  1. Congratulations on getting a date!
  2. @ZeroCool glad you're feeling better! My surgery is tomorrow so I'm excited and super nervous.
  3. If I don't feel like getting on Thursday night I'll check in Friday. You aren't asking a lot at all. It helps to know.
  4. I've wondered the same thing. My surgery is Thursday so I'll try to check in that evening to let you know how I'm feeling.
  5. Me too! What are you having? I'm a gastric bypass.
  6. @ZeroCool how are you today? Hope you're feeling better.
  7. Day 9 for me. The past few days have been so much better and easier. People are totally serious when they say it gets easier. You got this!
  8. Glad you were able to have surgery. Hope you're comfortable soon.
  9. Very true! At night he's eating real food but while we're at work he's joining me. It has really helped mentally.
  10. @ZeroCool glad to hear it went well today but sorry about your pain now. Hope the pain passes quickly.
  11. Even though you don't want to, please report the incident. How many others do they talk about? This isn't acceptable behavior at all. What if someone who isn't as strong as you were to be in your shoes? Think of the detriment this could be on their health and life. So sorry you had to be subjected to this. :'(
  12. Day 8 of pre-op liquid diet and lunch time today was so hard! I wanted a burger soooooo bad. I was even trying to find the calories for a small burger to justify having one. But I stayed strong and had soup for lunch. As of yesterday a coworker has joined me for the duration of my liquid diet. It has helped to have that support.
  13. Thanks. I was thinking some people "felt" head hunger in their tummy. I'm blaming the lack of food for my non-functioning brain.
  14. Any other Asheville people active on here?
  15. How do you distinguish between head hunger & true hunger after surgery? Trying to prepare myself mentally for this part.
  16. Mine started last Thursday. It hasn't been easy but somehow today was easier. My energy wasn't as low as the past few days. I've been struggling with nausea for some strange reason.
  17. @ZeroCool hopefully someone steps up soon to help you Friday.
  18. @AJP I'm feeling the same way. Nausea has become a big problem for me too. I keep reminding myself this will all be worth it in the long run.
  19. Anyone else experience lots of nausea on the pre-op liquid diet? I'm on day 6 of it and the nausea gets worse every day.
  20. How does the pain after a gastric bypass compare to the pain of a laparoscopic hysterectomy or laparoscopic gallbladder removal? Trying to mentally prepare myself for my upcoming surgery.
  21. Only potential issue I see is if you get a steroid injection your need to talk to your surgeon to see when it will be safe to have surgery again. If you're scheduled for surgery within 2 weeks of a steroid injection the surgeon may want you to postpone surgery a bit. Steroids target inflammation so they could potentially affect your healing process. I've had to come off of some of my meds because of this. Hope you're pain free soon!
