Mine 2 years ago was at a 9. It took 1 year of 4000iu a day to get it to 22 then 12 weeks of 50000iu a week to get it to a 30. I just had my pre-op visit with the hospital and she said that even if mine was a little low that was okay since I’ve had problems with it for years. Just to make sure I keep taking my Vit D and that I may need extra post op

I’m on day 1 if my pre-op diet. It’s 10 days and I can have a Protein Shake and piece of fruit for Breakfast, 3oz lean meat with veggies for supper and I can choose either of those options for lunch. I can also have unlimited pickles, sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles and broth.

My surgery is scheduled for July 2 so I’m 10 days out! Everyone keeps asking how I’m feeling about it and if I’m nervous but honestly the only thing I’m thinking is FINALLY! I’ve been preparing for this since November and I’m so ready! I’m on the pre-op diet but it’s not much different than my diet has been the last few months.

Is it common for most doctors to put you in a preop liquid diet? I’m currently on my preop and I can have food. Granted it’s not much but it’s still real food.
