  1. Ugh I am having this problem but I have only been having it for 1 week now so I am not trying to get stressed yet. I am 3 weeks out and the first 2 weeks I lost 10 pounds this last week I have lost nothing. I have started to exercise and since I started to exercise I have not lost so I am hoping its because I am gaining muscle. Maybe I should up my calorie intake since its only between 400 and 600. hmm dont know we will see. But dont get discourged just try different things :w00t:

  2. I was just going to post a question about not loosing... Im only 3 weeks out and have not lost anything in 1 week. I count everything my calorie intake stays below 500 and I get all my Protein  But I started exercising 1 week ago also so Im guessing im building muscle. AT some point I think the scale has to move lol I mean how long can my body go on so little without letting go of the pounds? I dont know lol

  3. thanks... well they didnt take my gal bladder out either they said its fine.. My family was upset about that because mom had to have emergency surgery to get hers out she almost died and 1 week after my surgery my brother who is 26 only 1 yr older than me had emergency surgery to have his out. So they thought I should just have mine out now. But all is good right now  You will love the band we all wake up and think what did I do ... but trust me once your healed you will love love it

  4. yeah!!!!!!!!! I dont really know what you mean by social worker? Is this you psyc. Apt? Well whatever it is I know its a step in the right direction  I had to do the 6 month diet before I could submit to my ins. And it was the hardest 6 months of my life. My dad passed away suddenly at only 44 and They found cervical cancer when I went for a pap. But I made it and I was approved and got the surgery. Its the best thing just to see the scale move in the right direction. Dont worry about your husband they are always worried at first for many reasons. But he will come around he has to

  5. well for a while you will be on Protein drinks you will be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks after the surgery and I know the drinks are expensive but its a must. I like the Atkins protein drinks. Make sure no sugar or carbs in the protein. OK when you start on foods the mushies your allowed fish. I buy the box of individually wrapped tilapia they r 4 oz each. I season with blackening and cook in non stick skillet. Yum 20 grams of protein each with 100 cals and only 2.5 fat :cool2: just be creative you will get it

  6. :cool2: you sound just like me!!! I had my pre op class and everyone in the class was in patient except me. I was so upset I tried to change it to in patient and they said I would have to change my surgery date so I declined. One good thing about out patient means that your healthy thats why I was scheduled as outpatient. You will go in they will get you ready let your family sit with you until they give you the silly meds and off you go. If you live in town then you can go home as soon as you wake up but if you live out of town dont go home until the next day. If your nervous about throwing up let the anesthesiologist know and he will put special meds in ur IV also I was given special pain meds called mepragan fortis it has anti nasuea meds in it and its great  Dont worry I worried for nothing and like my doc told me if anything happens they will bring you to the hospital for an over night stay

  7. Mine was submitted on a friday and I was approved on monday evening.. you have to call the ins if you want to know quick.. they didnt call me and I got the letter like 2 weeks later. I have bcbs of MN I called on tues and then I called my dr let them know and then they got it from the ins. if not I would have been waiting alot longer  Stay on topp of it.

  8. hmm lets not fight ppl lol... Im 3 weeks post op and I am not on liquids anymore. Now I am allowed soft foods  Yum I eat alot of fish tilapia. Well anyways I just wanted to say.. yes we all should follow our dr. I am one who tries to follow 100% I am very scared to pb or throw up or slim.. But we all mess up at some point so lets all calm down this forum is here for us to help each other and upbuild one another I think everyone knows that pizza is off limits but it happened and now she just needs support. So lets try to give some support and not so much

    criticizing

  9. yes this is normal.. Im almost 3 weeks post op im not loosing a pound a day anymore and Ive lost 20 pounds also. I also still have port pain. I just had my apt with the dr a few days ago and he said this is normal my port is also still swollen he said it will be this way for a while since they sticthed it to the abdominal muscle.

  10. it all depends on the person.. One thing is that the bigger the person the more they loose usually also men tend to loose more than women.. My ticket is from my pre op diet until now. The dr said if I need a fill I can have one in 4 weeks. I just started mushies :cursing: Yeah I love tilapia yum :scared2:

  11. OK I have to tell everyone... I bought Glucerna because I thought I should try something different.. The first one I drank I was very happy because it tasted so good a lil while later I was out and I started to feel faint then cold sweats then I felt like I will be sick and very weak.. Then it went right through me like the same liquid coming out the other end. OK so I thought maybe this was somthing else so I drank one this morning.. and the same thing happened now I am in bed sick. I hate glucerna!!!

  12. thanks lynn  Bombaman... They were closed with glue.. they are now open because I pulled the glue off because the dr told me to since there was an infection. If I had not pulled the glue off they would be still closed but at 10 days they should be closing on there own but since the infection I guess they cant.. UPDATE :D I am doiing good the cuts look good not too much puss anymore I think I will be fine thanks everyone
