I still keep mine private but the people who are around me wouldn't stop asking and im honestly not too embarrassed or ashamed of my decisions. I guess its a "vibe" or "aura" thing with some people. If I read them and I feel they have a negative type aura I won't tell them, etc.

Yes this was me also. I had some major issues with chicken at first. I think its a little early. I didnt really start in on full meats until about 3-4 months. I still cant handle eggs but I think its just because my pouch doesnt like them anymore.

May I ask why you had to have a revision at 8 months? That seems really soon.

Its basically where you do the same motions as you did right after sugergy with phase 1-4/5 depending on your surgeons "aftercare" guidelines. I would contact your office and ask if they have one. Mine did, funny enough because I thought it was just some rumor from the rumor mill with WLS patients, not so

Protein waters are by far my favorite. I couldnt stomach anymore shakes after a while.
My go to choice: Isopure Zero Carb Grape, Isopure Infusions, Bariatric Pal Fruit Drinks in variety pack, and Bariatric Pal Peach Tea

I had so much dumping and sensitivity at the beginning but now I can eat anything! Found the holidays difficult as so much temptation and tried chocolate for the first time since surgery and had the worst dumping ever. I’ve looked at doing the reset diet for a few days to see if the helps?
Highest weight 303 lbs
Surgery weight 275 lbs
Current weight 203lbsI had surgery 3 days after you, and I am experiencing the horomonal return too and definite hunger. I did ask my surgeons office for the "reset" so that should help too if you are wanting to test your pouch etc. I didn't really eat anything out of the norm myself during the holidays, probably ate a little more than I should have though LOL!

I have to chime in too! Im def the crazy cat lady also, four fur babies at home! Will post some pictures soon!

Oh my gosh! Im so glad someone posted this because I wanted to talk about it.
Honestly I don't like much lately. Everything is entirely too sweet or too salty.
Im craving spicy all the time so I jazz up my veggies and Protein sources with Cajun spices. Most of the things I crave I get it, try it, hate it. Ive also started doing something I didn't use to. I smell everything before I taste it. Like hum...what IS THIS THING....Nope! Not going to like it.
Not only has my taste buds gone wackadoo, my sense of smell has gone haywire and I can smell everything a mile away. Not that I couldn't before but now its ultra sensitive. Last week an employee downstairs was cooking in our kitchen we have, and what ever it was made me nauseated to the point that I threw up an hour later just from the stench. Not to mention she was literally boiling everything in vegetable oil. UH!
I laughed with a friend because I used to eat everything now im ridiculously picky, to the point of annoyance.
Protein Bars? Picky!
shakes? Hate them now so I moved to mixable "watery" type protein sources like Isopure. Only flavor I like is Grape.
eggs? Yuck!
Soups? Picky as heck! Pretty much only vegetable minestrone no noodles. BC noodles taste like rubber to me.
Deli meat? Too much for me threw that up. System cant handle it.
chicken? Barely able to get it down.
Tried the infamous "Real Good Foods" & "Halo Top Ice Cream" both didn't agree with me at all.
So what am I living on? Chicken salad (tiny bit), tuna salad, ham salad (any kind of salad mayo type), Isopure Zero Carb, Quest Bars (ultra picky with these too), Quest Protein chips, Amy's Chili & Minestrone Veggie Soup, green Beans, Salmon (any types of fatty fish), Caulipower pizza, still looking for the perfect organic green juice with low fruit sugars even cold pressed like Buda Juice. Need to check the macros on it.
Just as an FYI - My surgery was 7/30 so im not super recent but it hasnt been very long either.

TBH I can't stand how Premier tastes at the moment. Its so sweet to me. Especially the Caramel, Peaches & Cream, etc. The chocolate is the only one I can get down but with that said im doing mostly clear Protein liquid supplements now.

I kind of noticed this myself after watching a few of his videos and then realizing that he was pushing new marketing materials and programs lately.

My sauce had green Beans and Brussels, garlic and onion powder, celantro leaves, but veggies were super fall apart tender so Kids hardly felt them. Kids lapped it up with real Spagetti, while I did Zucchini spagetti spirals and I felt like I was just having another dinner. Kids also could not tell meatballs were no meat! 😮😄
Ive resorted to doing this same thing! I love putting green Beans in my sauce or in my chili!

I love my chewable Gas X, ive been taking those on and off for the past two weeks. Walking does help, also you need to make sure you are having BM's. Im sure your surgeon told you that but you don't want anything backed up in there. It will get better. I suffered during the first week, and moving into my second week the pain is now on my lowest incision and according to my doctor its more than likely lower bowel gas and BM that hasnt been passed yet. Its going to take a little time. Hang in there.

I have a desk day job and im hardly on my feet, I took a total of 3 weeks but I also had RNY. It really depends on the type of job you have I would assume for you since you are on your feet all day and active probably 3-4 but I would also look at your short term disability benefits, etc.
-
For me almost 2 weeks. I use it every so often now when one of my incisions is giving me grief. I went though almost 2 bottles of Tylenol 3 (Codeine), and I also had muscle relaxants available. Also took some Gas X cause of the incredible amount of gas pain in my left shoulder.

Post op started with many regrets? Ive been kind of feeling that way seeing my weight loss is ultra slow at the moment but im 8 days out. And im following all the rules. What type of regrets did you have?
-
Just wondering how many of you actually experienced migrating pain post op? At first it was my main incision area on the left side, now its kind of migrated downwards to my lower abdomen in the middle under the navel. Im going to see my surgeon tomorrow for a drain removal im just wondering how common it is or if any of you experienced this? Of course im going to ask him tomorrow I just think it's kind of weird how its either radiating in another place, or moved now.

10 hours ago, AELdoesRNY said:@geminisky I’m guessing it depends on starting weight, activity, and what kind of diet you’re cleared for. I'm wrapping up day 6 of post-op and I’ve lost 7.3 lbs since morning of surgery but I’m having only one Protein Shake spread out over the day and then Water, crystal light, and broth. All of my “eating” is just 1 ounce per 10-15 minutes, total of 64 ounces by the end of the day (most of that is water...). I’d guess my calories have been 200-350 tops per day...
How are you meeting Protein goals at 60g?

I went UP half a pound a couple days ago, and I was wondering how, because I am eating less than 100 calories a day! But weight fluctuates naturally from day to day, so it shouldn’t be surprising. I’m going to focus on my weekly average weight. This week’s average minus last week’s average is my weekly weight loss. I am sure I will still see stalls, but I think weekly averages give a more accurate picture of what’s going on. I’m also measuring my neck, abs, and waist.
Ok I was like about to start a post like how did I gain 4 ounces? Ive been getting on the scale every single day (7 days post op) and I havent gone past 500 cals a day, meeting my goals with liquids and Protein. I gained a ton of Water weight so technically I lost all that, then I just finally started to move past my pre surgery weight. Starting to get down as to why Im not losing more! Im barely 6 ounces different from when I started
