Do tired of vomiting
bluebutterfly replied to moondoggie1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I spent 6 days in the hospital after surgery due to nausea and vomiting. Was given the patch and several different anti nausea meds that did nothing for me. Was finally sent home and still having horrible nausea and vomiting 1-3 times a day. Had a follow up yesterday and was told I’m sensitive to being in ketosis and to have a little apple juice through out the day to keep my sugar up. Went all day yesterday without vomiting and thought I had the code cracked only to wake up in the middle of the night vomiting 🤕 I feel so defeated. I’ve followed everything the surgeon has told me and can’t seem to get this under control. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone and am so sorry to see others having issues. -
Any Surgery twins for May 21st ?
bluebutterfly replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m still in the hospital as I’m not able to keep anything down. Surgeon said this happens sometimes and you just have to ride out the nausea. So the only real fluids I’m getting are from the IV. Yesterday I was able to keep down 2oz of apple juice, hoping the progress continues and I’m able to go home soon. -
Hang in there, I had surgery on the 21st and am still in the hospital as well. Horrible nausea and can’t keep anything down. I guess this happens to some people. I was sure I’d be home by now but will not let this little detour get me down. I’d rather they keep me here so i don’t end up in the er dehydrated. My surgeon said that it’ll eventually pass and I’ll be fine.. so I’m in the same boat hanging on

I’ve tried lots of different protein as well. The ones I like best are premier protein caramel and vanilla, syntrax matrix peanut butter cookie and strawberries and cream, also like the select protein wild berry -

Any Surgery twins for May 21st ?
bluebutterfly replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor didn’t require a liquid diet. He put me on a high protein, low carb diet that I started Saturday. However, I’ve been nervous about just liquids after surgery so I’m doing 2 meals liquid and a small dinner. I’ve lost 6 pounds so far. Will probably try to do all liquid the last few days. I’m scared it will be really hard after surgery if I don’t. How’s yours going? -
Any Surgery twins for May 21st ?

I’m the 22nd so just a day after...you’ll have to be sure to let us know how you do. I’m sure you’ll do fantastic! -
@kordie Don’t be so hard on yourself. I’m sure after the surgery it will be much easier to follow your doctors orders.. my surgery is on Tuesday and even though I’m allowed to eat until Monday I wanted to try to do as much liquid diet as possible to see what it’s like and try out various Protein Drinks. I’ve found it very hard. It’s not you.. but I’m sure once the surgery is completed the Protein Shake will seem much more filling.. at least that’s what I’m telling myself [emoji6]

Have you considered using a grocery delivery service like Shipt. It’s pretty reasonable and I save money by not buying impulse purchases. It’s easy to stick to a plan when your not browsing the isles. I love it and while it does cost $15 a month plus whatever I tip the delivery person, I’ve found my grocery bill has significantly decreased and I’m saving money as well as having a much easier time sticking to good food choices to have in the house.

Need help finding multivitamin that I can take after surgery
bluebutterfly replied to Italia904's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been looking into various vitamins as well. Found something that looks pretty interesting to me and wanted to see if anyone has heard of or tried. It's called Tespo and they have a bariatric one as well. I like that it's a liquid. I can't do ones that are too chalky. -
May 22nd, don't have to start pre-op diet till the 12th but have already kind of started trying to get in the right frame of mind.. no caffeine has been rough, also have tried to eliminate all processed foods and only eating protein and veggies.
