  1. I don't do progress pictures, I do progress-dressing! Every month, I try on clothes that had been too small for me. It's great when I find I can fit in them - it's even more brilliant when they become too big for me! I find looking at photos to be too subjective - I tend to see them with my 'fat eyes' - but I can't argue with loose clothing.

    Bread... oof

I can't do white bread at all - it bloats me completely! I can eat 1 slice of toast without too many repercussions though. I can eat a small amount of rice, pasta or potatoes, but I always eat the meat first.
  3. I started with veggies that cooked up soft - beans, broccoli, cauliflower etc. But I was lucky, because I moved on very quickly to salad vegetables - some people can't take anything with crunch until much later. I make sure I chew it very thoroughly and eat it slowly, so nothing hurts or feels stuck. The only food that doesn't agree with me is white bread, and that's no loss really, because I'm fine with whole grain bread or tortillas.

    50 and Up Sleevers

I'm 50. I started losing weight in June and I was sleeved on 30th June. I've lost 81 lbs so far. I don't know whether that's fast or slow, but it's good enough for me! I'm so pleased about my lower back pain going since the op - that alone makes it all worthwhile.
  5. I started with looser-textured fish and meat at 6 weeks and then increased the density until now (5 months), when I can quite happily eat steak. However, I find that the denser the texture of the meat, the less of it I eat in one meal. If I eat steak, I just eat a small piece cut off the corner of my partner's steak, whereas I can polish off a fillet of salmon all to myself! 😊

    Puree diet

I ate small mouthfuls and left 30 seconds after swallowing before eating again. I was given a 30 second egg timer and I still use it. I've never been sick once, nor have I had the 'foamies' - I don't know whether this is through sticking to the 30 second rule or just luck!
  7. Yup, I've had exactly the same thing. I have to wear socks in bed all the time and I use an electric under-blanket. I wear fingerless gloves when I'm on the computer and my nose is often freezing!
  8. I only drink when I'm out and in company now - I used to drink wine every night at home. I'm amazed I don't really miss it, actually! I recently went on a girls' weekend and drank probably 5 glasses of Prosecco each night. I still managed to lose 2 lbs that week. The same is true of when I go on holiday. I don't break the food rules - I eat small plates of good food and drink alcohol at night - and I still lose weight. The most important difference for me is that I'm not hankering after alcohol any more. The surgery stopped the habitual behaviour.

    30 second elevator interview

I am a stunningly beautiful Brit with an IQ of 200, a mountain of gold doubloons and my own castle right next door to Buckingham Palace. The Queen is my BFF and she is always asking my advice about public speaking and borrowing my shoes. I also have no difficulties separating fantasy from reality and am proud to say that I have never told a lie. 😉

    Gas Gas Gas!!!

I drank warm mint cordial and walked a lot. I farted like a trooper - it worked a treat!

    Mental Starvation?

I didn't particularly enjoy two weeks of liquids only, followed by two weeks of sloppy solids...but I kept reminding myself that it was just a month out of the rest of my life. It would pass soon enough! I chose to "Keep Calm and Carry On" (how horribly British of me!).😉😊

    Munchies

Prunes, nuts, yoghurt - it gets thing moving (if you get my meaning😉).

    Relationship changes?

Yes, it can change your most significant relationship. My Other Half was a saucy scoundrel before - he's a complete sex pest now! 😲😉

    Poop

Prune juice every day for ever and ever and ever! 😉
  15. I had my surgery on 30th June and I've lost 73lbs altogether. I can eat pretty much anything now, although bread and pasta make me feel uncomfortably full. Constipation is still a problem occasionally and I'm developing some loose skin. However, I feel so much better over all, these two problems seem like a small price to pay.
  16. This is just what I do - as well as taking vitamin/mineral supplements and Biotin. I'm four months out and haven't lost any hair (yet!) It's pretty much what I was eating before surgery, but now I'm just eating side plates of food and no booze. Thanks for posting the keto pyramid, Jeaniered!

On the Subject of New Clothes....

I was teaching in a classroom today and my trousers started to slide down...time to make a purchase perhaps? 😉
  18. You are putting up with some very cr*ppy treatment - but take heart! You will find that as you lose weight, your self-belief will grow. Problems that seemed intractable before surgery, will appear to be within your capabilities to solve. Imagine yourself in a year, lighter - healthier - more confident. You won't want to put up with the same old cr*p as before because you won't be the same person. Exciting for you - scary for him - maybe that's why he's acting out.
  19. I'm 4 and a half months out and I'm feeling the lack of carbs...OMG - the piles!! 😲

    Fat Shaming

If I needed to be diplomatic with the fat shamers, I'd probably say, "I prefer not to judge someone by their appearance because I don't know what's happening in their life." If I didn't have to be diplomatic, I'd probably say, "I'd rather be obese than a b*tch."

    Being wasteful.......

Ah! We don't get it over our neck of the woods.

    Being wasteful.......

I'd certainly try that - if I knew what cool whip was! 😉

Please give me your meal plan

No - you've got to be 18 to buy booze. But children can go in a pub as long as they're with adults who order food. Then they can have a sneaky sip of dad's beer when he's not looking! 😉

Please give me your meal plan

My eating plan is: real food, not processed eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm not lay off the booze. I can only remember three rules at a time...seems to be working quite well! 😊

    Hair Loss

Oh well...let's hope my cheek bones reappear before it all drops out, so I can have a pixie cut! 😉
