June RNY buddies?
I understand the feeling, @ALFxRNY! It was really affecting me mentally too. Can you E-Mail your office and explain your concern and just see what they say? I think what helped me was adding calories. I'm eating way more these days than last week. I've probably doubled my intake.

June RNY buddies?
Wahoo! Finally, broke my 3 week stall after 8 days of no weight loss! I'm down 25 lbs. now (including pre-op diet). YAY! How's everyone feeling?

Post-surgery; 1 Month; Vomiting
I'm sorry you're still having "after" effects. This sounds so extreme. I'm just trying canned chicken tonight and did ok with canned tuna yesterday. You're kind. I do hope you feel better soon.

How long was you in the hospital after gastric bypass?
Little Kansas Kitty replied to GettingHealthyForMyKidsAndMyself's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery ForumsI had my surgery on Monday, June 25th at 11:20 A.M. and by choice stayed 3 nights. I loved the pampering and amazing nurses and knew my kids were in great shape with grandparents. Once I was at home, I knew it would be all me taking care of me so I loved the extra stay at the hospital to hydrate with fluid bags and heal.

Ab muscle spasms week after RNY?
I'm 3 weeks out and my left "biggest" incision is the only one I still feel. I had those weird spasms at the beginning. Brace yourself when you laugh, poop, sneeze or cough. It does get better but I hear it can take 4 or 5 weeks. I'm hoping I'm near the end because it's annoying to not be able to pick up stuff off the floor. My house turned into a tornado disaster site as I wasn't picking up much after my daughter and her cousins and friends. I paid her extra allowance to pick everything up this weekend. It's just too hard. We'll get there and we'll be feeling ourselves again. Just keep on resting and taking it easy.

Post-surgery; 1 Month; Vomiting
This sounds awful. Have you tried chicken before? I feel like I've read several people have trouble with chicken at the beginning. I'm supposed to try some tonight for the first time and am scared. I'm so sorry for your icky experience. Hope you're feeling better now?

June 2018 losers bench
@ALFxRNY - You're doing everything you need to be. I keep telling myself that too. All we can do is be patient. I bet the walks will definitely help. Good job on getting in all that protein. I think I'm going to try tuna on Sunday. Sounds yummy. I'm doing better. I think I passed a kidney stone this week. I'm still sore on the left side but it feels better today than yesterday. Once I feel the muscles have healed on the left, I'll be eager to begin some light working out. Right now, it's just daily walks/strolls.

@ALFxRNY - my follow up is in mid-August too. You must be holding on to some water weight. I'm sure you'll see a loss soon. You're nice and tall so everything is probably just trying to adjust around to the shock. Awesome job on the 35 lbs. already!!! What are your meals like right now?

@Jessbear345 - your tuna and soup sound yummy! I'm excited to graduate to puree's in a couple days. @ALFxRNY - I feel you on the stall. I E-Mailed my doctor's office to see if they could send me my measurements they took in the office because I too have not been measuring. Great tip and reminder though because although the scale is not moving, I do feel a wee bit thinner. Jeans are a little loose today.

I'm sure we'll experience a loss soon? We have to! I'm sure our bodies are just in starvation mode right now. What is your diet like right now? I'm curious about everybody. I'm feeling a little more hungry today as I haven't had much food at all post-op. I do fill fast though. I'm planning on adding another protein shake per day to the below: Water - 45ish ounces per day - trying to drink as much as possible Breakfast - 1 Premier Protein Shake Snack - sugar free Pudding Lunch - maybe like a 3/4 cup Creamy Soup - strained Dinner - 2 oz. low sugar Yogurt

HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?
Thank you @Johnny2Thumbs! You're doing awesome! If sugar has no appeal to me anymore 3 months out, I'll be ecstatic. I'm glad to hear that dumping isn't as severe as I thought it was. Time heals all wounds. I'm sure I'll be feeling much better soon.

June 2018 losers bench
This 3 week stall is no joke it’s been over 2 weeks for me now ? Ugh! 2 weeks? I'm so sorry! I have literally weighed the exact same since Saturday. Not an ounce more or an ounce less. So strange to me.

Omg, I did it!
YAY!

You're doing awesome! I just returned to work too. Lots of left side pain and I hit the 3 week stall. So glad I knew about it so I can make it through this week and hopefully begin losing again.

HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?
OMG - I am sooooooo sorry, @Trixie82 that you suffer from these too. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I still have a continuous pain/throb in my left flank but then again I also have really sore left side muscles from surgery so the whole area is tricky with bending down or twisting. I pray that I have passed it and I've only torn/pulled the muscle. It's nice you've met your deductible. I would definitely get things checked out if you can. It will just make you feel better to keep an eye on it. My surgery was self-pay, so I have a long ways to meet my deductible and am not trying to rack up any more medical expenses right now. Hoping all of this will pass.

HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?
Awwwwww, so sweet. I'm glad you're enjoying. I found watching videos so helpful to me pre-op. I think it's a super supportive place and hope it will be a way to stay accountable going forward and a documented journey to look back on to celebrate the progress. Thanks for watching my channel @anonbaribabe <3

HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?
Hi @Missouri-Lee's Summit! Thanks for the pain med tip. I'll start doing that with the timing as I'm taking Tylenol consistently right now. Before the episode, I was totally off all pain meds. My doctor's office did say to look for blood in urine and watch out for a fever as that would be a sign of infection. So far so good on that front. My kitties, Romeo & Juliet stayed clear of me during the freak show. LOL

HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?
Hi Macadamia! So, my doctor's office is pretty sure it was a kidney stone. Oh vey. They did tell me that dumping is not "painful". It's uncomfortable and causes nausea but it doesn't hurt. So, I'm with you and still clueless on what dumping will feel like. Congrats on being pre-op! This is such a great site for support.

HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?
Exciting news! Just a quick update that I heard back from my surgical nurse and she too thought it was a kidney stone and that I probably passed it already on Saturday during that 20 minute psychotic episode. When I described my current pain and discomfort in my left hand side and back flank area, she said that often when in agony we can twist and turn in different positions and she thought that I probably had a muscular strain/pull. It does get better with Tylenol and then it begins to wear off and throb. She said as long as I don't have a fever and my urine is not discolored, rest and ice is best for the strain and thought I'd be feeling much better by next week. I'll continue sipping my water.

Feeling down...
I'll have to check out "Jane the Virgin". Just googled it and sounds like a lot of funny drama. I'm sure the recliner is comfier but I purchased a pregnancy pillow which I LOVE! I let my daughter sleep with me a couple nights to have a slumber party but mostly I just was looking forward to the company. Maybe, graduate to lots of pillows so you can snuggle again? Just remember, that every day gets a wee bit better. Tomorrow you'll feel better than today. Before you know it you'll have forgotten what this first month felt like.
