  1. I still drink on occasion but didnt for almost a year. Now I dont have much of a tolerance though Sometimes 1 drink and I am done. I have trouble drinking it because all the calories. I didn't know how much a gin and juice had till I was at a bar resturant in Nashville. I was getting a drink and everyone of the mixed drinks that I wanted was like 300+ per drink and that is what is the amount of calories I was doing per meal. So I can drink 1 drink or eat lunch. I like to eat.

  2. Wal Mart has those sizes. I went to Good Will and bought shirts and pants knowing that I would not wear them very long. My local area has a place where you can exchange your larger sizes for smaller sizes as well. The owner of the resale shop had bariatric surgery so is understanding

  3. I think we all have benefited from losing the weight and getting healthier. I know my sex drive increased, my stamina increased and I too was having some problems maintaining an erections. With that said I think you need to talk with your provider. Going 4x times sounds a bit in excess. I am wondering if you are replacing sex and orgasms with the happiness you got from eating food. When we eat food we love we get endorphins that are released to make us happy. Hence eating pint of ice cream when unhappy makes you happy. Now that you dont get that you could be using the hormonal release from orgasms to satisfy those needs. There could also be some hormonal imbalances going on. Fat releases estrogen so your body may have been compensating with releasing more testosterone to overcome the estrogen that the fat tissue was releasing. Now that you have lost weight body does not know to shut off testosterone. Just some thoughts

Ok, well great to know then! I'm just not very familiar with the male reqs. :)

My goal is between 60-80g per day as a 5'4" female, totally average in everything. So I get my Protein in cuz I eat 1cup of volume per meal. In that 1 cup of volume, I can get 2-3oz by weight of dense Protein in (21-30g of protein by macro content) That will fill about 2/3-3/4 of the cup of volume and still leave me with room for about 1 1/2 to 2oz by weight of a dense al dente veggie. That fills up my 1cup of volume.

So to reach my protein needs:

60-80g/day and an average of 7g/ounce by weight of protein = 8.5-11.5 ounces by weight of protein per day

    Breakfast: 3oz by weight

    Lunch: 2-3oz by weight

    Dinner: 3oz by weight

And there ya have it. :)

thank you I like the idea of just filling up a cup with 3/4 protein then 1/4 veggie

  5. Howdy everyone. How are you getting in enough Protein from natural sources. I am 6 months out and have never tracked my food. I just ate the foods that I was told I could eat and ate some of the recipes from here. I mainly eat meat then follow with some vegetables. I got to noticing that my hair was thinning. I take a Multivitamin already so I figure it was from not getting enough protein. When I track my protein it is 60-70 a day but I should be getting closer to 100 I don't wanna eat more. I was told to get most of my protein from natural food, but last few weeks been eating Protein Bar for Breakfast because they are higher in protein than couple eggs for breakfast.

  6. Man its great to see other big dudes succeeding.

I got sleeved 10 weeks ago. Starting weight was 440lbs yesterday was 344lbs. 96 lbs down.

People ask if I feel better. I really didn't feel that bad before. My knees do feel better, but as far as overall I don't feel much different. I think I have little more energy, but not a ton. I can still sit in chair and watch TV. I gotta force myself to get my butt up and go do something.

I see all you guys hitting the gym or getting up at 530 to exercise and I still have not found the motivation to do it. How do you guys get the motivation

  7. Holy Crap or not crap. I am in the same boat. I go about every 3 days. They first time I went after surgery I was on the toilet for hours. It was to hard and large to pass I ended up straining till I was on verge of passing out and I tore my rectum. The pain from that was worse pain I have ever had. I talked with colo rectal surgeon that I work with and he said sitz baths. I spent the next 24 hours off and on in the tub. Fast forward 2 months I still get constipated but tear has improved. The pain no longer incapacitates me for days but maybe a few hours. I am doing metamucil twice a day. Have some good some bad. I keep trying to get in more Water to bulk up the stools but don't have that urge to drink like I once did. This is all new to me I use to go to bathroom twice a day.

I'm in my early 40's and have dealt with weight issues my whole life. It is now affecting my lower back (sciatica) as well as dealing with BP issues. I'm just tired of dealing with it and am ready for a change. I have dieted, Nutri'System'ed it, and Weight Watched till I'm blue in the face. I enjoy good food but have come to an understanding that enjoying good food and having it in moderation are a problem.

I have surgery with Dr. Bagnato on July 27th. I have started the Sugar Busters plan and will go to my pre-op this Wednesday (July 18). I have been reading many, many threads dealing with this procedure and feel that (along with my doctor) this is the course of action to take.

I have a family that is very supportive but know that I will be on here ALOT to ask and to gleam info from.

Thank you all for allowing me to participate.

I'm with ya. I have my surgery Aug 1st. I am in my early 40's. Tired of the co morbities and I don't wanna die early. I am with you about moderation.

  9. Howdy I'm new here. My title got you to look huh? LOL What I mean by goldfisher eaters is I eat like a goldfish. I continue to eat till food is gone. I am going to have sleeve done Aug 1st. I start liquid only diet July 22nd. I was wondering if there was other goldfish eaters out there that got the sleeve and how you dealt with the mental aspect of eating. Plus I just love the taste of food. I know that I need to think of it as fuel for my body only but I like the taste and that is usually when I overeat and eat till the food is gone.
