  1. Welcome to June RNY Buddies! You're doing great with weight loss already. That's a long pre-op diet. There are several of us with dates right around you. Keep checking back. Sending you all the best for next week. I'm a mix of nervous and excited too! <3
  2. @beejim - Welcome Home! Sounds like you’re doing amazing! Good job for drinking and walking. Sending all the best for a speedy recovery!
  3. How is your wifey feeling????? Loved watching you two on your videos. You two are ADORABLE!
  4. @Trixie82 - You're a sweetheart. Thank you so much for subscribing! I can't believe I'm doing it but I think it will hold me accountable to make regular updates. Also, I'm so grateful for all those that have shared their journeys via video. I have binge watched so many and feel encouraged and educated on what's to come week by week.
  5. Ditto!!! I'm ready to get it over with as well. You've got this @Ppdunn22192! Sending you warm wishes and healing thoughts.
  6. Best of luck @Missouri-Lee's Summit! I'm in Blue Springs and am having mine at KU Med on 6/25. You got this!!! Can't wait to hear your updates.
  7. Thank you! It's definitely been trying but, I refuse to give up on myself. My surgery is the 25th too, we're twins! YAY! You're a great inspiration. Glad to be able to go through this with you. Feel free to jump on over to June RNY Buddies. If I remember correctly, there are a couple others on there scheduled for June 25th as well. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/415630-june-rny-buddies/
  8. Awesome job losing almost 50 lbs. already! You're doing great! My surgery is on June 25th. Sounds like we're in the same week.
  9. Hi! CONGRATS on your upcoming surgery, @FierceOne! So exciting. The kittens photo is absolutely precious. I have 2 Ragdolls named Romeo & Juliet and love, love, love kittens. <3 I found out about my surgery date about a month before surgery and I immediately got busy and prepared a back up plan for me. I then approached my boss and let him know I was having surgery, and would need 2 weeks off, and discussed the list of those covering my workload and asked that we keep this private and confidential. I told him I would have difficulty telling folks what I was doing while on PTO if they asked, because we have such an open, fun office and are super friendly with one another, but this was something I wanted to keep to myself for the most part. It's ok to be private about this. My boss was super supportive and said, I don't have to tell anyone anything and if asked, just say I'm spending time with my family and having a staycation. He asked if anyone else knew about this, and I told him that I'd tell my closest colleague that I was having surgery but asking her to keep it private as well. He asked if everything was ok, and I told him everything would be fine. No detail was provided on what kind of surgery I was having. He asked if I was going to tell our Founder and said I didn't need to, but I decided I would go ahead as I provide administrative support to her a lot too. I kept it basic as I did with my boss and colleague and just told her I was having surgery. No one asked any additional questions. I did tell my work BFF what was really going on but she is in HR and her lips are always sealed. I plan on not telling anyone else at work. This is your journey and we can support you!
  10. @Hal711 - Love your mantra and thinking about it as I watch the clock. 5 more minutes till lunch. HAHA! I have a couple options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Yogurt and Cottage Cheese can be combined with 3 oz. of Turkey, Fat Free Ham or Chicken for lunch or dinner. I just eat really slow and savor each bite.
  11. Oh yay! I see both you and your wife are vlogging! I'll check you out this evening. So great that you have the support of each other.
  12. @patriciaguerre22 - Keep up the good work! It's encouraging to hear how well you're doing!
  13. YOU GOT THIS!!!! I always feel the more education the more knowledge and power. Teach us what you learn.
  14. Oh no. What's going on? Sending good vibes...
  15. @ALFxRNY - I'll look for the koolaid jello. I just got the Jello brand premade sugar free cups. I had another tonight. It actually tasted a little better than the early afternoon snack. @Hal711 - WOW! 12 lbs. in a week!? That's nuts. Imagine where you'll be 1 month from now. I'm going to wait a couple days before I get on the scale because I went a little crazy this weekend. I made the biggest bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough ice-cream in the world last night before I said goodbye. Thank you for venting with me. Your cheese chips sound amazing. I would kill for some cheese about now and it's only day 1. Haha. BUT....this too shall pass. I am excited to be on this diet though as it's a sign of HOPE and the beginning of the new me. I know from here forward, it will be losing time for months to come and the mere thought of that brings a smile to my face.
  16. @rah_henry - I'm so happy things are going well for you. Hopefully this gas will pass very soon! Can you take anything for it? Like those chewable GasX pills? @patriciaguirre22 - You're out of the hospital and doing great. Love hearing that! With a lower BMI, I'm sure you're really going to see those results quickly. CONGRATS! Check in anytime. I'm loving reading everyone's updates.
  17. I'm so sorry you got bumped @Oceanlove. Sounds like you're doing amazing losing already and now your date is a little closer to ALFxRNY and I. Good luck ALFxRNY! We got this diet! We all can do this together. My tummy is growling today but I'm sticking with it. Guess we can all vent here. BTW-the sugar free jello leaves a bad after taste. BLECH! I'm sure I'll be very ready to retire that when through with this pre-op diet.
  18. Hi All: Is anyone documenting their journey on YouTube? I love watching videos of weight loss surgery patients documenting their process. I'f you are, could you share your "channel" as I'd love to subscribe to you if you're doing this? I took a few videos first for myself as I think it will be great to look back on a year+ from now. Then, I decided I'd go ahead and share publicly as the ones I've watched of others have been a tremendous help to me. I'm not good at talking (much better with a keyboard) but oh well. It's kind of fun and I think will keep me motivated along the way. YouTube - Little Kansas Kitty
  19. I'm feeling excited today! I officially kicked off my liver shrinking diet 4 days early to make it an even 2 weeks instead of 10 days. I figured the more weight I lose now, the less I'll have to lose after to reach goal. I meal prepped last night and packed my snacks and goodies for the day and have already downed 32 oz. of water. I did warn my teenage son to please be patient and understanding with me this evening when I get home from work because I may be HANGRY. Haha!
  20. WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST! Tomorrow is YOUR Day!
  21. There is no better feeling than skinny. So proud of you! I can not wait to be in your position. That’s a mountain of a difference from less than a month ago. Congratulations!
  22. I couldn't find them anywhere either. I searched and searched but they seemed to be discontinued. I'll get the Gas X mint chewables as well. Has anyone purchased any Hair, Skin and Nails chewables (preferably sugar free)? My surgeon's office said the gel cap ones I currently take will be too difficult to dissolve going forward. On another note, I came across this little fun celebrity inspiration last night. I love Before and After pics! https://www.eonline.com/shows/rich_kids_of_beverly_hills/photos/13868/before-and-after-celebs-who-have-admitted-to-weight-loss-surgery/753790
