    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

OMG - I am sooooooo sorry, @Trixie82 that you suffer from these too. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I still have a continuous pain/throb in my left flank but then again I also have really sore left side muscles from surgery so the whole area is tricky with bending down or twisting. I pray that I have passed it and I've only torn/pulled the muscle. It's nice you've met your deductible. I would definitely get things checked out if you can. It will just make you feel better to keep an eye on it. My surgery was self-pay, so I have a long ways to meet my deductible and am not trying to rack up any more medical expenses right now. Hoping all of this will pass.

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

Awwwwww, so sweet. I'm glad you're enjoying. I found watching videos so helpful to me pre-op. I think it's a super supportive place and hope it will be a way to stay accountable going forward and a documented journey to look back on to celebrate the progress. Thanks for watching my channel @anonbaribabe <3

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

Hi @Missouri-Lee's Summit! Thanks for the pain med tip. I'll start doing that with the timing as I'm taking Tylenol consistently right now. Before the episode, I was totally off all pain meds. My doctor's office did say to look for blood in urine and watch out for a fever as that would be a sign of infection. So far so good on that front. My kitties, Romeo & Juliet stayed clear of me during the freak show. LOL

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

Hi Macadamia! So, my doctor's office is pretty sure it was a kidney stone. Oh vey. They did tell me that dumping is not "painful". It's uncomfortable and causes nausea but it doesn't hurt. So, I'm with you and still clueless on what dumping will feel like. Congrats on being pre-op! This is such a great site for support.

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

Exciting news! Just a quick update that I heard back from my surgical nurse and she too thought it was a kidney stone and that I probably passed it already on Saturday during that 20 minute psychotic episode. When I described my current pain and discomfort in my left hand side and back flank area, she said that often when in agony we can twist and turn in different positions and she thought that I probably had a muscular strain/pull. It does get better with Tylenol and then it begins to wear off and throb. She said as long as I don't have a fever and my urine is not discolored, rest and ice is best for the strain and thought I'd be feeling much better by next week. I'll continue sipping my water.

    Feeling down...

I'll have to check out "Jane the Virgin". Just googled it and sounds like a lot of funny drama. I'm sure the recliner is comfier but I purchased a pregnancy pillow which I LOVE! I let my daughter sleep with me a couple nights to have a slumber party but mostly I just was looking forward to the company. Maybe, graduate to lots of pillows so you can snuggle again? Just remember, that every day gets a wee bit better. Tomorrow you'll feel better than today. Before you know it you'll have forgotten what this first month felt like.

    Feeling down...

Hey girl, I understand being down but really, I think you're going to be SO happy about this decision. You're so young and when you lose that weight it will be faster than others and your skin will have so much more elasticity. Girl, you've already lost almost 30 lbs.!!! Amazing! I totally wish I would have had this surgery earlier. I'll have to let some veterans respond but I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere about a hormone flush after surgery where they can get a little out of whack? You're on to something though about the isolation feelings. I felt a little bit of that too during recovery but know that this is your very special time all to yourself to heal. Start walking outdoors and get some fresh air. Then, get comfy and watch some Netflix. May I recommend, "Money Heist"? So good. I binge watched and finished it in like 2 days. LOL Every day is going to get better. You're going to be able to eat and drink like everyone else (just much more less) down the road and you'll be so skinny! You've got friends on here. Everyone is so supportive.

    Left Lower Abdominal Pain

I'm 16 Days Post-Op and my left side pain is really bad too. It's hard to bend down and get out of bed. I wonder if I over did it one day and pulled something? I'm sitting in my office chair with a heating pad on. I've read that it can take 4-5 weeks. We may just be a little slower to heal.

    June RNY buddies?

For sure take those softeners!! It won't do you any favors to be constipated. I had a little set back over the weekend with a stomach bug or something. I had to get some IV fluids to catch up, but otherwise all is well. I agree on the stool softeners! I've been taking them daily and have had 3 BM's in 2.5 weeks. Awesome job on the weight loss @New challenge! @Hal711 - I'm so sorry about your stomach bug. Glad you were able to get fluids and seem to be back at it again. 3 WEEK STALL - who has experienced it? I've been sitting at the same weight for 4 days. Daily weigher still. I'm sure that will change over time.

    June RNY buddies?

Nice to hear everyone's updates on here. Sounds like we're all losing, trying to keep hydrated and dealing with the left side pain. Every day gets better! I'm wearing a dress today to work. It's been like 9 or 10 months since I've worn a dress. I feel great (aside from a kidney stone that I'm trying to pass).

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

Wishing you good luck at your doctor and hope you get some relief. I'm back at work today for the first day after 2 weeks off. I brought my heating pad and it's helping with the throb in my flank area. I've been sitting pretty much most of the day so I'm sure that the rest and the water I keep sipping is helping. I'm crossing fingers and toes that this too shall "pass".

