I've been thinking about the VSG for what feels like for-EVER but it's finally getting really, really real. I attended the WLS seminar at the clinic I'll be having surgery at on Monday of this week and left feeling really excited. I've been waiting for their phone call to schedule my initial consultation with the surgeon all week and got it today. Much to my surprise, we also scheduled ALL of my additional appointments (NUT, Psych, Class, etc) AND my tentative surgery date. HOLY COW. It's all happening so fast! I have appointments on June 4th and June 11th and my surgery is scheduled for July 10th! I.can't.wait.

That’s what makes me sad about this. I’m truly amazed at the difference between private pay and insurance paid. I’m grateful for this opportunity, especially when I know there are others who seek it and it doesn’t happen for one reason or another.

I’m another (hopefully) summer surgery! I attended the seminar and am waiting to hear back from the clinic to schedule my appointments. I’m also self-pay so it’ll be a faster process. So excited!

I will be attending the initial meeting at the WLC later this month and had a few questions for anyone that's done self-pay before... The clinic I am wanting to get my sleeve done at advertises their 'self pay' cost. Would that typically include your hospital stay and pre-op appointments? I realize this is definitely a question I can (and plan to) bring up during this seminar BUT I wanted to gather any details I can ahead of time from people who've already been through it. If you were self-pay and could share any details about your experience, that would be fantastic. Thanks for helping this newbie out. :-)
