    new here in Olympia

I also was banded in Mexico. I get my fills with Dr. Neal's staff. I can tell you that it is the only place in the area where your fills are done with fluoroscopy. They charge $350 for us foreigners, but $150 for Neal's patients. I have never met with the doctor, but love his staff. I only wish I could afford to maintain restriction. Luckily, I will be getting an adjustment for Christmas. Woo Hoo. meet you there?

    Washington State?

I'm in Kitsap county and was banded by Dr. Kuri in Mexico. Great surgeon, great price, but I do regret not having more of a support system close to home. My fills are $350 with Dr. Neal in Olympia (fluoroscopy) and I am having limited success after 4 fills. $350 x 4 = $$$$ I am getting a fill for christmas, yay! Mexico is a great place to find experienced surgeons, but aftercare is a bear to find. Flying to Mexico hasn't been as easy as it sounds.

    Dear Red States...

Posting just to subscribe so I can share this later. Thanks. I'm blue, da ba dee da ba da...
  4. Sorry, Guys. I just have to retouch the anti-Christ thing again. I know it is a little off subject but Jesus never mentioned an Antichrist. Did you know? Paul came up with the concept of an Antichrist in II Thessalonians 2:3. John is credited with the title in I John 2:18 Jesus only ever mentioned the false-prophets and false-messiahs preceding judgment day. If you love the red print, you can breathe a little easier. I was never into the idea that Iraq was a priority. I used to catch a lot of hell for sharing my opinions. I live near a military installation and remember that security had been tightened on and off for years because we bombed Afghanistan on a semi-regular basis. Funny it never made the local news. hmmm :peep:

Glad you like the new one. I'd feel bad if you missed the old one too much. :thumb:
  6. Dolphins are much too intelligent to get wrapped up in all this nonsense. Can we use platypuses? :tape:
  7. I am having a hard time remembering the Bush Sr. quote regarding Iraq. I think it was from his book and was downright prophetic. It essentially said that any attempt at invasion or occupation would be a slippery slope that would make any attempt at withdrawal nearly impossible. I first came across it while watching Embedded from Netflix. Check it out, it is a stage portrayal of what the media went through in order to be on the ground with the troops. I found it educational and darkly comic.
  8. I don't believe in marrying animals, only because they don't pay taxes. That is what the legal definition of marriage entails. Tax breaks and property law. So if we are talking marriage as recognition of legitimate households I would say that sibs could "unionize civilly" and be entitled to the same privileges of family that are granted straight couples and with luck and time same sex couples. Marriage is a religious term and has become outmoded in the law. Churches have the ability do discriminate; the constitution should not. Please forgive the "butter-inner".

    question for everyone, please answer

Fluoro for me! I had one blind fill and left a bruised pincushion with an empty band. I thought I had 1cc in there, but didn't find out until later. With Fluoro this would never have happened.
  10. I agree that this will increase the number of voters. As a conscientious voter I fear that the sudden influx of votes cast by people who never cracked the pamphlet (possibly even a newspaper) might undermine the "legitimacy" of the results. Candidates will turn the airwaves into a casino. Bright lights, flashing lurid images, oh wait... they've already done that. I think that people who care, vote. Republicans tend to care more because they view government as a business, their business. I am not a republican, but a pissed off optimist. The behaviors of the politicians and the apathy of the population have caused the low turnout. A lottery is not a cure. Non-voters generally feel un-empowered, oppressed, and ineffectual. If we can fix THAT problem we will have to start printing ballots in overtime. Oh yeah, I agree that bush is a douche. I loved the article linked by Alexandra about the 109th congress too. Thanks.

    Rosacea

You'll be fine. Take a friend and make a day of it Mine and DH's are Feather/Down too. Mine has a hypo-allergenic cover (which is great at stopping "poke-through"), but maybe we have a feather-fungus of some sort? I understand the legacy thing, my quilts were handmade by the various women in my family. I remember waking in the feather bed at my great-aunts cabin and how my nose was nearly numb from the cold room. Inside the bed was as cozy and weightless as a hot bath. Sticking your toes out and reaching for the floor was an act of courage. You should at least wash the pillow and dry it on high with a clean shoe. I use a small plastic bottle glued shut and filled with split peas. I read a statistic once that said most of a pillows weight after 5 years was not good stuff. I think it said that they double in weight. Please don't ask what the stuff is, OK? *gagging sounds*

    Attention Tattooed Lapbanders!

I got a big 'ole tattoo on my back at 170# then gained over 100#. If anything, it squished up a little, but is for the most part, unchanged. The one on my foot is unchanged. I think as long as you steer away from fleshy expanses that do the most changing, you should be fine. Especially if you are a pear... I am an apple-freak.

If they are pop-able I wouldn't know. I am too cowardly to give it a shot. ick/ouch. Im a wuss I figured the pillowcase was harboring used skin and oil (and dustmites- I'm allergic) It could be mental, but it works i think Ooh, Kathy... not to nag... but do you have the ring yet?
  14. Morsaille

    Rosacea

Well, whatever you have, I have. I used to get the little pustules in and around my eye area, now I only get them in my eyebrows (especially the outer edges). It gets better I change my pillowcase everyday or every other day. Derma-Smoothe you say? I bet it is easier on my husbands sinuses than Lavender oil, neat. Maybe I should check it out? Thanks for the update!
  15. I was banded by Dr. Kuri and think I made the best choice, but then again I have never met the other surgeons. I did the Mexico stuff alone, but flew with my family who stayed in CA with my in-laws. It all worked extremely well. My husband did all the luggage toting for me so I wouldn't strain a stitch.
