  1. Hey! Thanks for keeping me posted. I bet you are excited about your pre op appointment. I am located in Columbus.. that is 100 miles south of Atlanta. Everything is going pretty well so far. I went to my PCP to get him to write a letter of medical nessecity and for blood work and cardiac clearance. So i will pick that up from him tomorrow. I had a hard time finding a psychologist that would accept my peachstate, so i am going to go with on in atlanta.. DR Houser. Mrs. Pompey from peachtree bariactrics refered me to them. The only other thing that i need to do and i havent quite figured out yet is the nutritional evaluation. What did you do with this? Where did you go to get it done? Is there any other test beside psy eval and nutrition eval that peachstate makes you do? I am hopeing to have my packet in, in a few weeks from now. Then im not sure how long the wait will be from there. You will have to let me know when your surgery date is... i wonder how long you will have to wait between pre op and surgery and i wonder if they will require a liquid diet :/ lol! I would love to do lunch sometimes. I will have to see where your town is.

  2. OMG! OMG! I am sooo Happy for you!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! So now you go for your pre op appointment right?? Then they will give you a date for your actualy surgery?? Im so excited for you.... i hope that mine goes as smoothly as yours. I did call peachstate this morning and they did give me word that they did cover the surgery if medically nessesary of cource. So know i am just waiting on the email from peachtree bariatrics!!! Im am glad that you got approved because that means that i probably will be most likely approved. If you dont mind me asking... what is your BMI? Mine is 41 and i really dont have anything like high BP or diabetes... dont know about sleep apnea, I doubt it though. So did you have any of those to help you get approved? Congrats again, and keep me updated.. Im so glad that i found you on here... because you have really helped me get the ball rolling!

  3. Hey!! Thank you so much for referring me to them! I would not have known where to begin if you had not given me their website. Well i went up to ATLMedical center with my friend and got their about 12:30. It was surprisingly easy to find. So Dr Duncun gave his seminar speech and i got my package. I actually got up and asked him a question because i have a hiatel hernia, which is a hernia in the esophagus. So i was wondering if you always have to do a hernia repair at the same time and he said "yes". Thats good though because i need that surgery anyway. I just hope that Peachstate is willing to pay for both. So what they told me to do is is call my insurance company to make sure they cover bariactrics surgery and then wait for them to send me and email.....then from what i remember im guessing that i fill out the worksheet they send me through email and send it back to them through email??? Then they said that they would then send me something telling me what clearances i would need to get. Does all of this sound familar? lol.... I really hope that this all gets going quickly. When it asks from blood work what all does that test for....because i just got tested for all the blood surgar and cholesterol and all of that when my pcp tested me for metobolic syndrom. How long did it take you to get all of your test completed and did you have to do all of the testing in ATL?

  4. I was wondering how your process was going. Have you got your letter of approval from peachstate yet? I went to my doc today and he told me that i did not have metabolic syndrome. Thats a plus i guess. I told him that i would go to the seminar on the 17th and he told me to just let him know if i needed anything from him like a referral or something just to let him know. I still hope that i am going about this the right way! Good luck if you havent heard anything yet!
