I recently, meaning my first appointment was last month, started seeing Dr. Parrish at
Mid Louisiana Surgical Specialists in Alexandria, La.
Anyway I'm going to have the gastric sleeve done if I complete every thing. They seem to be very theral in there weight loss surgery. They put you through the ringer. You have to first get a dozen blood test done, go to a seminar that Dr. Parrish speaks at hisself, then theappointments starts..I have one for nutrition, psychology, physiologist, and EENT Dr. That's what I have so far. I have four appointments on same day because it's a two hour drive from where I live. I know tje phychologist is there to help you identify and fix the underlying problem that you have with eating. I think this place is very professional but also they make you feel at home and reassured when you with them. They treat each patient like they are someone special and you know they gonna do everything in their power to get you healthy.
The only thing I don't understand is why do you have to quit smoking thirty daysbefore your surgery or they want do it.

Does he take Medicare and Medicaid. Oh and how long does it take to finally get a surgery date from when you first see the doctor. Thanks, I will check into that.

May I ask who and where you going to do surgery. Meaning who will be the doctor and where will it be. Oh and one more question how long did it take to finally get a surgery date.
I was told to take a Multivitamin with Iron and minerals before my gastric sleeve surgery and not to take any Nsaids, or birth control that slows or stops your menstrual cycle. My doctor is
Dr. Parrish inAlexandria, La.

I would but I'm on Medicare and Medicaid is just my supplement insurance. Medicare don't give rides and if u don't have full Medicaid u are out of luck. Thanks though for the advice.

I seen Dr. Parrish and I really like him. I'm from Rayne, Louisiana and it takes almost two hours to get there. My orthopedic surgeon set it up. He is taking my Medicare and Medicaid so I pay nothing ,but with all the tbings we have to do before surgery with no vehicle, I just wish there was a really pleasant Dr.that took my insurance in Lafayette.
Finally have my surgery date for SIPS/Loop DS
