i also want to chime in here ....I am not banded but will be ..... The women that got me started on the whole band idea was a woman that was banded herself .....i enjoyed her friendship (she was my boss) we still talk occasionally to see where i am with my choice... But anyway ...She was 2 daughters ..both are on the heavy side ...her 1 daughter is young 6-7 years old ...young where being over weight is cute she is puggy or has chimpmunk checks (u get the idea) her other daughter is 12 teenage years ....little miss woman ....my friend is very different to that daughter buys her clothes and is mad on the size she has to buy her because it is big..... from the outside looking in i can see the difference on how she is being treated .....which from looking her i think we all need to realize that just because we choice to have any type of weight loss surgery doesnt mean it is the choice for the next guy or daughter ... my brothers wife is a BIG GIRL ..She will never say over weight or any refferences to that ...i asked her if she wanted to do this with me she said she did not qualify ...i said mmmhhh i am 4 11 and almost 200 lbs she is 5 4 and almost 300lbs .....ok i wont argue ... she is very happy and very active ...(more than me lol) she may never want wls ..... my point is 6 years old even if you told her she will forget ....in time the topic may resurface .. but now she wants that toy in the happy meal ...that cereal with the doll in it .... and that is ok as long as you moderate it .....i have heard of parents that had there teens done ........... more power to them....i applaud that choice but i also and equally applaud the parents/child that did not get wls ...for there kids . yes the world is cruel ....kids are cruel.....we read about it everyday.....dont rush what she will be......enjoy her for what she is alittle girl..... just some food for thought without the calories ............

mary it sounds like you went into a hypo glycemic shock ....were you a diabetic before this ?you should start carrying some hard candies to suck on but becareful if you feel faint dont suck on it there is stuff called glucose that is a thick liquid you can but under your tounge and it will disolve you wont chock on it .... dr the dr check your sugar ..

julie what does a thigh lift intail..i have heard some drs go down to the knee? if you dont mind could you explain it ..

Plastic Surgery Tijuana Mexico Baja California San Diego Plastic Surgery Pricing I am going to Dr Kuri in Aug for a lap band ...I am going to meet with Dr. Gutierrez Romero a plastic surgeon in TJ Mexico while I am there ....The reason I chose him to meet is because he is a Dr that also works with operation smile ..I know being a nurse that org. dosent just let any doctor do plastic surgery on childrens faces ....The web site i gave you gives you an idea of his prices ..I have never talked with anyone you had plastic surgery from mexico (mybe 1 lady but did not hear back from her I wanted a web site) so i figured while my husband is with me we can visit the ps to see all about it hopes this helps...most plastic surgeons wont do arms breast and tummy tuck together too much blood loss and under ansth.too long ....so becareful ...hope this helps if you get any info send it my way as i will you ...i need plastic surgery before the lap band (lol) so i am preparing for it after lap banding ......

is the reason you do the pre op diet to loss fat off your liver ? And do the drs in mexico requie 2week preps?

esmerela that dr is now in troulbe for seeing pt in california for pre opt screenings and follow up care althought he is lic in mexico ...he saw pt in californis he has no lic in californis ..i was looking into him.....

Margi, When I first went to my pcp and told him i want wls he looked at me and said yeah I will approve you for gastric bypass I said no I want ..lap band he said why gastric you drop the weight fast lap band takes longer and i know that and agree with that he then said first most people get gastric and after they strech there stomacks go in for a lap band .........to mantain there weight loss ... its a double process by the time the doctors stops seeing you for the post gastric bypasss your next money maker will be lap band ....to tweeq the gastric and most ins dont cover lap band but will cover gastric ....and once that ins has covered gastric later down the road they will cover the band to tweeq your maintance...... I hope I make since ...I understood what he was telling me ....basicly its all about the money ........... My boss had lap banding done 2 years ago ..... we spent many a days today and nights we would eat the same things ...i did notice she ate different ( not drinking with meals) as time went on she told me she had lap band and i should look into it ........she ate sweets ...coffee ...wine ..... the only thing was at night she didnt feel the need to snack ......if she was watching tv she didnt need chips to see it (lol) ...it curbed he appetite ....she always drinks diet soda with lemon ..she always said after i get banded lemon will be my best friend.... i hope this encourages you to look on for a doctor that will but your mind at ease but to be honest some of the most sane advice or info is on this board from men and women who are living proof life starts again with banding ........

My husband knows I am going to do this and thinks I am crazy but supports my choice " as log as i am happy " My friends that I have told ( all size 0 to 4 ) think I dont need it (by the way I am in a 18 working on a 20 ) ..So I give up on talking to people about it ...Thats why I am trilled I found this site !!!!! I have gained something other than weight from this site (lol)...I finally feel someone understands! I have been talking about this for sometime and I think everyone thinks this a process taken littly and its not there are many choices and options to way out and this site helps give light to my questions and fears ! BUT with that being said once I am banded I wont answer any of my family and friends questions.... maybe I am being childish but support starts from the begining not the middle.....

Danciglamb, You are right ...WITH YOUR TX ....It is a fungal rash... Your isurance will definatly cover a tummy tuck...with those issuesMy ried had MGB and 1 year later needed a tummy tuck d/t extra ski ad the fungal rashes... Good luck ....

Hello I am also in Pa .I am hoping my insurance covers this if not I will be going to Mexico but anyway ...Tristate bariatrics in New york did my girls friends and she looks great that is where i will be going if insurance covers it ...There is also Leigh High Valley hospital in pa and milton hershy hospital.
