i started experimenting with popcorn. But then that opened the flood gates lol. I can eat a crap ton of it now in one sitting so it's on my naughty list. I don't have bypass but i do get sick if i eat too much sugar or fat in one sitting. Sometimes i feel like an overload of carbs and sugar in one sitting makes me sick so i try to limit it. But popcorn so long as its not dripping in butter is cool for me. My fiance made some homemade popcorn with salt a little butter and freshly grated parmesan mixed in. Omg. Sinful. But yeah. Give it time. You should be fine.

How long have you been out from surgery? Does it go away with antacids? You should probably see your surgeon.

I'll be 3 years out October 5th. My lowest was 140lbs. I didn't stay there long. Ive been in the 170s for MONTHS. I notice tho. If i eat dense Protein, weigh it out and my veggies. That's all i can eat. If that's all i have room for, i can't even think if drinking anything for over an hour sometimes. The less carbs i have the less cravings i have. If i just do dense protein with veggies 3 times a day it's hard for me to get to 1000 calories. It's at night when my sweet tooth gets hella triggered. But im realizing if i keep my tummy full of dense protein i can't risk the heartburn and slimes and everything else that comes with over eating. I have to overcome my mind at this point. Get back in the gym and fix my Water and sleeping schedule. My only saving grace is my restriction. It's why i think i haven't gone back to 200lbs. That and my resolve. Ive been pretty easily maintaining in the 170s but i hate it. Im still in the obese range for my height and it upsets the hell out of me. Just know i know the struggle. Your restriction im sure is still there. You probably haven't triggered it with the right foods. Beef and chicken i can only do about 2.5 oz of if i eat them with 1.5oz of veggies. And I'm full for over an hour and satisfied for several. The denser the protein, the less i eat, the less hungry i feel. Reading that makes the lightbulb go off for me lol. I hope i was able to make you feel a little more at ease. It's not as hard most times as we make it for ourselves. Im here for an ear. I really have no one to vent to without feeling guilty and whiney lol. Sorry for the life story lol.So amazing@Rainbow_Warrior!
Thank you!
So at this point of our post-op journey, as long as we don’t go over 1300 calories we’re safe?
I too have been going from 800-1000 this past week.
The biggest no no I never truly adhered to was not drinking with my food.
I’m learning so much.
I don’t take Vitamins or other supplements, I see everyone is on them. I honestly don’t know why we have to.
I’m forever cold. I have definitely asked my primary doctor why am I ravenous all day, he thinks it’s bc of the GERD, or that I might be anxious.

Wooooow that's incredible. Im not in my 50s yet. But being obese my whole life has left me quite deflated lol. But im not really concerned about it. I just want to get skinny lol. How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? Im 5'2 and 115lbs is a dream. Im almost 3 yrs post OP. Still trying to get to goal.I have almost no body fat left. At my heaviest, 10 years ago, I was 260. I'm at 115 now. As you can imagine (even with very little fat left) I have a lot -- they tell mw 12 lbs -- loose skin in all the areas you would expect. At nearly 55 years old, my skin has done better than I expected but its still a mess especially in my bottom, breasts and thighs and arms. Occasionally, I do pull-ups to tighten my arms and core. At this size, with this much extra skin, there is no firm to be had in the loose areas. It's not in the cards. I knew this going in.
I consulted with a plastic surgeon long before my sleeve and he was very frank with me. He said that there was no getting around what was going to happen and that the smaller I got the worse the hanging curtain appearance of my rump and thigh skin would be. He correctly predicted that my DD's would completely deflate...that my breasts would be awful. Because my breasts would disappear, my back and side skin would begin to drape , too. He also predicted that my belly skin skirt would not be a tremendous factor and likely absorb (it mostly did) but that my abdomen would be wrinkled and soft. He told me that my arms would not fair well but that they would do far better than my thighs. He did tell me that if I was diligent in eating high Protein, my body would maintain muscle well.
He based all of this on the general make up of my body, the condition/elasticity/density of my skin, and my general muscle tone. None of it had anything to do with predicted exercise.
I had a neck lift last year. I couldn't live with that extra skin.

