KimTriesRNY seemed to think I was confused and unhelpful. I just needed to rant. And sort of hoped for some understanding.

I am sorry that you misunderstood my post. I was only trying to keep the post on topic for the original poster. Your post had nothing to do with the topic posted. Nowhere did I imply you were confused. I do feel your post would be better served in the rants and raves heading, but I’m not sure why you took this so personally as it certainly wasn’t meant as such.

One of my brothers was on morphine for (I think) 7 years. He had chronic pain from gout, back spasms and hip issues. When it got really bad, he would stand in the doorway with his head against the door jamb and try to sleep standing there.

Over the past year, he finally got his hemochromatosis under control, which contributed to getting diabetes under control. This enabled him to get work done on his hip and changed his diet to improve the gout. His pain was reduced so much that he has been able to get off morphine. I hope they find a solution that will help you with your pain sometime soon.
