  1. I’m so thankful for all of the replies people put on here because it just makes me feel better about my decision. Thank you so much !
  2. Thank you. It’s just weird going 2 weeks not being able to “eat” anything but liquids. It’s made me worry I’ll never be able to enjoy meals again I guess. I’m not worried about changing eating practices I’m just worried I’ll forever be extremely limited with my options.
  3. Thank you! I’m just trying my best to get out of this funk
  4. Thank you for the advice as well. I’ve been binge watching Jane the Virgin lol. I just feel cruddy because I haven’t gotten to spend any time around anyone and I can’t go with my boyfriend to his jobs like I did before due to rough roads hurt still. He gets home super late and I live 40 minutes from everyone else so it’s been a challenge with the loneliness. Not to mention sleeping in my recliner instead of in bed just makes me feel more isolated from him. I’m so ready to feel better about everything.
  5. Thank you so much for this advice.. I am feeling much better now physically speaking but mentally I’m just not there. I’ve pretty much cried every day. My main issue is I’m the only one Out if everyone who has had wls that I know that’s had RNY so it’s hard to have a peer to talk to about it all. I’m hoping it gets better. Maybe once I start soft foods I’ll feel like a person again..
  6. It’s hard for me to lay any way. I slept in bed for the first time last night but I only slept on my right side and back a little bit but it was not very comfortable even with pillows.
  7. So I don’t really know exactly how to put this into how I’m feeling but I’m increasingly down in the dumps at 1 week post op RNY. I did all the research and felt prepared but now I see myself being very worried about complications and that my entire life is going to just suck from now on. I’m not worried about the food aspect of it. I’m more afraid of the what if’s that may happen down the road. I’m 21 and I am just now beginning life. I’m worried about if I will ever be able to have kids and if I will have a normal life with this procedure having been done. Don’t get me wrong I am extremely thankful to have had it, but I also hate how I feel right now. It’s mostly feelings of isolation because I haven’t been able to do anything or go anywhere since surgery. Hopefully things get better because I’m seriously struggling right now.
  8. Anyone else have a issue with laying flat in bed post op? I Can’t get on my side and my tummy feels extremely weird if I lay flat. Any ideas?
  9. I asked my surgeon what was causing the pain and he said it was due to the suture they have to put in the muscle at that site because he leaves a small drain tube in until my 2 week post op appointment.
  10. Thank you! Yeah it’s hard sometimes to even stand up straight. I am barely 3 days post op though so I just need to be patient.
  11. Still very sore.. bending over or moving is difficult due to sharp pain next to my largest incision. Hopefully it goes away within the week. Congrats on all your progress by the way! You’re doing great!
  12. It’s so weird to me because I’ve had no issues with my water intake. The day I had surgery after they woke me up I drank 6 water bottles. It’s gotten a little more difficult the 2nd and 3rd days but it’s not too bad. I just don’t get a full feeling when I drink liquids. Makes me wonder what’s wrong that I’m not feeling a restriction
  13. Thank you so much! I’ll definitely look into that! I just know I can’t do any of the milky protein shakes because they hurt so hopefully those will be better.
  14. I have been seeing people talk about meeting protein goals but my surgeon told me not to even worry about protein and just to focus on water. He did say I could have a protein shake if I felt hungry but I haven’t. Has anyone else’s doctor told them that?
  15. I know that every experience is different and I did call. He says it’s more than likely just gas trying to make its way out and that the dry heaving was because I may have had too thick of a broth yesterday that caused my stomach to be upset.
  16. Try the pillow / towel trick (I believe I posted that in another one of your threads about this) and see if that helps! But using the spirometer and walking are pretty critical to helping you get all this gas out. Another trick I figured out back when I had my band is to increase your abdominal pressure to help force gas out. So, you take as deep a breath in as you can, and hold it, pressing into it slightly (almost like doing a crunch, just sort of bare down a bit) the idea is to increase pressure inside your abdominal cavity (without causing any damage to the muscles so don't go to hard) and that increased pressure will help force the gases into the blood stream / out of your abdominal cavity. Good luck! I’ll definitely have to ty that! The gas is pretty much only in my abdomen it didn’t really wander anywhere else. I just can’t wait to be able to stand without the pain when I go to walk.
  17. Thank you!
  18. Yes. Yesterday was really bad though because I started dry heaving and couldn’t hardly stand up
  19. Has anyone else had issues with dry heaving the first couple of days post op? I feel like my biggest incision or the muscle is tearing every single time and it hurts worse than anything?
  20. I would’ve been fine except for the dry heaving the gas caused me yesterday. Today I’m sore as can be and my biggest incision feels like it’s tearing every time I go to stand up. It’s really frustrating.
  21. Anyone have severe pain second day of surgery? I’ve barely been able to pass gas and getting out of my recliner is a nightmare
  22. I had my RNY yesterday as well. I’m the same on the liquid diet. It’s not too bad!
  23. Now officially a part of the post-op crew as of yesterday!
