  1. 15 days post op and I just took my Vitamins for the first time. I have the BA Ultra Multi with Iron. About 15 minutes after I took them, I couldn't hold back the nausea and had to run to the bathroom in a cold sweat. I think tomorrow I'll try Centrum chewable because that's what I've got handy right now but I'm open to suggestions.
I just hope I don't puke again. Any ideas on how to prevent this?
Try the BariLife power vitamins. Mix it with Water and your done. No need for other vitamins.

  2. Question for you all. In the first two weeks post surgery, did anyone not crush up their pills?

I have both the hospital meds and my own personal meds to take. Crushing them up without food is absolutely disgusting. I cut them up into tiny pieces in the hospital and swallow them with no problem but the nurse said I may not absorb those as well.

I definitely need to absorb my seizure meds as well as possible.
My doctor gave me liquid Multi Vitamins. They are called BariLife.< br>

  3. All went well. For the most part the pain feels like acid reflux??? Pop cycles help sooth the burning feeling but still there. Protein Shakes is helping too. [mention=338343]TaylorMade4One[/mention] are you still hungry? I’m kinda getting that way too.
Yes, I'm STARVING!!! Nothing to chew since sunday when I had a salad. Every time I take a sip of liquid in 3-4 seconds after I feel a pain. Not sure if its because the liquid is going around the gas..How in the world will I do this for 14 days??!!!

  5. Congratulations with your surgery. I hope we will get through this without any negative side effects. Lol I get you with the hunger part, I had it today as well, but after a few tea spoons of the chicken I had, I was done and I’m still full. It has been 2 hours by now. I won’t be eating anything else today. Otherwise it’s just to much. Sipping Water and other sugar free drinks.
    We can do it [emoji1317][emoji1317][emoji38]
You had chicken? ! How did that go?

  6. Hey everyone
Well I have done it. I took the leap of faith and now I’m on the other side.
I got home this afternoon after 1 day stay. Lots of burping and passing gas. I’m so full for tea spoons of puréed chicken in broth , my stomach did feel sore because of it. Sipping Water through the day and trying to walk.
And also my focusing on my breathing and making sure I temperature myself.

I was so scared before the surgery and so nervous , and now I’m at home trying to get through the first few days and slowly adjusting to this new life.

Also I had a different name on here , few people managed to find me that I didn’t want for them to found out so I changed it.

Anyway I’m trying to focus on the things, it took me about 1,5 years to get here so it’s a long time coming.

Thank you for reading and hopefully I will hear from you guys xoxo
Same for me. I spent 1 day in the hospital and my surgery was Monday 8/13. I'm trying to at least get in 20 oz today. Truely I starving but scared to even try and cheat on this 2 week liquid diet...lop

  7. Had my surgery on the 6th. Despite a cheat day due to stress, my liver was small and pretty clean.
But let me tell you... GAS PAINS ARE NO JOKE.
Was in hospital until about 5pm today, pain is not fully gone but alas, was not prescribed anything but liquid tylenol, anti-nausea, and gabapentin. Pharmacy is out of the anti spasmodic.

Now that I am home and had some deep sleep, the coughing has started. With 5 incisions and gas pain and nausea, this is hell.

All well, since I pretty much have not been drinking, going to try to now. Maybe that plus the meds will also quiet the cough some.

    Best to all!
Now, I'm nervouse about the pain I may be in...yikes!!

  8. My sleeve surgery is on Monday the 13th! Starting my two day clear liquids only today! The two week pre op diet was difficult mentally more than physically but I am so excited to be moving to the next stage and so nervous for surgery
Wait..you said you were nervous. Sorry that was a stupid question. I'm more ready than nervous...but wait until tomorrow....lol I just pray I'm in the hospital one 1 night. ..[emoji1488][emoji1488][emoji1488][emoji29][emoji29][emoji16][emoji16]

  9. Well, tomorrow’s the big day!
RNY bypass first thing in the morning
Today is day three of my liquid diet. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I’m not hungry, I just want to chew something and Jello just doesn’t cut it.
I was planning on sleeping the day away so tomorrow would come and I could just get this over with, but my back just isn’t going to let that happen. So, I guess I’ll try and keep busy.
Heyyy surgery buddy!!! Tomorrow is our big day!!! Can you believe it??

  10. After many last-minute hurdles to jump through the last few weeks (as late as Friday there was still uncertainty - I discovered on Thursday I had to have a CPAP machine at the hospital - so I had one day (Friday) to acquire one. Also PCP only cleared me for surgery last Wednesday (had to get cardiac clearance after a last minute echocardiogram) - surgery is a go for tomorrow - fingers crossed! I'll try to post updates...
