@Freiabr. No not yet. I’ve been cleared to. My doc has asked for 1 hour 5 times a week. I haven’t taken action with my eating or exercising yet. My plan for today is to read and get some motivation. I’ve lost 14 pounds so far. I will update measurements on Tuesday at our 4 week mark. How are you doing with your Protein and Water intake? Any tips to your success?

@Freiabr. You are my surgery twin. Sounds like we are pretty much at the same point. Have you started exercising?

@notmyname. I feel your pain. Last night was of the devil. Pain everywhere. I’m wondering if it’s like the body detoxifying or what? The first few days i felt amazing for just having had surgery.

@amiekinsRN. You and i are surgery twins. I think the pain is pretty manageable as well. This experience was much better than i anticipated. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Fluids and Proteins are going to be interesting for me as well. I feel full after Water.

@yvonne47 @katterbees. I’ve been drinking today. Drinking Water and Soup broth. Not much Protein yet. Im not hungry at all either but i have to feed the belly. She seems to get a little angry after a while. I’ll remember to be careful with dehydration.

@byefat. Thank you. This is my first day home. Surgery was yesterday afternoon. I’ll go find that pillow. I have one somewhere.

@Yvonne47. How far are you out?

@Yvonne47. I just experienced that. I tried to partially lay on my side and it felt like my insides were dropping. I guess i will attempt to sleep on my back.

@katterbees what did they give you for pain? You’re a rockstar. You’ve already walked the block!!!!! I thought i was a badass by going to the bathroom and walking the halls. Lol. Is this your first surgery? I’m a revision from lapband to sleeve

Hi. In October 30. I got moved from November 6.

Wow. I never thought about using the Protein Shakes as Creamer. That is genius. I haven't started the pre-op diet yet. My whole mind was into starting today but then I had parent's lunch at school with the girls and I had not prepared. I will need to get myself ready because there will always be something that will get in my way. I am thankful you all are here and I have someone to bounce ideas and thoughts off of.

What are you all taking to the hospital? Is anyone trying the vitamin patches?

Wow!!!! I am having surgery on November 6 as well. I guess we will all have turkey broth for Thanksgiving. I am excited even though I won't be eating my way through the holidays. I am excited about a new year and a new outlook. Hope we can all stay in touch along this journey.

By the way, I am getting a revision from Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve.

you are so right. i went to my first support group tuesday of both bandsters and bypass patients and this lady was like i only lost 77 pounds, i should have lost so much more. I was thinking, what the hell? 77 pounds lost is great no matter what. some people are just gonna be like that no matter what is going on. thank you for posting, those are my sentiments exactly. any weight loss is great after gaining for so long with no hope in sight.

I am having surgry The 29th of april. I had decided a long time ago not to tell anyone except husband and kids. However that changed sun. Had a family/friend reunion. I told everyone. Part because I am excited, but mostly because I was embarresed of my weight gain so I just wanted them to know I knew what they were thinking and I was doing something about it. Now I regret it.

why do you regret your announcement?

Has anyone gone into this just not caring who knows and who they tell?

The only people that knew I was thinking about it was my close family and now my mom is the only one that knows Im going to have it done and that the date is set (may 17th!!!).

Its sad because she doesn't seem excited for me anymore, like its now real to her and she never wants to talk about it or get excited.

I haven't told any of my friends that I am having it done, nor did I tell anyone at work why I need a week off, they just think Im going on vacation.

I am feeling more alone then ever at this point and its not a good feeling at all :-(

Hey i had my surgery on the 6th and I told a couple of people at work, my husband, my best friend and my dad..my boss was really hurt that i didnt tell her but my point of view was.... Once my mind was made up, I didnt need any negative points of view. I needed those around me who supported me, not questioned me. I really don't care who knows now that it is over. If your mother isnt excited for you, include someone else who you think might be. You will need the help and the support and the encouragement once its over, just something as simple as not eating real food in front of you. Its not that difficult but you will need your own little cheering squad to let you know it was worth the effort.

Question: If your surgeon sets a goal for you does that mean you can't get fills anymore after you reach that goal even if its not your personal goal?

Hello to my april bandster bunnies. I am scheduled for april 6th. I can't hardly wait. My process had gone really quickly. I was extremely motivated and my dr's office really worked to make it quick. From beginning to end in a month. I look forward to spending time with you all. Congratulations to those already banded and good luck to those who are waiting for their date. Happy easter to all!

I AM TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM STARTING MY NEW LIFE. I HAVE SUCH HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SURGERY. I AM PRAYING TO GET MY LIFE BACK. I WAS OUT WITH THE KIDS TODAY THINKING THIS IS THE LAST TIME MOMMY WILL HAVE TO STOP PLAYING BECAUSE SHE HURTS OR SHE IS TIRED. NEXT YEAR THIS TIME, I WILL BE ABLE TO "HANG" WITH MY GIRLS. I GOT ON THIS SITE TWO YEARS AGO LOOKING FOR INFORMATION FOR MY MOTHER, WHO KNEW TWO YEARS LATER, I WOULD BE ON HERE FOR MY OWN SURGERY. MY TENTATIVE BANDING DATE IS APRIL 6, BUT I WILL KNOW DEFINITELY ON TUESDAY. I WILL NEED ALL OF YOU ALLS HELP THROUGH THIS PROCESS. I AM NERVOUS ABOUT THE CHANGES BUT EXCITED AT THE SAME TIME.
