    I really don't like stalls

I lost a pound this week....told you the stall wouldn't last! 😉 It won't last for you either, texasnewf!

    Dumping without diarrhea?

I've never had dumping with the trots either. I get cramping, sweating, weakness and vomiting. Just had it three times (and that was enough!).

    I really don't like stalls

I've been the same weight for three weeks now....not worried though. It won't last! 😉
  4. I think this post of FluffyChix's is the crux of the matter for me. It is all about knowing myself. Like her, I knew what sort of behaviour resulted in obesity, and like her, I need to be accountable for it. For me, my Achilles heel was alcohol (2-3 glasses of red wine a night) and portions of healthy food that were just too large. Now I've cut out the alcohol (apart from special occasions) and got the portion size right, I feel I'm in control. But I recognise that different people have to do different things to be in control.
  5. It's interesting that you should say that about carbs...I ate a lot of protein in comparison to everything else to begin with, and had pretty awful constipation. The nurse told me to increase the proportion of healthy carbs and the problem sorted itself out.
  6. I don't track calories or weigh food and was never told to by the surgeon or the bariatric nurse. I was just told to 'eat small, eat healthy'. I keep a food diary and record my weight weekly, but that's all. Food doesn't control me any more, so I don't want to spend more time thinking about it than I do currently. It's just there when I need it.
  7. There's nothing I can't eat. However, I have to be very careful about spacing out the meals and keeping the quantities small. I had a small roast chicken dinner at a friend's yesterday, then two hours later had a tiny smidgeon of apple pie and ice cream...cue the most horrendous dumping syndrome. It's only the third time its happened, but I should have known better. I didn't want to offend my friend, who'd cooked the pie specially, but I suppose vomiting violently down her toilet was more offensive! 😲
  8. I've been on this site for just over a year and I've never seen any threads of the 'Help-I've-lost-too-much-weight!' variety. I shouldn't worry about it if I were you. If you've done your research and are happy with the risks, then do it - the rewards are worth it. 🙂
  9. I don't weigh anything or count calories. My portion size is about the same as the palm of my hand (or less if I feel satisfied quickly). I do keep a food diary, to make sure that I'm eating healthily and I probably eat 5 or 6 times a day. Last week, I went on holiday and had alcohol and one or two desserts, and I still managed to lose a pound (although I did quite a lot of swimming and walking). Maybe I'm just lucky in finding a way of eating that works for me. If weighing and counting calories works for you, then it's super that you've found the strategy to suit you! 🙂

    Birth control

I could give you the advice an elderly relative gave me years ago... "Do you know what a penis is? For god's sake, stay away from it!" ...but that probably wouldn't be particularly helpful! 😲

    im not going POO!

    Prunes, nuts and water!
  12. Anxiety is awful (as is the ensuing depression). When its got a strong grip on you, only medication can take the edge off it. But if I could catch it early, I used to find that swimming myself (almost to exhaustion) used to relieve it. There was something about front crawl that was calming - holding my breath for 6 strokes, breathing out on the 7th, breathing in on the 8th. Mind you, you don't always have the option of jumping in a pool when you're feeling anxious!
  13. You both look fantastic - and - more importantly - happy! Well done! (Mind you, you looked happy in the 'before' picture as well!)

    Missing food today

This too shall pass! And d'you know what? - One day you'll eat steak and baked potato again (but just a little bit!).
  15. My surgeon reckoned that it wasn't possible to stretch your sleeve, because the stretchy part of the stomach had been removed. He said it was possible to 'eat around' your sleeve, by grazing regularly when you weren't hungry. I suppose it's a moot point, since the solution in each case is not to eat too much! 😀
  16. I was given no strict rules for the solid food stage, other than to avoid junk food and refined carbs. To date, I've lost 111 lbs, and I eat a healthy balanced diet in small portions. I have small treats, but they are things that I really enjoy - not cr*ppy food. I had some problems with constipation early on, but I think it was because I was eating more protein than anything else. Once I'd decided to eat more fibrous carbs and slightly less protein, that problem disappeared. When I go out to dinner, I order exactly what I want and ask to take the rest home. Consequently, I don't feel like my choices have been severely restricted - just the quantities. I still enjoy food immensely.
  17. I get these symptoms whenever I get out of bed or out of the bath and I'm 13 months out. The only satisfactory answer is to go back to bed(!)
  18. How kind! (The glow is probably down to the Prosecco!😉)
  19. I think that how your face ages is down to genetics. I don't think I look much younger or older now I've lost weight. If I'm relatively wrinkle-free, then I'll let my mother take the credit!

    OLDER peeps (50+) exercise

My baggy skin is my medal of honour! Every time I look at it, I'm so proud of how well I've done to shed the fat that used to live under it. And if there's anyone who thinks it looks gross, they can 'jog on' - as they say in my neck of the woods. 😉
  21. I was eating 'normal' balanced meals at 4 months - but just very small portions. If I felt like I needed a snack, I'd make sure that was protein - like nuts or Greek yoghurt. My six month blood tests showed that I had no deficiencies. I take a multivitamin, a calcium tablet, an iron drink and 4 sprays of B12 daily. (Mind you, your body might respond differently to mine!)
  22. I was 50 when I had my sleeve - its worked out just fine. I found that if I had much more protein than anything else, I was constipated, so I have a more balanced diet now. I have some protein in every meal, but it might just be nuts in my muesli.

Old relationship with cheese and red wine...? Probably 'Just Can't Get Enough' by Depeche Mode!
  24. This whole idea of cheats doesn't really sit well with me. I do eat 'unnecessary' foods, but just in very small amounts - small enough for me to still lose weight. I can eat 5 or 6 chocolate buttons without wanting to binge on them. For me, if there are forbidden foods, I feel like I'm 'on a diet' and that mindset has always failed for me in the past...I have a tendency to rebel! I know my Achilles heel is alcohol, so that is what I avoid, apart from special social occasions. It's a balance that seems to be working for me...if it doesn't in the future, then I'll change it! ps When I do drink alcohol on special occasions, I am extremely naughty and then I unexpectedly lose weight the next day - I bet it's dehydration! 😲😀

    NEW BMI

Well, I suppose it could be worse than having slightly wayward boobs...When I was really big, I used to accidentally press the space bar with my jallabers whilst typing on my desktop. 😲😀
