Do you need all 5-6 meals to hit your Protein goal? If not, my dietitian was OK with me swapping out a couple of my meals for fruit/veggies.

Yes I usually hit anywhere from 60-70 but she would like me to be at 80 at this point.

  2. I’m 5 months out and still consuming 2oz of food at a time so basically I never have enough room for veggies ☹️. I do eat 5-6 times a day instead of the normal 3 times. Just curious what others are consuming at this point. Dietician would like my calories to be higher but said it wouldn’t effect my weight loss if I couldn’t.

  3. I don’t do thrift shops bc I’m afraid of bedbugs so everything I purchased was new. I buy one pair of jeans for each size down and I wear workout leggings a lot bc I’m at the gym everyday. The leggings last a lot longer than the jeans. My gym tops can last several sizes and don’t look too bad oversized. I have 4 dressy tops and I just rotate them out. That’s it! I also bought them all on sale none of them cost more than $15. I’m a stay at home mom though so I don’t have the challenge of buying work clothes.

  4. Took me 2 weeks to take OFF the 10lbs I gained coming home from the hospital. After that I lost only 1-2lbs a week until I got my Protein up and then was averaging 3-5lbs per week until recently bc weight loss has slowed down a little. I’m close to 5 months post op. Ive learned that even if you aren’t cheating and hitting the gym religiously there will always be stalls and slow losses. It will come off eventually though!

  5. 3000 is too many calories if you want to lose in my opinion. I am not as far out as you though. At close to 5months out my surgeon says 800-1000 but I never consume that much bc I’m just not that hungry. I usually get 550-700 and that’s with a very strict 6 days a week gym routine with cardio and strength training. Hope this helps!

I second this. It totally cuts the sweetness and works for hot coffee, cold/iced coffee, and frappacinos!

Oh and I like the Peaches and Cream mixed into hot or iced matcha, green tea, or peach tea. Also Breakfast tea is great with it or with vanilla and chai seasonings.

Ohhh never thought to mix tea with it! I’m going to have to pick up some vanilla PP now to mix with chai tea 😋

  7. I had trouble in the beginning with pretty much EVERYTHING. Completely stressed out about it and it consumed me. Everything felt like lava going down the first few weeks but it does get better. I am a little over 3months post op and have no problems meeting Protein goals although I still you a supplement everyday, either bars or shakes. I will say my weight loss didn’t pick up till I was meeting my protein goals and it bummed me out I wasn’t losing mine I should have in the beginning. I was losing 1-2lbs a week on those first few weeks, but now average 5lbs.

  8. I had these same fears with 11,9 and 3 year old at home but everything worked out. I’d say the first 2 weeks it’s going to be all about you and trying to stay hydrated but after that it just goes back to normal! I’m three months out now and one of the best decisions of my life! My boys notice my weight loss and are excited for me. Good luck, you won’t regret it!

  9. I’d definately ask your dr and bring in a few days of meals written out to see what you could tweak. It looks pretty good to me but maybe no mashed potatoes and just eat more Protein to fill your stomach. I am 8 weeks out and have trouble meeting protein goals so I never get to the veggies or carbs. I’ll be the odd one and say that does seem like a long stall to me so close to your surgery and I totally get why you are frustrated. Are you exercising yet? I’m a slow loser so I added in a 1hr workout and weight loss increased to 3lb.

  10. I’m about 7 weeks out and for the last several weeks I’ve lost about 2lbs a week on average. I understand this isn’t a miracle surgery and I’m happy for the weight loss regardless but I can’t help but think that’s about how much weight I would lose when I was dieting on and off for years before surgery. I’m getting all my Protein, drinking Water constantly and hitting the gym 5-6 days a week for an hr mixing strength training and cardio. Anyone else experiencing this or has in the past? When did the “rapid weight loss” pick back up?

I think most of us have been there.

And, when WE were, we were like, “Moan...groan...three week stall...why so slow....blah...blah...blah.” And, no kidding, many of us felt this way whether we were losing a little bit of weight or a metric butt ton. You folks seem to be doing so well!

There should be a drop down for all of us about these commonly aired first few week’s issues and feelings. Because the feelings and concerns are valid. You’re going through it and it matters as much as any other issue.

Here are a few things i’ve learned along the way:

First, If you follow your plan, things work out for almost everyone on their own timeline.

Second, The scale will stand still at times even when you are following your plan. That doesn’t mean your body isn’t changing in a positive manner. A scale doesn’t measure inches, only pounds.

Third, Nothing...NOTHING good comes from comparing your progress to another’s. Even if you are the exact height and weight. Each body has a different set of variables and the comparison thing is maddening. You’ll go bonkers trying to set your progress using someone else’s gauges. Just go with your rhythm, don’t sweat the pace, and live each day fully. Don’t miss the experience because you’re worrying about whether you’re on track. If you are following your plan, you’re on YOUR track just as you should be...going your speed.

(Here’s something else I think we forget sometimes...You are the only person to whom you are accountable, the only person you can let down, the only person who can be “cheated on” in this venture. Make your choices accordingly. Respect yourself, give yourself the best possible chance and you’ll get the best possible results nearly every time.)

    Peace

I loved this. So much truth... thanks for your response i needed to read that.
