Hey YLime, the physicians assistant in my surgeon’s office (who was sleeved a few years ago) recommended Soups by Imagine Foods. I found them at Whole Foods, but I imagine they’re available many places. On 07/30/2018 at 11:57, Ylime said:
Hey - question for all of you that in your post-op phase. One of the items I can have in Weeks 1 & 2 are "Strained Low Fat Cream Soup". What type of Soup would that be exactly? I'm assuming Cream of chicken would be ok. No way I'm eating Cream of Mushroom by itself. What else is there? Is there a Cream of Potato?? What about a bisque like Tomato Bisque?
She particularly loved the potato leek (pictured below) which I found to be pretty tasty! There are lots of flavors though! Hope this suggestion helps a bit 🙃lizvirgo09 reacted to this -
You’re so welcome! I ordered both products on Amazon by the way. Best of luck to you too! 👊🏼👏🏼On 07/16/2018 at 11:52, Irisheyes2 said:
Thank you, I hadn’t heard of these products, I will definitely try them. Getting fluids in is a full time job. Thanks again, good luck with your weight loss.Frustr8 reacted to this -
I’ve tried adding unflavored Protein Powder (ISOPURE) to Premier Protein shakes in the blender to boost the Protein but not the Fluid volume. Also, Dymatize ISO-clear protein Water is helpful. It’s pretty sweet, so I cut it with water and sip on it. Constantly sipping....It’s a full time job! I hope this helps! On 07/16/2018 at 11:11, Irisheyes2 said:
I am really struggling to get my Protein in, any suggestions?Frustr8 reacted to this -
I questioned my surgeon about the NSAIDS post -op as well. (Of course I couldn’t take them pre-op). My surgeon says my risk of ulcers and bleeding are low and finds that the anti-inflammatories really help with post-op pain. Of course I wouldn’t take them if she didn’t give me the thumbs up! I defo prefer them to taking narcotics that just mask the pain. But everyone is different and so is every surgeon....as I’m discovering reading through all these posts! On 07/14/2018 at 07:18, Gingertastic said:
Congrats on your surgery. Just wondering about the use of ibuprofen....I thought that was a big no-no. I know every doctor is different but I’ve seen that in a lot of places.Frustr8 and Chrisb428 reacted to this -
Hey JSwizzle and others! I was sleeved on 7/9 and was also super nervous, especially the night before. The pain was pretty intense directly after surgery, but kept getting better and better. I haven’t even taken narcotics since recovery! No nausea or vomiting either, thank God! I’ve been diligent about tracking my Fluid intake (which also gets easier as days pass) and getting up and walking. It takes forever but I did a mile or so the past 2 days.
It defo helps to have someone at home with you while your recover. Bending over and stuff just won’t happen for while! I also bought a wedge to prop myself up in bed and while sitting on the couch. To help prevent reflux, but also so you don’t have to use your abs so much when getting up/down!
Sorry for the super long post, I just find it helpful to share and know other peeps are out there! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! You got this!JSwizzle, Frustr8 and AliciaL reacted to this -
Just wrapping up day 3 post-op here! Managing pain with just Tylenol and Ibuprofen, and fluids are easier to get down everyday! Walked over a mile yesterday and today! So thankful to have a wonderful support system at home- and reading all of your experiences helps big time! Virtual high fives to you all!!

Hello all, especially the birthday girl @peggilyn72.
This is my first post ever and it is from the recovery room at 6:45am 1 day post sleeve!
Good luck to everyone- it’s defo a bit rough the first few hours after the procedure but nothing you all can’t handle! Try and walk, drink those fluids, take your pain meds! Having a support group of family and friends (like all of you here) is a huge help!
I’m getting to bust outta this place soon and heading home....here’s to the next chapter!!

Anyway, long story short she suggested I start drinking coconut water and low sodium V8 juice (ick!). It’s been 5 days and I really can tell a difference in my energy level. So- there’s a lil tidbit for whatever it’s worth. Maybe it’ll help you a bit?! :)
