    TMI - Pooping at work

I am now just a month post-op sleeve and finally had my first big girl, solid pooh! Just like old times. Hoping I’ve turned the corner into new/old territory. For good.

    This didn't work for me

I am a bit on the smaller side too so what sounds like slower progress is actually right on track. At just over a month out I’ve almost reached the weight I really thought I wanted to be (100 lbs down from lifetime high). Now I realize I probably want to set my goal at 20-30 pounds lighter. HW: 260 SW:180 CW: 163 New GW: 130-140?
  3. Nope. You didn’t ruin a thing. I have a super conservative Doctor. I wasn’t supposed to begin chewing food until June 20th (sleeved 5/17) but had to go out of town June 14. I packed shakes to meet all protein goals but it has been so hectic, I’ve had to use food after the 40g protein morning shake. I’m chewing to purée. Eating 1-2 oz (cannot get more than that in at one time) of only highest/best protein option and getting my supplements in. My Doctors says if my stomach is happy then everything is fabulous!!!! I feel awesome. Still never hungry. But the body needs great nutrition to look and feel great!

    PAIN MANAGEMENT

I had liquid Tylenol with codeine. I also received one shot of Demerol in my IV. I had very little surgical pain. I did however have severe back pain due to surgical positioning (and an old injury I never thought to mention)! I’m allergic to morphine. It was never an option. I got a script for one bottle of the Tylenol with codeine upon release the next day. (I used half the bottle to manage back pain the first few days I was home.). Revision from Band to sleeve.
  5. Is there anyone out there that got sleeved with a relatively low BMI? I’d dropped to exactly 30 the morning of surgery. Had it been lower it would have been called off. Can I expect to loose my weight as quickly as others, given complete compliance (which I have maintained to the letter), or will it take me longer because I have less to lose. Has anyone else been through this? SW 180 CW 171 (14 days post op) GW 140
  6. That 3 week stall is real! I just started losing again yesterday and not a darn thing has changed. I will tell you this, even though I was not losing pounds, I was losing something. This last week I have dropped half a size everywhere (so I’m not stuck between sizes) while the scale was bopping up an down. I’m a daily weigher but I rely more on tracking to keep me honest. Intellectually, I know the scale is not always an accurate reflection of what’s really happening to my body. 🙂
  7. Just curious... When you woke up from surgery, did you have traditional stitches or did your surgeon use Dermabond? I was very surprised to find Dermabond this time. It was so much more comfortable. No pain, no pulling, no being careful with pants or waistbands, no fear of infections...just awesome! I’ve had four other abdominal (laparoscopic) surgeries but always woke up to traditional stitches.

    Recent pics- May/June- 2018

You look fabulous! (Guess what? When models sit down, they have rolls, too. Theirs are just really petite.)
  9. I’ve been on Trintellix (formerly Brintellix) for years. It is weight nuetral, no gain/no loss problems. It works in conjunction with my Topamax to control both ends of my bipolar disorder. Unfortunately, my dose of Topamax is so high, I don’t get the weight loss benefit folks see in the low dose end of that drug. Rats! 🙂

    Practicing for the sleeve?

Using the “Lose It” app helped me track everything. It let me organized and accountable. Perhaps it will help you, too. Best wishes for great success!

    May 2018 losers bench

Loose stool is one thing. However, liquid going in will come out via your urinary tract. If it’s coming out elsewhere, that’s not cool or a normal result of a full liquid diet. I switched to all plant based proteins and bone broths. Solved my problem after 9 days and no answers from surgeon and a host of testing. You might want to start there. (It took another 5-6 days of very loose stools before o had enough control to leave the house.) It’s a process.

    May 2018 losers bench

Sleeved 5/17 SW: 180 CW: 167 GW: 140 I’ve been at this weight for over a week. I’m meeting my goals. On purees. Following rules to the letter. Getting in between 550-700 calories and monitoring my macros. However, since I seem to be losing inches, I’m just going to chill about the pounds and let my body adjust. I guess Spanx and I will be friends while I am between the next dress size!

    Must haves for Gastric Sleeve

Bone broth is helpful when you need a break from sjskrs but still want to maximize protein intake.

    Must haves for Gastric Sleeve

Over 3 weeks out, it continues to be my experience that I can never have enough sugar free popsicles! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

    Snacking at the Movies

Exactly! I bought the largest bottle of water they had and drank it. Husband ate at large bucket of popcorn with butter and salt AND and order of onion rings! His stuff smelled way better than mine! But I kept telling myself, “We have different paths. That crap doesn’t get me where I’m trying to go.” And, with so much water, it’s not like I was hungry anyway. It just freaking smelled good on his side of the armrest!!! 😄
  16. “Losing inches...” That’s HUGE!!! If not losing one or the other, you worry. If at least one is dropping off, you are so winning!
  17. Crystal lite Pure uses Stevia or truvia (too lazy to get up to check).

    Non Scale Victories

And a heart congrats to those of you who broke this barrier, too!!! 😄👍

    Non Scale Victories

Up until my mid thirties, I was thin but toned. (I was an on-air model into my late 20’s so the standards were incredibly high.) My thighs still touched somewhat. It is either completely normal for some body types OR no matter how how thin some of us become, we were just born with our legs too close together! :) Don’t let THIS be your benchmark.

    Stitches or Dermabond

Really?! That might have been a bit more comfy than the 6,000 staples they used to close me up after Baby Gigantor fought his way out!

    Stitches or Dermabond

    I think you’re the Rock Star here!😄🎉
  22. This is not the place for this. You both have helpful information.
  23. My best advice: Comfy bottoms and earplugs if noise stresses you out. Definitely comfy bottoms to covers your hiney when you make the rounds in the halls! Best wishes!
  24. In what world does “inaccurate info “beat the ants off of not having any at all”?! It’s the same darn thing.

    Practicing for the sleeve?

I actually did the lifestyle. I had my consult Jan 22, 2018. Jan 24th I began getting 90 grams of Protein in each day (mostly with Protein Shakes and lean meats). I started taking all supplements my Dr. required for after surgery. I quit smoking cold turkey. I kept my calories at about 1000. I eliminated carbs and tracked every bite that went in my mouth. I wanted to make sure my good habits were in place for pre-op and post op diets and for long term success. Sounds harsh but it’s a life commitment.  My surgery was May 17.
