So far I am stocked up on Vitamins, Protein Shakes, all the foods allowed post -op. I bought paper plates, one ounce measuring cups for measuring fluids and food. We already have a ninja and food processor along with blender
bottles. We also have food scales galore from the years of dieting.
What else do we need? Surgery is on Monday and for those who have gone through it what did you wish you had or glad you had. What made your meal prep easier? Any kitchen tools?DVontesmommy1 reacted to this -

Omg I feel for you! Seriously... I am freaking starving right now. Drink your Protein shakes!! And tons of Water. I really like Jello but even that is getting old at this point.
This bigger upside here Is the weight loss and what is what is helping me not eat. I have lost 13.8 lbs since Monday. My legs no longer look swollen and I can actually see my shin bones. I was having issues with edema pretty bad in my legs.
What also helped me was looking at my before pictures. Especially the ones I took naked... that is helping me see the bigger picture. I am nervous about Sunday though which is the day before surgery. We can only have Clear Liquids and no protein shakes... I am going to be starving when I go into surgery on Monday.
Good luck and know you are fr from being alone. You got this!!kellibambam reacted to this -

I really like the Premier Protein and you can get them at costco. My doctor actually recommended these as they have 30g of Protein and only 160cal.

Hello,
I posted these in the June sleeve thread, but wanted to post more broadly. Video 1 and 2 are up. Video 3 should be coming today. I have preop this Thursday, 5/31. Surgery 6/11- two weeks from today!!!
I am struggling with this journey emotionally. I am all over the place. I know this is the right decisions so I can live my best life again. I already feel a huge difference with the weight I have lost to date. I can walk in stores and my back is not in pain. Now it is just my knees and ankles. But with more loss that will get better too.
Subscribe to my youtube page and I will keep posting more videos. This is just a way I can talk through and process all of this. Plus I want to look back and remind myself where I was. In a way it is a reminder to not let history repeat itself. It has helped me already and if it can help anyone else that is great. Enjoy!

Hello All! I am having a hard time processing my feelings about my surgery so I am starting a blog. I have never edited video before so hopefully I can get better. This first video is longer than what the rest will be.
I go for my preop appointment this Thursday. I will be recording parts of that experience. I am not sure if this will help anyone, but it will hopefully help me at the bare minimum.
Thanks and and good luck! Surgery is June 11. So two week away!

The website is WLSVitamins and they’re for Bariatric patients. I’ve done a ton of research on doctors and they advise not to go to GNC for Multivitamin because they do not give enough for us. I brought the B12(Very Important), Folic acid, calcium citrate, Iron and the Multivitamins. Studies shows that taking the right Vitamins and Protein will avoid hair loss. I love my hair so I can’t let that damage. I will message you once I’m able to use my phone to cheer you on for the next day.
Are these chewables? If so, how is the taste? I am taking Bariatric Advantage mixed berry and they are pretty nasty.

June 11th and I am self pay as well. Very excited! I have a few more nutrition appointments. Apparently my surgeon uses a staged diet before liquid diet. Also I have to repeat some labs and do a chest x-ray and EKG. Every other test has resulted in finding something wrong i.e. sleep apnea, hiatal hernia, and they put me on a low dose BP med. so I am hoping the EKG comes out normal...
Good luck! We are surgery twins! I am sorry you they keep finding issues but it is good to find it now and get it rectified. Good luck!! I have my fingers crossed for you!

I wonder why you do three weeks of liquid? My doctor only my requires one week and I am doing the gastric sleeve. Are you doing a different surgery or is that just surgeon prefence?
