I’d find another surgeon honestly..mine didn’t require any weight loss or preop diet. I just couldn’t be heavier than I was at my first appt. hopefully you find someone to work with you. The surgery will surely help manage the diabetes better. Good luck!

Daily..almost 9 weeks out from VSG. I have lost 44lbs so far(14lbs preop). My tolerance was sky high before and still is. I don’t really get the munchies. If I want to snack I always have like boiled eggs or veggies with ranch dip in the fridge. But I don’t necessarily get them. I honestly feel like it helps with curbing my appetite. It did preop as well and aided with the 14lbs. I don’t really talk about this with people because opinions are strong on usage, surgery or not. Glad to see others who enjoy as much as I.

I weigh daily. I only log a loss. I feel it helps me recognize trends and not obsess so much when I’m a few ounces more today than yesterday. I fluctuated with 3lbs during my first stall. Weighing daily helped me see it was just moving here and there and then took off again.

I’m 24 days out and stalled as well. I’m not sure how long to not see any more loss. I’m just trying not to obsess. I just got so used to seeing the weight come off that now it’s kikda disheartening.

2 weeks and 6 days out. I was pretty much hibernating the first week. I’m able to do things now but I go to sleep as soon as I get home if I go run errands or something. I get easily exhausted.

I’m there as well. I’ll be 3 weeks out Thursday and haven’t lost for about 3 days. I had that “is it working” moment today.

Yes I had a hernia repair. One of my symptoms was shortness of breath from it pushing up on my lungs. I felt the difference in that immediately after surgery so I know it was repaired. Haven’t had any issues.

You’re going to do great! It’s tough at first but trouble don’t last always. I’m 12 days post op and feeling good!

Welp! At 9 days post op I’ve lost 17lbs. Pain wasn’t as much of a factor. The gas is way way worse and can last quite awhile. Walking and a heating pad got me through. Today is really the first day I’ve felt myself. It’s been very surreal for me. I’m just spending my time looking for good recipes to cook that my entire family can enjoy and watching YouTube. I’ve had 2 breakdowns. One was cause I was just tired of the gas pains. The second was faux concern from a quasi friend. I’m learning that this journey is all my own. Nothing is written in stone. And to take one day at a time because it WILL get better. Best of luck on Monday. And your fellow North Texans aren’t far for support.

I’m just south of Fort Worth myself. Sleeved 6/7/18.

Everyone is different so never gauge yourself based on others. With that said, I’m 5 days post op and have lost 10.6lbs.

I am drinking at least 35oz of liquid and have eaten cream of wheat. I am feeling very positive about this journey and am so glad I did it. Good luck to everyone having surgery this week.
Heyyyyyy surgery twin! I’m so glad you’re doing great! That nausea was a beast those first few days. Yuck! I’m trying to get my liquids in too. I haven’t tried anything like the cream of wheat just cause I’m a chicken. But I couldn’t be happier with my decision. All the built up anxiety is finally gone. Again, I’m glad you’re doing great.

It’s going to go great! Gas pains are really the only painful part. Good luck! Can’t wait to see you on the sleeved side.

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to come home yesterday because I was having so much nausea and was not able to get in enough fluids. After changing my nausea med I was doing much better and able to come home about 6pm last night. I am doing so much better today. Still taking the pain med about every 4 hrs but I don't think that will be much longer. I am ready for this next chapter of my life.
That’s great! The nausea is a real pain. But I’m excited for this new me as well. It’s official now.

No blood but definitely gagging and stomach acid. My doctor said it was normal because of the pressure inside smaller stomach. Hope you feel better.

I feel pretty good. I haven’t been hungry at all. Just thirsty. The nausea and gas pain is the worse part. Other than that, I’m ok.

Tomorrow is my day! First case of the morning. I’m excited, nervous, scared. So very emotional. I’ve been crying off and on all day. I’m ready but I don’t know how to feel. My life is changing tomorrow.

Oh wow! Hugs to you. I was in a similar situation. Mine didn’t want me to have it because he was concerned d about me losing so much weight so fast. I finally told him that I was doing with or without his blessing. Now he’s more excited about next Thursday than I am. Hopefully your husband comes around and is supportive. Either way, do what’s best for your health and let the chips fall where they may.

Congrats. You’re close and I’m cheering for you. When do you start your preop diet? I noticed some people are lucky and only have to do 7 days. I have to complete 14 days
Seeeee. My doctor doesn’t require any pre-op diet. He just doesn’t want me to weigh more than I did at my initial appointment. I’ve lost 16lbs on my own by just trying to do right and get myself together mentally for the changes to come. Hugs to everyone.

Is it getting more and more realnfor anyone else?? Nahhhhh just me! I’m super excited y’all.

I’ve had all these comments before. It’s not the easy way out. It takes a lot to do SOMETHING to take charge of your life.

Yes you can bring crystal light packs but no waters(unless frozen solid)through security. Doesn’t matter what airline it is. Snacks are absolutely ok.
