  1. I just had the bypass on 9/18 and I’m glad I did. The weight loss is steady but still takes effort. I don’t think the sleeve would have been enough for me.
  2. I looked at your history. You have an EGD scheduled? That’s good.
  3. I never threw up pre surgery except when my lap band was filled. This recent episode started with the foamies and then a little nausea and the food just came up.
  4. Hi Frustr8, I’m doing much better. Got through that rough patch. Just a little pain still from my incisions and threw up once from eating too fast. In the puréed stage. Thanks for checking on me!
  5. Hi I’m 8 days post op gastric bypass and I still feel miserable. The pain is a lot better but I feel nauseous and don’t want to eat. I hope this nausea doesn’t last forever. When does it go away?
  6. Best wished to everyone. Surgery went fine., a little longer than expected due to scar tissue. Going home tomorrow!
  7. Hi my surgery is tomorrow (band to bypass) and I’m scared! Could benefit from some encouragement and prayer!
  8. I’m not having the sleeve but I know someone who did. They lost ALL their weight but it was slow. Took a couple of years I think.
  9. Hi I’m having a revision from the lapband to RNY on September 18. Started preop Diet September 3. I’m really nervous!
  10. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me in this site. God answers prayer and you are doing the Lords work by praying for others and encouraging them.
  11. Hi the preacher, please put me on your prayer list for my band to bypass revision on September 18. I’m embarrassed to say that I’m really scared. People ask me why I’m afraid if I believe God is with me and I can’t answer that. I know God loves me and has a plan for my life but does that mean nothing can go wrong? What am I missing?
  12. Hi The Preacher, I am a woman of faith and I would love it if you prayed for me. I’m having a revision from the lap band to the gastric bypass on September 18. Please pray that it all goes well!!! Thank you!!
  13. I’m having a band to bypass revision on September 18. Had this awful band for 10 years.
  14. Thank you Sosewsue61! I appreciate your support!
  15. Hi I got my revision surgery from a band to bypass scheduled for Tuesday September 18. I started to sweat while on the phone!! If any of you are people of faith please say a quick prayer for me!
  16. I took phentermine and it was horrible. Couldn’t sleep at all. Had to get off.
  17. May I ask why you have to be revised from sleeve to RNY. I have the lapband and am getting bypass in September. Never lost significant weight with band.
  18. I’ve had the band for 10 years and I would not recommend it. From the beginning I had problems. Couldn’t eat chicken but slider foods like cereal were unrestricted. This led to a very unhealthy diet. The restriction was variable throughout the day and day by day. One day couldn’t drink water and had it unfilled., gained all the weight back. Also had acid reflux which my dr says was caused by the band. Now getting a gastric bypass., if you look at the studies the band has a higher complication than the sleeve or bypass. And I never had a slip or erosion like some have had.
  19. Hi, I’m having a revision from the band to bypass. Right now my band is unfilled but there’s still some restriction. When I eat with the band the small pouch causes me to stop eating after a few bites but then I’m able to start up again after 15 minutes. I’m concerned that this will happen with the RNY and then I’ll be grazing all day. Is the gastric bypass more effective than the band on terms of how fullness feels?
  20. One thing to consider is your age. It gets harder and harder to lose weight and keep it off as you get older. When I was 27 my weight wasn’t that bad but it’s ceeeped up over the years. Now I’m 55 facing a gastric bypass that I could have qualified for earlier.
  21. Culver’s. Hamburger with bacon, fries and a chocolate malt.
  22. I’m 55 and am looking to do a revision from lap band to bypass in September. I currently weigh 240 the highest I’ve ever been at 5 ‘2” and am hoping to get down to 150.
  23. I have the lap band and I would not recommend it. Go to the lap band forums and you will see all types of complications. You might consider the sleeve.
  24. Thank you. I’m having surgery in the fall and this is very helpful. So are you able to follow this comfortably without feeling like you’re starving?
  25. Yeah I’ve had NALD for 15 years. Doc said the only way to improve is to lose weight. One of the reasons going for RNY.