I usually mix my cold brew concentrate with a scoop of Protein Powder, and then unsweetened almond milk, equal, and/or Water over ice. shake shake shake. Enjoy. I make a big one cause i sip it while working. Almost 3 years out

I was ALWAYS cold in the beginning. Didn't help i had it in the fall. Now i run a bit cooler than before. I actually sweat more and get hot but i still stay cool easier than before. Ill probably go back to being cold once i lose this regain but if I'm fasting or low carbing I'll feel cold easier.

Hey there! Welcome back! Ive been trying to shift some regain lately too. Only thing working is back to basics. Protein first. Making sure i get at least 65 to 75g of protein. Trying to keep my carbs under 50. And not drinking or eating junk. My strategy has been filling up on protein and THEN having my snack if there is room after my meal. I do this at night since that's when my sweet took likes to take over. I find im less likely to binge on junk and ive been gradually reducing my junk intake. It's made me feel less inclined to pig out on it. And my cravings have gone down considerably.I haven’t been here for awhile. A couple of years after my surgery, I thought I was good and didn’t need any help from anyone anymore. Boy was I wrong! I lost 100 pounds. In the past 2 years 45 pounds has creeped back on. Now I’m back and ready to focus on losing (again). Any tips to reboot my system? Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Omg same. I only get 30 minute meal breaks. And if i have to buy lunch i might have less than 20 minutes to get it down. Im almost 3yrs out and it's still not the easiest. I can make it happen but I'll definitely pay for it. Especially if it's my first actual meal of the day. My restriction is more so a little goes longer than I'd like. Bitter sweet because i really just want to sit and savor it. But whether i have the time or not, it's a short lived pleasure lol.Oh yeah, I’ll get some chest pains.
It doesn’t come without a cost, but there’s literally no other options some days.
When I do this, I have to not drink any fluids for about 90 minutes after or else the chest pains trigger again.
It’s not how I choose to eat when there’s an option. But it can be done
But even when i do have the time, depending on what it is and how hungry i am 30 minutes is laughable. It'll be gone sometimes in less than 10 lol.

I feel like this has been an issue for me too and i might have just ignored it. So im changing my diet a bit. Going back to my losing phase way of eating to hopefully shift things back down. bread and rice are also an indulgence im getting rid of. It never sits well and takes forever for the rolling feeling to go away. Dense Protein and veg it is then.I feel your pain. My sleeve doesn't like it when I try to indulge in greasy food either!

Ill be 3 yrs out in October and i drink soda and seltzer occasionally. It's not the most comfortable feeling so i don't crave it like before. Thought I'd try to get into kombucha.... it had more bubbles than soda. I go for tea, crystal light or Water. Soda isn't worth it

Ive gained over 30lbs a year plus after surgery. Ive been unhappily maintaining in the 170s. Trying like hell to get to my personal goal. Still within surgeon and nutritionist goal but not comfy in my body still. When i stopped tracking it all fell apart. It's annoying but if your in a rhythm stick to it. It's worth it. Im pushing myself to plan and track now so i can get back into losing. Don't let carbs slip back in. Stick to the rules and you'll be fine. Im almost 3 yrs out and feel like the only thing keeping me stable weight wise is my sleeve. I still have pretty good restriction and im trying to keep it or even bring it back to what it was a bit ago. I know How to fool myself into tricking my sleeve. Just stay honest and track everything good and bad. You'll know what to cut when things start going north. Sorry for the life story. I was around where you were when i started falling off tracking. I made it almost to goal, got engaged and it all just went up in smoke lol. Getting my head back on straight and realizing tracking is what i need to do. Just wanted to help someone from making the same mistakes i made.

Im STILL trying to lose regain from last year. It's coming off sloooow. Im hoping the constant movement from having 2 retail jobs will help lol. My choices aren't 100% great all the time but I'm definitely better than i was 6 months ago. Im still re-adjusting. Trying to get back into a rhythm with jobs, Vitamins, food and life. Essentially i want to get back to 140 so...30lbs. But... I'm 5'2 and would love to see myself at 120 or at least in a healthy bmi range. Back into obese class 1 at 170. So upset with myself. Sorry for the long rant i just have no one to talk to about these things. I'll be 3 years post OP in October and want to go to my 3 year visit since I never went to my 2yr. (Longer story). I was 152 1yr post so i want to do that at least so it looks like i maintained lol. Im a hot mess yall. Pray for me pls

First of all congratulations on such a huge loss so quickly. Second, what is your diet like? You might not be eating dense enough Protein to keep you full for long. Have you gone over this with your nutritionist?