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

LOL - this cracked me up! I have never heard of an extra nipple. Too funny. P.S. - Thanks for all the love and watching my channel! Too sweet. LOL about my cat. That's my Ragdoll, Romeo. I'm not sure where Juliet was sleeping.

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

I saw that and will add it to my list to ask the doctor tomorrow. I was wishfully thinking the crystal light would suffice. Haha. I'm like you though, and haven't been able to take that many ounces in yet. I know it will get better with time. My dad has had troubles too with kidney stones but hasn't had any instances for 19 years. He drinks cranberry juice every day.

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

That's fascinating. I've never met anyone else like this. I have one on my right which does 60% of the work and two on my left which do 40% of the work. They have fused together (so unfortunately cannot donate) but I too have 3 individual working ureters. Do you have trouble with kidney stones?

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

@AshAsh1 & @Missouri-Lee's Summit - I have been convinced since last night that it's a kidney stone. Thanks for the helpful articles. I've had 3 kidney stones already (all at once several years ago which needed to be lasered off while under anesthesia) and my Urologist told me at the time that I had more in my kidneys but it could take years before they move out. I actually have 3 kidneys. I know, weird. I think what happened is that when I thought I was dumping, I was actually passing a kidney stone from my Kidney to my ureter. The pain was seriously like death. It was awful. I hope this is not going to be an ongoing issue. I think you're right that the surgery helped speed up the kidney stone process. I'm sure I'm dehydrated. I'm drinking the crystal light lemonade right now. Hope that helps. I have had a constant throbbing pain in my left lower flank area since the Tylenol wore off last night. It's not debilitating but definitely aggravating and constant. I'll call my surgeon tomorrow. Hope this too shall pass without any medical assistance.

    Bowel Movement

Don't you worry at all. You're not taking much in and so there isn't much to put out. I didn't have my first BM until the other day and I was 10 days post-op. I was taking colace daily (stool softener). It did hurt a little but at the same time felt amazing to go. I had another BM 3 days later (today at 13 days post-op). Things will get moving again. My doctor had no concern about the delay.

    HOLY COW! Is this Dumping?

All of you have lost SO much weight! CONGRATULATIONS and thanks for responding. I do appreciate it. That whole episode was so scary for me. Since I'm so freshly post-op, I'm really not eating much and I've had the same liquids/foods for the last week with no change. @GassyGurl - are you saying that you eat the same thing for 10 days and it's not until the 10th day that you may dump on one of the foods? @SGirl35 - Thank you. I will certainly keep my eye out, and I'm not having another Flinstone. I'll call my doctor on Monday to discuss what happened. @Biddy zz - your Christmas cake episode sounded awful. I honestly don't think I could have doubled the time of my pain. 45 minutes would have been too long. Good heads up on the Quest bar. I saw someone eating one of those on a YouTube video and thought I'd love to try one later down the road. Now, not so much. The label on the vitamins didn't provide much detail. There was only like 2g added sugar and so the only thing that stood out in the ingredients was the glucose syrup. My other vitamins do not have that and nor does my yogurt or any of the other foods I've been eating. It didn't say how much syrup was in there. @AshAsh1 - I really hope it's not a kidney stone but you do have me thinking. I've had a few before and they had to be lasered out. Not exactly looking for another surgery any time soon. I think you're right that time will tell and I'll just have to see how things go. Thanks again for all of you responding. Appreciate it.

60lbs down and loving the attention

You go girl! Love reading this. So encouraging! May I ask what your stats are/were? Where you began in weight, your height, etc.? How's loose skin? How far post-op you are? I've yo-yo'd all my life and LOVE life thinner. I can't wait to be back to where you are now. You're so right about "the food will get replaced with things far better".... Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

    June RNY buddies?

Hi! So we're in July and we've officially all made it through our surgeries! PHEW & YAHOO! I lost 12 on pre-op, gained 10 in hospital and then lost all that plus 4 more by the time I reached today (1 week from surgery). So, I'm down a total of 16. Eating and drinking is near impossible. I'm getting hardly anything in because I'm so full. I'm sure every day will get better. CONGRATS to all!

    June RNY buddies?

I'm so sorry for that long drive. I can only imagine! My surgery was Monday and I stayed 3 nights in the hospital, so Thursday my Dad picked me up to take me to my house and the drive was 40 minutes or so and I literally felt every bump in the road. Is your left side killing you? Mine is. I basically move back and forth from the couch to bed. Yesterday I got in 29 ounces. It's so hard! I feel so full all day. Even the vitamins feel like a huge meal. Haha! I've been watching YouTube videos all morning and going back to weight loss surgery patients early videos post op to see if their experiences are similar to mine. I plan on taking a new video today or tomorrow and uploading. You can find me under "Little Kansas Kitty" and feel free to subscribe. How are you doing with your fluids? Did you weigh yourself already?
