  1. I love all of the choices. I never thought about putting different flavoring into the protein shakes. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. I am at the pre-op stage of my journey. When I feel the hunger I just ignore it. I'm not saying it is easy but that is what I do. I don't drink water to get rid of it because that (to me) makes me feel hungry (silly I know).

    Mommies getting sleeved

I haven't had my surgery yet and both of my babies are 25 and 27 year old adults. You are doing the right thing in having the sleeve for yourself first but also for your family (second). You will be able to move more, play with your girls and have more fun as a family. This is one of the reasons I am having this surgery. I want to be able to walk with my husband, have adventures with my husband and my family without having to stop every few yards to take a breather. I feel I am a burden on my husband (more on myself) because I can't do the things we would like to as a couple. Good luck with your surgery and I will be praying for you. 👍

    Unquenchable thirst

Just a question, are you a diabetic?
  8. Isabella I am very happy for you. It has to make you feel good to have such a caring doctor to push for your health they way your doctor did for you. Congratulations. 🙂
  9. I went to a bariatric seminar to get information on bariatric surgery. One of the surgeons gave the talk, since then she has been the one who has ordered all of my tests, so I am thinking she will be the surgeon who will do my surgery but not sure at this point.

How long does the chest pain last?

Sip, sip, sip. I haven't had surgery yer but I have read many posts and people are saying "SIP" don't gulp. As for feeling miserable or nausea I can't give any advise. Take is easy and relax as much as possible, as I have read, it gets easier. Good luck, you can do this.
  11. You will get the support you need here. All of us here are or have been obese. We all need that support and not be criticized for trying to do what is right for us. Just do what you think is right for you and we will be behind you 100%. I have 1 more month to go and hoping I will be scheduled my the sleeve in December. Good luck on your journey. 5

    30 second elevator interview

I am a 62 y/o housewife who loves her husband and children very much. I am waiting for 2 months to pass so I can be scheduled for surgery. I trained as a Medical Assistant but have never been hired. After surgery I really want to be able to walk long distances with my husband and pup Echo, do a little traveling. I am looking forward to a much healthier life with my family.

Am I weird or is it just me

Just need to relax. It was easy to gain the weight but will be a struggle at times to lose it. Don't be in a hurry and do what the your surgeon tells you. It will come off
  21. When I told my older (and wiser) sister she was all for it but asked me a few questions first about it I was sure and why I thought I needed to have this surgery. When I explained that I had thought long and hard on this (about 16 years worth) she is behind me all the way. She herself had Gastric Bypass quite sometime ago and has done a great job at keeping her weight off. Now, my younger sister isn't all for it not sure why exactly but she gave her opinion and I explained why I wanted to do this. Haven't spoken to her about it since.
  22. I will do that. Just to let you know I probably won't be scheduled for surgery until sometime at the end of the year.

    I Can Run

I think that is very impressive. YOU GO GIRL!! Right now (haven't had the surgery yet, hoping for around the first of the year) my goal is to walk around the block without wanting to drop like a fly. Stay strong and keep the good work.
  24. I'm not a T1 I am a T2 but I am insulin dependent. Our plan is to lower my insulin in-take the night before I start my 2 week liquid diet. Once the surgery is done we will go from there.
