Me too. I thought about you today when I opened the thread and we still hadn't gotten an update. Scary! But glad you are doing better and that your band is still working for you. Dianamae- Definitely give a personal trainer a shot at you before you find a surgeon. We all love our bands, but we love them because all other avenues led to weight gain. Try everything before you try surgery. And if you get banded, you'll know it is money well spent. Toodles, y'all Brenda

What did they call those UFO chips from the X-files? Remember? Scully had one? But I love 'John Malkovich' and 'Pinky'

How much house will $1 million buy in your area?
Morsaille replied to Wheetsin's topic in The Lounge
Stitchy, On the advanced reply page use the paperclip icon. The pics will upload to the little window and will attach automatically when you submit. Real Estate in my area is much like Mari Maru's. 3-5 bd in a nice house. Depending on location. You pay more for the neighborhood than you do for the house. We are close enough to Seattle to bring that price. Maybe if gas doubles, Real Estate will drop and I will ride a bike. For now the commute is worth it for the city up and comers. -
I have a little american sign language, and can understand french and spanish. I still have hiccups getting the sentences together in my head. I took french in school but learned spanish through immersion thanks to the Red Cross

I am so sorry Jack! I had no idea that what I was saying would come off as hurtful. Yes, I was trying to be funny but I will stop. Seriously! All done. I have no Idea where number 2 came from. Did it really sound that bad? Gosh, I am ready to cry. You were right not to ignore it if I hurt you that deeply and for that I am truly sorry. Wish I had come to this thread earlier because the only thing I can think of that is worse than what you heard, was for me to delay in setting things right. I think of you only as an intelligent and thoughtful bandster. I was, and still am, unaware of any specific ethnicity involved and have MUCH respect for Chiropractors as their hard work, vast training, expertise and dedication reduce the need for painful, expensive, and ongoing chemical treatment by a General Practitioner. Thank You! I was so busy patting myself on the back and laughing at my own jokes that I was unaware I was being crass an hurtful. I really needed to hear this. I am leaving this thread now, bye guys, have fun.

I know it has been said before, but not yet on this thread. Any online poll in a support forum would naturally be non-representative of the bandster community on the whole. Forum bandsters like those on LBT and Obesity Help generally have a reason for logging on. They are usually: 1) newer and seeking guidance 2) more experienced but losing momentum 3) experiencing difficulty and seeking help 4) volunteers looking to give that momentum, guidance, and/or help The bandsters who are doing well and living a healthy active life are generally less likely to visit an online forum on a daily basis. You see these wonderful people logging in and saying. "Sorry it has been so long, I really missed you guys! I had a PB yesterday and thought of you..." Touching. I think that most of us have come to the conclusion that the band can help us when nothing else was helping. To what degree the band will assist is mostly unknown at the time of banding and insurance companies' attempts to skew data by weeding out 'undesirables' through procrastination and hoop-jumping has yet to show in US statistics because US bands still have that "new car smell". WOW, see, this is why I try to stop posting at midnight. *backing away from the soapbox*

My first "PB" - LOL! - vomit, really (a bit gross)
Morsaille replied to gadgetlady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The worst part for me is the golfball, sliming, and all that w-a-i-t-i-n-g for it to happen. The PB is more of a relief for me than anything. -
Was the 'velvet shirt/leather pants' pic on this thread? Sheeeooot! That picture appeals to every vain and shallow impulse I own. Luck for me I am over the 'bad boy' thing. Sorry Jack, you are just tooo bad for me. Chiropractors are only in it to grope strangers, you know it, I know it. Maybe I would be better off winking at DeLarla's ex. Wha'd'ya say SupperDaddy? *wink* Besides Jack, Poodles has already marked her territory. *Blowing kisses goodbye*

My kid-friendly joke (I only have one without the word banana or cow in it): What is green and stands in the corner? A naughty frog

I started losing large amounts about 1.5 months out and only recently has it slowed down. I probably lost about a third of all my hair. I am almost afraid of regrowth since it will probably look shaggy. I am careful about my protein, take a Centrum daily plus half a biotin. Guess it's just me.

I don't (yet), but I have seen several who do. Something like... No NG tube without fluoroscopy, or Do Not Intubate and something about a gastric band or medical implant. I suppose it could come in very handy if you ever got in an accident. I am looking for something a little more feminine than the dog tag style you find everywhere.

