Had the surgery on 6/5 and I feel great!

Yeah I’ve had NALD for 15 years. Doc said the only way to improve is to lose weight. One of the reasons going for RNY.
  2. Hi the more I read on this site the more excited I get about getting a revision from band to RNY and finally getting this weight off for the first time in my life. I’m 55 years old though. 5 foot 2 in and 240. If I lose 80 pounds or more at this age will I still look fat with all this hanging skin? Maybe I shouldn’t be worried about something so trivial?

Older Patient: will my skin sag?

Coincidentally I met a 62 year old who had bypass a year ago. 128 pounds down and looked good!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. And got the pics. You all look so good and healthy!! I’ve decided I’m not going to worry about this and enjoy getting healthy!

    Gallstones....

Hi Biddy zz, i had my gallbladder out 25 years ago before any wls. The gallbladder gets messed up from fast weight loss, not specifically RNY. I doubt that you have any permanent damage to your liver. My liver enzymes have been all over the place. The liver can heal itself. Of course I’m not a dr so you have to listen to your physicians findings and advice. That said I sympathize with you over the pain. I thought I was dying when I had my attacks.
  6. Hi Missouri-Lee, did you have a bad experience with your bariatric doc?
  7. Fantastic Biddy zz! This is very encouraging to me. So happy for your success!
  8. Thanks Matt Z. I'm glad everything is going well for you! And yes, I wish I did the bypass in 2008.
  9. Hi Mylighthouse, I’m sorry you had to go through all that with the sleeve. Thats exactly the reason i don’t want it. So so glad everything worked out for you. This is very encouraging to me! I have a feeling it will work out for me too. Can you tell me where your previous hernia was with the mesh? Mine was at the incision site of my C section. So its low. Thats why i’m hoping it won’t be an issue. Good luck with your bypass. Keep us posted on your progress!
