  4. My surgeon is highly recognized; he only requires Clear Liquids 24 hours before surgery. No other pre-op diet
  5. I have no pre-op diet other then clear liquids after 6am on Monday 6/9

  7. I’m hoping to be scheduled in July, I’m so tired of waiting. I’m getting anxious and depressed. I am so ready to make this change. I have one mor nutrition appt on Thursday and then I meet with the surgeon. Let’s go already!
  8. My psychologist specifically said NOT to stop taking any of my meds. With the risk of depression before/after surgery being so great, it was especially important

  11. Everyone’s surgery is different and everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Personally I don’t like how pain meds make me feel so I don’t tend to use them
  12. This is chance at a fresh start. Make a promise to yourself. What seems impossible for a few days, will literally save your life in the long run.
  13. As long as your supervisor approves the time off request, you have no obligation to work around someone else vacations, etc.
  14. If just tell your friend it’s not something you’ve made before and you don’t trust yourself to try it for the first time right now. Politely say no
  15. Unless you are ok with everyone at work knowing, I’d keep it to yourself. Co-workers are gossipy. If you tell a few, pretty soon they will all know

  21. So I contacted my insurance (excellus BCBS) and asked them about coverage. The rep emailed me a copy of my policy and told me to go over it with my PCP. I have an appt with her on Thursday. My question is, once I go through the document with my doctor, To see if I meet the criteria (which I’m assuming I will) what next? Submit the request to insurance? Will my doctor know?   22. I told my husband and mom that I’m considering it (I’ve already made up my mind though). Today my mom send me a text saying your grandmother thinks you have your thyroid checked first. Meaning that she told my grandma I was thinking about WLS, I was livid. I text back asking her to refrain from talking to anyone else about my weight or personal choices.
