  1. coffee increase gastric juices and so post op it’s good to avoid ulcer causing things. Also preop so that you don’t have caffeine withdrawals when you’re healing. That being said I am angry and depressed that I have been told no coffee!! 💔💔

  2. Good luck tomorrow! Mine is the 31st and I know I’m a pain baby so I’m nervous but I watched my husband have RNY 17 days ago. He was in pain right after but with the morphine pump and continuous Tylenol IV - it got better. He was up 4 hrs afterward walking the halls like a champ! As a nurse I know the importance of staying in front of the pain and this is what I would encourage. Take the meds at the suggested time even if you aren’t in pain the first few days. He only took oxy for 3 days and has been good ever since. He did religiously walk / even if it was midnight and just around our culdesac. It’s good for reducing risk for blood clots but also dissipating the gas - which I’ve heard is the big part of pain and uncomfortableness . Good luck! You got this!

  3. I am scheduled for surgery on July 31st. In looking at my pros and cons and what I'm most worried about in this life style change is - the possibility of "crapping my pants". I have always had what my husband calls "bad guts". I am lactose intolerant and tend to stay away from all dairy but still love cheese. I have history of CDiff (for 3 months in 2015) and have had diarrhea at least 3 times a week for as long as I can remember. I have been on and off Metformin for last 4 years - its worse with Metformin but still existent without. I have never had an accident - but have had several near misses with CDiff and am terrified to live life long like that... Has anyone had diarrhea issues and "almost crapping your pants" and unable to identify why (lactose, sugars, fats, no gallbladder)? Thank you!!;)
