Hysterectomy and Bypass Surgery
Hi Not together at the same time, but I did have a hysterectomy March 2014 and RNY 07/30/18. Both are the best things I had done for my health in my life. Not having to deal with a period for all these years have been a blessing and I have had not problems.

It's been a long road!!!!
Wow, I'm so sorry to see you are having such a difficult time. My RNY was 07/30/18 and I am now 64 lbs down. It truly is a had process and one we deal with of our health's sake. The first 2 months were the worst for me. I feel like I am now dealing better with all the adjustments we have to make in our lives and eating habits. I do trow up about once or twice a week still, but it depends on different things. Am I listening to my body's hints that I am full, like hiccups and sneeze... Yes, for me, those are my key hints that I am full. Am I eating something new today? I try to focus on eating small meals 5-6 times a day. That way I now I have eaten all of the protein I need. On bad days I do not go to sleep until I have downed a bottle of isopure water which has 40 gram of protein! Stay firm. Stay active. Stay focused. It does get better. Congrats of the 70 lbs!

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Hello I'm ok, I was hospitalized for 4 days. The surgery was good and without complication. I really feel no pain, however, the first night I developed a hiccup for about 6-7 hours. It was terrible. My throat was very sore from the intubation. I am home today, but feel so very tired. Very tired. All in all I feel ok. I'm trying to drink my water and shakes, but I feel full very fast. I ate some sugar free jello, but could only eat 1/4 of it.

Thank you! No not scared of pain. I’ve had a hysterectomy and know pain. It’s part of the road we chose to walk, so if its bad I will deal with it knowing that its just my body healing. If its not bad, well great. Again, thanks.

Once I finished all the appointments and test, they submitted paperwork in late May and 12 days later it was approved. I saw Doctor Pohl mid June and a week later surgical coordinator called me with the date. July 30th. I have Neighborhood plus.

Did any of you experience loss of appetite during 2 wk liquid diet pre-op?
Today it’s my 11th day on liquid diet. 3 more to go and the. Monday at 6:am its my RNY. At first I had hunger pains. About 2 days ago I was light headed and had a brief headache. Today it’s so different. No hunger pains, I feel great and focussed. Like really focussed on everything that needs to be done so I have a relaxed environment once I’m back home on recovery. I’m quite OCD about cleanliness and organization so making sure everything is on point its important to me, since I will not be able to do it myself for a while. I do have a big support system and will not be alone, but if you know anyone who’s a bit OCD you know its not done properly unless we do it ourselves and we will be annoyed until we do it how we believe its the proper way. Any way, no hunger. No hunger pains. If it were not for the alarms I have set up for my shakes, I’d miss them all together. I had to force myself to get them down. Any one felt or feel the same?

I bought all the same things! How weird is that? IDK about you, but I am ready! Just want Monday to get here already! How are you feeling in general? Yesterday was a bad day for me. I was a bit dizzy and had a bit of a headache. Must be the humidity. I was out running some errands and by the time I was back home, my head wanted to explode. Not today, I;m staying in relaxing in the AC and grooming. With everything done on my pre and post list, it's time for me. After my morning workout, I let my notifications remind me to drink H2O and my shakes, to walk, and am going to relax and do me. Today is manicure and pedicure. Tomorrow I plan to do facial and eyebrows and Friday my hair. What are you doing to make the days easier and faster for you?

July surgery
Well its day 9 on this 2wk liquid diet and today it’s kicking my booty! I feel dizzy and light headed. I know I’m hydrated because I’ve been drinking 80oz of water a day, plus my 3 shakes and small frozen meal (<200 cals) in the evenings . 6 more days to go for my RNY. I’ve been staying busy, cleaning and shopping, getting ready for my post op. Today is so muggy and hot, I’m all ready home and after a great cold shower, I am here venting a bit and debating if I should take a little nap until my dinner. I have one shake to go today and then dinner. Honestly, the shakes are harder to want to drink them. I guess I’m just tired of them. Now I’m also getting a light headache. Ok, nap time. I HATE headaches. July 30th please get here already!

I'm still 9 days pre-op, but I've read that it is very difficult the first few days. Good luck and don't stop trying to get your liquids in. Even if its just an ounce every thirty minutes. Try protein water to get some protein in. Keep us posted. I believe in you. You got this girl.

July surgery
I was doing the same thing all day. I am on my 6th day of my 2 wk liquid diet. I kind of feel as if I'm nesting. Cleaned out my closet and got rid of a lot of clothes I will soon not fit. I just left enough to use the first 2 months, and after that (hoping before that) they will begin to fall off of me. I even bought a gorgeous jewelry chest. Its close to 3.5' and I put some jewelry in it, but plan to fill it up when I start buying clothes. God knows I can't wait to go shopping. Anyway, it's been hard, but I've been drinking about 80 oz of water a day and in between my shakes, I've had an occasional cup of hot broth. I helps with the hunger pains. Time seems to be passing faster than what I expected. I try to wake up late and go to bed early. I sleep 8-9 hrs at night and keep busy all day. I know that before we know it our special date will be upon us. Come on July 30th.
