  1. Hi all. Had sleeve done on the 10th. Currently worked my way to protein shake for breakfast along with drinking water all day in small cups. Also eat ice pops and jello. Haven’t tried a second shake for lunch but I’m hungry. Want to try cottage cheese or yogurt. I see my surgeon on Wednesday-will ask if I can progress. Occasionally drink broth. Tolerating everything well. No nausea. Thank god. Anyone else moved to cottage cheese or yogurt already day 5?

    Surgery Tomorrow

I was a nervous wreck the night before surgery and finally decided to deep breath and calm down. I had faith in my surgeon and the hospital team who would be working on me. I had done my research on the boards and knew that I would probably be in pain when I came out of surgery but I would have the PCA pump and addl meds if needed. All turned out absolutely fine. I’m post op day five now and doing great. Being nervous is totally normal. Meditate. Deep breathe. Take a walk. This is a glorious new beginning!

Time off for surgery and recovery

What type of surgery will you be having done? Depends on the job requirements you have. You can’t life for several weeks and you truly need rest to recouperate. I had the sleeve done on the 10th and I return to work on the 23rd. I am a registered nurse but work from home on the computer. Wanted to give myself enough time to rest and get into a good drinking pattern. Don’t be in a rush to get back. Listen to your body. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
