  1. Once, immediately after waking up from surgery.
  2. Care.com you can hire someone for the day, or for a few hours
  3. Every morning, but my only official weigh-ins are at the doctors office
  4. I’ve been drinking a cup of 1/2 caffeine coffee (17 days out) ??‍♀️
  5. Don’t make excuses and cut corners. That’s how I gained weight in the first place, and I wouldn’t risk it again. You’re only cheating yourself
  6. My advice; don’t tell coworkers. You tell a couple, soon everyone knows. So unless you are comfortable with everyone knowing. Just don’t
  7. I had surgery 7/10, today was one of the first days I had real, sustained energy. Cleaned the house, purged the kids toys, etc. It takes time
  8. Does your mom understand what it means to “help me out post op”? Anyway, I agree you and your spouse need to have a serious discussion about what will come into the house for the foreseeable future
  9. They will absolutely do a pregnancy test the day of surgery
  10. I’m not expecting the world to change. But to ask my family to avoid eating crap (at least right in front of me) for a short time, isn’t asking too much. If they love me, they should be happy to help
  11. I would throw a fit if my husband/Mom/etc ordered pizza, brought home doughnuts, baked a cake, or came home with a Costco sized package of little Debbie’s this early in my journey (10 days out). I think it’s super inconsiderate. Down the line? Of course. But right now? That’s just jerky
  12. Take your pain pills if you need them, walk and sip
  13. I have two littles myself. My mom took them Monday night into Tuesday. My surgery was Tuesday morning. My husband got them back on Tuesday night. I stayed in the hospital alone all day Wednesday (all I was really doing was sleeping and walking anyway) and they picked me up Thursday morning
  14. I think if the decision isn’t banging you over the head as the right one...then you (or anyone) simply are not ready for the commitment. It’s a huge undertaking and if you aren’t ready, wait until you are.
  15. I started the conversation with “I’m not looking am opinion, I wanted to let you know I will be ______”
  16. Get up, keep moving, try to resume some light daily chores. I know moving around sounds like the last thing you want to do, but honestly I felt like it helped my recovery so much. 2 days on pain meds and that was it
  17. I went bypass; it’s been around a lot longer so doctors know and have studied the long term effects. I didn’t feel as confident about the sleeve, it seemed as many of you said “the trendier option”
  18. Just my little cents; My surgeon and nutritionist both recommend only weighing yourself once a month. That way you don’t get hung up on the stalls or the little fluctuations we have
  19. Had mine on Tuesday. Just super tired. No more pain pills, just Tylenol as needed. Hurts when I laugh, like I did a million sit ups ?
  20. Jenniferletendre@hotmail.com
  21. Didn’t cheat...but thought about it
  22. Used my toothbrush, phone, charger and just went home in the same outfit I arrived in
