I went to Tiajuana, Mexico. I flew into San Diego, CA and they picked me up from the airport and took me straight to the Hospital (Oasis Of Hope), They began labwork and ex-rays, I met with the Surgeon, the Anestistiologiest (SP?), Internal Medicine then to surgery! I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights then they take you over to the Grand Hotel (5 star hotel) for 1 or 2 nights.
I was in GREAT care! Loved the doctors, nurses, ect, everyone was GREAT!!! I will be going back for cosmetic surgery. Super cheap with awesome care!!

a friend of mine is doing surgery with me on the same day, she has 3 weeks pre-op and I only have 1 week, so I did the 1st week with her, just as support and too see if I can handle it! OMG!! I whined and cried (not really cried) the whole week!! I stuck to it- lost 12 lbs (she lost 17 her first week), but geez if it wasn't for creamy Tomato Soup, I think I would be dead right now and yes it was low fat, low carbs and low sugar but very filling!!
I also couldn't wait to be able to take my gummy vitamins and chocolate calcium!! just to taste the sweets
Tomorrow starts my REAL day 1! Surgery is 1 week from today! Luckily, my husband doesn't eat the foods I want and twin 5 year don't eat the things I want either. Don't make dinner of the things that you want or crave. If you are allowed to eat the 4 oz of meat and veggies then make it for everyone! I made very small pieces of chicken with sautéed onion, peppers, and mushrooms- it was very good! I make 4 oz of fliet mion (sp??) and Brussel sprouts, your family can eat chicken and steak- I only at the 4oz of meat twice.
Another thing, make your protien drinks in the blender (the liquid premier tastes the best) and add strawberries or banana, a little almond milk and ice- it will bulk up that shake to more than you can drink!
Its SO hot where I live, I can go get a sugar free snow cone, yum!!

I only have to do 6 days of pre-op diet and 2 days liquid. I started early (at 3 weeks pre-op) and lost 12 lbs the first week, does this dramatic weight lose stop? Surely, you don't loose 10+ lbs a week, do you?

I am on day 2 of Pre-op, so no more Creamer or sugar. I am using Splenda or Stevia for sweetner and Almond Milk or Premier Protein for creamer. I preferred powder creamer. and am not happy with the taste of my coffee the last 2 days. Anyone have suggestions? I could do without sweetner all togather if I found a creamer that was good enough.
Any advice? Has anyone tried the Inspire powder Creamers?

- 3 Different brands of Protein Powder: Delicious Dream French vanilla (24g), Aria Protein in chocolate, Vanilla (both 20g) and Vanilla Cupcake (10g Lower protein for a not so dense shake), and Isopure (25g) in 4 flavors, including unlfavored.
- Premier Protein RTD (30g) in chocolate, caramel, vanilla, bananas & cream and strawberry.
- Protein Waters: Protein20 (20g), Premier Protein Clear (15g), and Trimino (7g)
- 2x Blender bottles
- Multiple small plates (This was strongly recommended by multiple wls vets!)
- Multiple small bowls
- Milk of Magnesia
- Colace
- Bariatric Fusion Vitamins
- calcium chews
- Benefiber
- Cheap slippers for in hospital stay (those socks suck)
- Toilet seat riser (recommended by a soon-to-be sleeved friend on here)
- Squatty Potty (I hear it works, so I figured why not!)
I didn't have to buy any shake/food equipment since I already had a food scale and the Ninja Inteli-sense system that has a blender/food processor/ spiralizer/ and some other random things (I have yet to use so not sure what they do haha)
And because I am neurotic, I've tested out dozens of recipes over the last few months and built up a little repitoire of bariatric-friendly recipes for me to try post-surgery for each different stage. I'll be making some homemade bone broth this week (Dad's a butcher so this comes out really really good!) as well as other quick meals for the first few days post surgery where I probably won't want to cook.
Now that I am reading over this I probably over prepared, but that's type of person I am.
I would love to see some of your recipies! can you post some OR email them to me? amyandgreg1234@gmail.com

Next on my list is a food processor.

We also should break bad habits and chose better food choices which is why I'm going to see a behavior therapist as well. Maybe they can help me get my mind right.
I am also going to start counseling, I was wondering what type of counsler I needed! I don't have "particular" issues but people say its emotional eating, so I am willing to try! I need this to work!!

I don't feel like I am an emotional eater, more of a sugar addict and a boredom "grazer" but I would like to get some counseling just to help give this process every chance possible to get the weight off and STAY off.. but I am not sure if I am supposed to be looking for just a general counselor OR is there a specific type?
