    Still difficult to eat meat

I’m 18 days post op and now eating puree. I am allowed tuna and chicken with low fat mayo and other fish. Sometimes I feel like it gets stuck in my stomach but most times it’s okay. I can’t wait to eat a meatball again someday.

    New and Need Support

Hi there. I have moderate sleep apnea and wear a cpap that was diagnosed during my one sleep study. My only requirement for surgery was that I brought my cpap to hospital. I was sleeved on July 10th. Best of luck to you.

    Was it worth it?

I had my sleeve on July 10th. I am healing relatively easily and am losing. I was scared pre op after reading these boards because some people have a really rough time. I have accepted that this surgery is just a tool that I’ll use to hopefully get to my goal weight and I’ll have to change my life in many ways to get there but I would say “yes”, it’s been worth it for me.

Headed to surgery in the AM (0600)

Congrats! Keep us posted about how you’re doing post op.

How often do you weigh yourself?

My doctor advised to weigh once a week. Our bodies are constantly changing with fluid levels and such and weights will vary day to day. Always weigh yourself same time of day as well. It is tough though-I’m two weeks post op and I just want to keep seeing that number drop.
  13. I had the sleeve on July 10th. Eating puréed foods now. Slowly losing. Swallowing fine. Looking forward to losing a lot more in the months ahead. Been relatively good process since surgery but I’m having trouble stomaching the chewable vitamins. Working on something else.

    Not tolerating chewable vitamins

Thank you. I will try these.
  15. Hi there. The first week is rough. I am just two weeks post op and still having trouble. Get depressed and now having trouble swallowing my vitamins. It gets better. Some days are better than others. The people on these boards are very supportive and helpful. You aren’t alone. Anything specific you are struggling with?

Best way to introduce eggs into the diet

Wow. Funny how that happens. I will try egg whites only to see if that makes a difference.

    July Sleeve

I hope you have a good nutritionist visit. Yes. Some crafty recipes will make the puréed stage more tolerable. Yes. We’re gonna have ups and downs. Just have to keep focused. Good luck and please keep in touch.

    July Sleeve

Hi there. I’m doing ok. Struggling a little with emotions but ok otherwise. Down about 30 lbs total since pre op diet. Started purée. Tolerating it. Yes. It’s very difficult cooking for the family and being involved with their meals when we can’t eat the same. It’s been an emotional roller coaster for me. I get really down but I know what the end result will be if I stick to the plan and I will lose my weight. Keep in touch.