Feel food moving through your pouch?
Morsaille replied to Stitchy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have a lot of restriction yet, but when I feel food go through the stoma it feels like a small glug. Like if you were to fill a 2 liter bottle with water and hold it upside-down. Glug, glug, glug... It is usually only once or twice during a meal, and then when the texture is thick. Sometimes I get a small amount of pressure first before the glug and sometimes a little burp after. I can't wait for true restriction. -
has anyone heard of Bio Centric IntraGastric balloon
Morsaille replied to deyanne's topic in Gastric Balloon Forum
WOW! 160 pounds of water? Amazing! Thanks Meyour for saying hello. I hope to see you on lapbandtalk more. -
I agree with Wheetsin. I don't have a dream outfit so much, I just want to look better in whatever I feel like wearing. Whether it is a flowy summer something or cute shoes (and only the cute shoes) :second: I did find an outfit that has "me" written all over it, at least, if I weighed 90 pounds soaking wet and was 6'3". That may be an exaggeration, but I am not sure.

Dr. Fox charges over $400 dollars for a first fill! Blind! I think $350 with fluoro is a much better deal, with Neal... tee hee I will try and schedule with Ms. Kitty Carmichael, ARNP however, for the most part a fill is a fill and I have been known to squeak <- this means that I am frugal. I do not actually squeak... well maybe if you ask real nice. Time for bed, I am getting weirder by the minute.

$8950 which includes all aftercare assuming I get myself to MX. I think I spent about $70 out of pocket for my pain meds, sundries, and tips. I was lucky to find a great deal on airfare which was not included in the package. Tests, Hotel, and transportation to/from San Diego were included.

1. how long have you been banded? since Jan. 17 (3.5 months) 2. rate your level of restriction: B. Little (occasionally you will have a hiccup, your eating the same or a little less than pre-op) 3. how long after you wake do you drink your first liquids, are they hot or cold: hotcoffee or tea within an hour of rising 4. how long after you wake do you eat your first food, is it solid or mushy? I usually wait between 2 and 3 hours before having soft solids like cold cereal but I do enjoy a nice mushy yogurt sometimes if it is mushy, when is your first dense protien solid? usually not before 3 pm 5. does your restriction change throughout the day? a. slightly tighter in the AM looser in the PM 6. how often do you PB? so far less than once/month 7. is it mostly Slime/Saliva or is it the offending food or liquid that comes up? both, but I slime in the mornings if I don't do liquids first. 8. why are you PB'ing? c. i didnt chew good enough d. i chewed good but the texture didnt agree

Ok...Ya'll...need some advice... Newbie
Morsaille replied to rachelbknox's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Rachel~ Adoption is a great thing, but here's a little tidbit I picked up in my reading. Although it is not advised to get pregnant during the first year of being banded; the lapband has been nicknamed the fertility band because many women who have had difficulty conceiving, conceive easily post-banding. My opinion, I have lots of 'em, If you go for the band you may not have to give up on biological children of your own. I am still working toward restriction. I haven't gained, or regained any of my post-op loss. That is huge for me. Something that would have been impossible 4 short months ago. -
I had the pregnancy look and horrible ankle swelling during my liquid phase because of all the soups. The answer to both was water and time. The belly started to dissipate in the second week for me. The only way I was able to get rid of my puffiness was to drink obscene amounts of water. It took awhile and was annoying, but was a short phase overall. Wait until the hair starts falling... Whew! Welcome to the realm of the banded! Take care and heal quick!

I am a ginger lover, I kept raw slices of fresh root with me wherever I went during my early pregnancy and for the nauseous times post banding. I would just suck on one. Ginger tea is great too, just boil your slices. Here's one I learned from donating blood. Pull your knees up. This works better for light-headed nausea however.

I am Irish-ish, so Mor-Saille means sea-willow in Gaelic. It is pronounced oddly ("Vor-sigh-ah-lee"). Most people think I am just being goofy and trying to sound french, like Marseilles. Nah, I'm much weirder than that... Brenda ~sorry this is just a Cut & Paste from the other thread. I am not sure which one has the best chance of survival.
