Congrats! Gas-Ex strips. The only thing I had post was gas. I love Gas-Ex. The strips work great. The pills I am not fond of. Good luck on your journey.:thumbdown:

Good morning everyone. I have finally lost 50 lbs! I am so excited. This was 1 of my mini goals. Now for my next goal.

I have finally reached the 50 lb. lost mark! I am so happy!

Tina, you are doing so great with all that you have been through. I am so happy that you have found that inner peace. It helps a lot. I am going to open up a little about what I went through with my ex. He was an abusive alcoholic. Had my scared to leave him cause he would kill me. Not only was he cheating (women would call and argue he wasn't married) he finally pulled a Hell No ..I came home from work early 1 night and found him on the couch with a man! He left for 2 weeks after that. I packed all that I could fit in my car and sold everything else. I was moving down here. (My parents had been living here for about 4 yrs.) I could stay with them 3 weeks. 15 min. before I left Oh. he walked in and said he was coming with me. He did and left within 3 weeks. I was scared but getting stronger. It took awhile for me to get to the inner peace. But it is such a beautiful place. :tt2: I can hardly wait to get to 147. I have such a long way to go. You are an inspiration for me.:crying:

Afraid to do Ambien.. Might drive over to middle DDs home and go off on SIL and her. Kidnap grandbabies. Then go to jail...Wouldn't do anyone any good.

LJM...well 1 nieghbor down (so to speak) I am glad you were able to hold out until today. With my 1st 2 DDs My pains were so irregular. The Dr finally gave me something to make them even out. I can't remember the name of the stuff cause it has been 31 yrs ago. My pains would go from 10 min. apart to 1 min. apart then up to 5 min apart. Awful cycle until he gave me the meds. Then after 1 hr my pains were regular and I delivered soon after. My last DD I had toximia and didn't know about it until a week before I had her. I kept telling the Dr.s something was wrong (I used UAB training). It was a week before I delivered her and the Dr. I had Told me I had it. Quote "if you don't do exactly as I tell you, you and the baby will die". I cried and was such a wreck. Then when I went into labor I ended up having a c-sec. because her foot was stuck under my cervix. They didn't tell me that one at all. Then after the c-sec. they never went out and told my family. I had her at 8:32 pm. They didn't find out until a freind of mine who works in the nursury came in for her shift at 11:00pm. She told them and woke me up to give me my DD. Sorry for the horror story.:tt2: Good luck and you are in my prayers.

I have always liked my veggies, but loved my meat! Now I have to remind myself to eat the protein first. If I don't I eat my veggies and don't get enough protein in. Some times I will just put the protein on my plate and eat it then get my veggies. Isn't a great feeling?

I just wish that they had this when I was 20. I would so do this over again. Not everybody will love their band or have success. Some will have complications and have to have it taken out. But the bad vs good, good far outweighs anything bad IMHO. That is just me. Poll or no poll you need to research all options before you make your decision. Choose what is right for you. LB, Gastric by pass ect... Make sure it is right for you. You have to work the band it is a awesome tool. But you have to work to maintain with the other surgeries also. With any WLS there are dangers. There are chances of gaining the weight back. You have to be mentally ready to a life style change, not a life long diet. If you look at any WLS as a diet, there is a better chance of failure because you don't want to change. That happens to many. They aren't willing to use it as a tool and change their lifestyle. They go on a life long diet and start sabbotaging themself almost immediatly. Sorry so long. I hope this helps you and doesn't scare you away from LB. Good luck and keep us posted.:thumbup:

It was quiet last night. I'm not used to not having at least 1-2 pages to read from overnight. Must have been the sandman visited most everyone last night. With the exception of Tap. I slept good when I finally went to sleep. pjtp....I am so happy with my band with the exception of with me losing weight I freeze! I used to stay hot. I would freeze everyone out with the air conditioner and freeze them during the winter with the heat being set on 65 degrees plus fans going! Now I am cold almost all the time. I could use my hands as the ice cubes for my water! lol. Oh well have a blessed day.

Welcome Melissa. 1st...congrats on the 38 lbs lost! Look at it like this...it is 38 LOST, not gained! Awesome. 2nd...I haven't done the Weight Watchers thing but I have read on some older threads that others are doing the Weight Watchers. Some are doing Adkins.... I am trying to eat healthier. I would lose more if I would excersize on a regular basis. It just depends on the person and their preferences. I knew I would have to work the band, just not this hard. :thumbup: Good luck Melissa and keep us posted.

Sorry Christie, I can't answer that one. I was self pay. I didn't trust insurance. If I am correct insurance pays for so many fills the first yr. Just check with your insurance and which ever Dr.s you choose. Good luck.

Hello Christy, I am from Huntsville. I had mine done by Dr. Groves in Albertville. He also has offices in Guntersville. Dr. Groves has the band also. His partner Dr. Britt did his. I love them to death. They have a great staff. There are threads on here for Alabama. Just go and read them. Research and choose the Dr. that you are comfotable with. I personally do not do good with ultimatums. It will backfire on the person giving them. My ex hubby tried giving me an ultimatum 1 time. I can't remember what it was about but the consequences was he would supposedly commit suicide. I handed him a knife and said go for it and walked away.:scared2: My parents used to give me ultimatums. I usually done what they said just to keep from getting my tail beaten. Or I would stub up and do the opposite. After I got out of the house I wouldn't put up with them. Give me a choice and I am fine.
