I was sleeved on 3/21 and have had severe Hair loss as well. It seems like it has finally slowed done. I did try to up my Protein. The doctor told me it would peak around the 6 month mark and by 8 months start to grow back. I hope that is true because I had thin hair to begin with and it is not fun. However, on a positive note I feel great. I have lost 78 lbs. since my surgery and I can walk up and downstairs without joint pain. I am also doing things I haven't been able to do so I am really happy overall.

I was miserable for about a week after surgery and had very little energy. I couldn't have done it. I would also recommend postponing it if possible.

They are or were going through a lawsuit because there is supposedly only 10 grams of Protein instead of the 30 as advertised. Im not saying its not a quality product, just don't want you to short yourself as far as the Protein u think u are getting. If it mixes clear and flavorless I would use it but maybe only count it as 10 just incase. My opinion only!
I do try to get other protein, however that is crazy that it is still on the market and advertising the claims for which it has been sued. You can't trust anything and that is sad. There should be stricter testing on these protein supplements.

This is my first posting here. Just had my sleeve on July 24. I've been told to supplement my diet with Protein Shakes, but I've tried a number of my surgeon-approved ones and they are soooooo sweet. So sweet, in fact, that they make me gag. I drink other liquids, like broth, just fine, so this is purely a preference issue (and a hold-over from pre-surgery days). Does anyone know of any pre-made 20g+ Protein shakes that are less sweet? I've currently tried every flavor option of Premier Protein, and it's getting expensive to buy packs of them only to end up wasting them.
I had the same problem. The only way I could drink and can still drink the Protein Shake is to mix it with Decaf coffee. Another alternative my doctor suggested was unflavored Protein - by GENEPRO 30g per scoop- it truly is flavorless and can be mixed in liquids even Soups and can even be added in things like scrambled eggs to increase the protein.

I had to use vitamin patches because the chewable made me throw up and I still can't swallow a Vitamin because I need a lot of Water to get a pill down. I still use them and I am 4 months out. You can get them here through bariatric pal.

I recall being told to sip Water and to measure out my liquids to make sure that I got enough. I forget the exact measurement but I used a 30ml medicine cup to sip out of every 15 minutes get my Clear Liquids. The Protein Shake was the same thing in the beginning. It took me over 2 hrs to drink it at first. Now when I mix an 11oz shake with 6 oz of coffee I drink that in about an hour. However, you should ask the doctor how much they want you to drink in an hour.

I haven't really told anyone either only a few people that I truly trust. Anyone who asks me how I've lost the weight I just say I gave up carbs. My mom and my husband were not keen on me getting the surgery. I delayed it for about 2 years because of it. Then last year I had severe gallbladder attacks and realized I couldn't live life like this so I told my husband I'm doing it with or without his support. My mom finally understood when I told her my concerns about being sick. They are both supportive of me now. I haven't felt this good in a long time and being able to feel comfortable enough to go on the amusement rides with my kids this summer, being able to get up on my son's bed without a struggle and seeing their faces when I can play longer with them is all the encouragement I need. I tune out the negativity. So remember it is your life it does not belong to anyone else.

Dumping Syndrome w/ gallbladder out & now sleeve

I had problems with my gallbladder and had it removed before VSG. After the gallbladder surgery I still had issues with going to the bathroom, however, since I have had the VSG I haven't had any issue with dumping.
